Guest JebusNassedar Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Mmmm.... Albums is tough. But, in all honesty, I think that the best CD of 2002 was... <.< >.> Sparta "Wiretap Scars". I'm sorry, but At The Drive In were my gods, and there fore, Sparta is as well. The three runners up: Pearl Jam "Riot Act" (Say what you will, but in my heart, it MORE than made up for Binaural.) Queens of the Stone Age "Songs for the Deaf" Mudvayne "The End of All Things to Come" Song....hm. That's DAMN tough. But, I'm gonna say Mudvayne "Mercy, Severity". Runners Up Thursday "Standing on the Edge of Summer" Blindside "Pitiful" B.R.M.C "Red Eyes and Tears" Artist of the year? Well, its not Red Hot Chili Peppers, that's for sure...I'd have to say the Queens of the Stone Age. Songs for the Deaf is an incredible CD, and they've been an incredible band, even back as Kyuss. The reason that Sparta got my CD of the Year nod is because of the incredible debut album they had. For a band to go from the chaos of At The Drive In to the serene rock they achieve on Wiretap Scars is just incredible. Runners Up Pearl Jam (Welcome back, guys.) The Hives (Its been a while since I've liked punk.) Thursday (Truly the successors to ATDI's throne.)
