Guest Imarkout4chrisdaniels Report post Posted December 26, 2002 I am not saying that certain wrestlers use steroids or that certain wrestlers do not use steroids. I am, however, educated in muscle development and weight training. I have seen (first hand) the effects of eating the right foods to build a better body, and combining that with weightlifting and/or cardio training. A couple of years ago, I lost 21 lbs in 2 weeks by not eating fast food, not drinking beer, drinking tons of water, and eating high-protein/low carbohydrates food. I also played basketball almost daily, and worked out when time away from my job permitted. It was very simple to do. Now I know the discussion on here is not losing weight, but it is related to getting in better shape. I got more muscular in that time (with limited lifting), and obviously more cut. If you want to see rapid results for yourself, consider the following: -Eliminate eating late at night (nothing after 8 pm) -Drink lots of water (no soda or alcohol) -Eat lots of boneless, skinless grilled chicken or canned tuna in water -Lower your carbs and eat 1 gram of protein for every pound of weight you have -Take a multi-vitamin to replace the vitamins you will miss with your new diet -Eat protein bars as snacks -Drink Nitro-Tech and Cell-Tech supplement drinks (available at GNC) -Work out 4-5 days a week with cardio work and abdominal training In 12 weeks time, you will more than likely lose 15 lbs of fat and gain 15 lbs of muscle depending on your current shape, diet, and training regimen. Consider that just about all of these guys do this for a living because their jobs depend on it, they are forced to stay in shape and have a good look, they wrestle (which is very physically demanding) several days a week, and they are outstanding athletes who probably have good genetics as a basis for their build. I have put on a lot of muscle in the 5 or 6 years since high school, and it was not hard to do. Therefore, it does not surprise me that Chris Benoit is bigger than he was in 1994, a full 8 years ago, when he does this sort of thing year round. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant put on a lot of muscle from their more slender frames, and they were talked about for their determination and relentless working out. Think about this stuff, and it doesn't make every ripped wrestler make you automatically yell "STEROIDS" when you see them. And again, I'm not saying that steroids aren't used, just that they are not necessary to be huge and ripped.
