As the years go by, I care less and less about Christmas, so gifts don't mean that much to me and I don't make a big fuss about not receiving much.

Case in point: my sister paid my trip to go see her and my other sister is thinking about getting me a tatoo.

I got a TV, a ton of clothes, Metroid Prime, a few CD's, and some cash. Overall, a very solid Christmas.

Damn, I made out pretty well this year... one of the best years I've had, and half of this stuff I wasn't expecting.

-- Two shirts

-- Two sweaters

-- Two pairs of khakis

-- Frequency (PS2)

-- "Dark City" DVD

-- "Mick Foley: Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops" DVD

-- "Best of Raw, Volumes 1 & 2" DVD

-- A Dilbert Desktop Calendar

-- $50

-- "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" Poster

-- $10 Cinemark Gift Certificate

-- Wallet

-- A Carl Hiaasen book that I already have (getting it exchanged)

-- A Ghost Stories book I've never heard of, looks kinda interesting.

-- One of those little hand-held puzzles where you have to roll the metal balls into preset places, but this one's got like 19 of the balls and it's driving me INSANE.

That $50 is probably going towards a copy of Chrono Cross, so that's another game for me. Whoo!

We haven't opened yet, but...

Mags, I MUST know the specs on that laptop. It's my duty as a geek.

Comments:

WTG On the Bebop OST Box Set. That thing is huge.

Chrono Cross was re-released as a greatest hits a while agi, so it should only cost $30.

And so far, I got:

XBox Live

Lord of the Rings Extended DVD

Gift certificate to Wherehouse

And that's really it. Eh, I'm good.

Yes Mags, specs so we can drool.

I got a lot of apartment stuff since my mom wants to make sure we're fine and dandy when we live on our own, but two main things, and kinda a third....

1) Ergonomic Computer seat. After 5 years of hard folding chairs, this is heaven. I love it.

2) 13" TV purely to have a game system in the living room so we can watch TV and play games while on our comps. How great is that? lol.

3) (sorta) As this was my gift to Rose, but we'll be playing it together: Kingdom Hearts with guide. But we have to finish FF7 first.

ON another note, I was awoken on Christmas Eve morning by my loving girlfriend as she was shaking at 4 AM, not wanting to hit the O button as Cloud had his sword poised at Aerith.

"I don't want Cloud to kill her!"

...I had to say it, mean though it was. I told her Cloud doesn't kill Aerith. Which is true... but the cutscene after wasn't taken too well. However, even I got teary eyed at the movie, which I've already seen in game twice. Again, I proclaim my love of Squaresoft, that five years later this game still is this great. :)

that's all.

Execuse me if I have no idea what to look for, but let's see...

Compaq Presario

-28MB RAM

-3.4GB C: Drive

-1.3GB D: Drive

-AMD-K6 Processor

Hmm. That's all I can find by just poking around inside the computer. Tom or Annie, if you want the rest, you're gonna have to tell me where to find it...

Yeah Thoth, I'm really happy to have it. What makes me even happier is that my brother was able to find the Set at a nearby store for about 90 bucks cheaper than a certain internet retailer.

I got a mini-fridge, a 20" flat panel TV, a new Walkman, "The Two Towers" for PS2 (eh @ the game so far), a Buddha statue carved out of one single piece of stone...

...and...keep in mind my parents know NOTHING ABOUT THE FED...

...a black Chinese cane. Weird.

Oh, my sister got a karaoke machine that everyone is scared to use, and I just made $40 for singing "Mambo No. 5". Christmas is a wonderful holiday.

K.

The $50 just went towards Chrono Cross, Tachyon: The Fringe, and a cheap little joystick, which should all be here by Friday. Whoo!

X-mas nearly no-sold the Curtain-Jerker Extraordinaire this year, but it was saved by a pretty damn swank looking jacket and 150 dollars spending cash.

I stand corrected: after roughly a year or so of my niece not being sure of who the hell I was, I finally got to be able to play with her and make her laugh for the first time in her two years.

To me, that's the greatest gift of all.

Highlights: an iPod and some frighteningly stylish jeans, and the first season of 24 on DVD. Pants and music: it's all I really need.

My dad took it upon himself to spend the Christmas season setting up a giganto 5-channel speaker system upstairs as his big present. We've just gotten it all hooked together, and he's presently singing along with Black Sabbath's self-titled debut. Very loudly.

I'll be retreating to the iPod, then.

Edit: The iPod just starting playing Andrew WK. This is the single best thing man has ever created.

I've learned three things this Christmas Day:

I've finally figured out what my tolerance for alcohol is and it's very f'n low.

Kingdom Hearts is a surprisingly easy game to beat.

Sweet yams rule much more than I though they would.

Maybe so, but the secret bosses, Sephiroth in particular, are a complete pain in the ass.

Ced: did you, oh I don't know, put the difficulty off "Low"? And did you use the light or dark path?

Annie, I never got that far in FF7 without getting bored first, though I know of the scene. I get bored with games too easily. I didn't get far in FF9 either. I did however, finish FF8.

Not everything, but here are some highlights for me:

A virtual PS2 (It's bought, it just isn't here yet.)

SD4 for PS2 (and soon I'll be able to actually play!)

Neverwinter Nights

Spiderman DVD

WWE Anthology

Best of U2 CD

Yeah, that about covers the major stuff.

... let me get this straight...

You didn't get far in Final Fantasy IX, the second best in the series (judging from VI-X, and Tactics), because you got bored... but you managed to play one of the WORST GAMES IN EXISTANCE (FFVIII), and get to the end without getting bored?

LDP = suq.

- A picture of my son (considering that I'm stationed in HI, and he lives with my ex in VA, that's pretty much as good as I could hope for.)

- A Sacramento Kings victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Basically, I got what I wanted (except maybe for a new wife). Plus, I bought myself a Nomad IIc (128 onboard +128 SMC)

I can explain Raynor.

FF8 is easy to beat.

FF9 is not as easy.

I also play Enix games for the most part because Valkyrie Profile and Persona own it.
