I do write slash! I've written a 10-chapter fic centering around Christian/Undertaker.....with DDP oddly playing cupid. It was my absolute first, and it's rated PG-13 at most. It was written before WX8 and it's been pretty much discontinued.....

 

I've only written ONE NC-17 fic....and wrote it because my friend and I decided to shed our "fic virginities" (fic virgins are those that have never written a sex fic). She wrote Shane Helms/Shannon Moore (this gal is a HUGE Shanny mark) and I wrote X-Pac/Michael Cole. (yummy!)

I don't think I could slash Rockers though....mainly because I didn't watch wrestling at the time, and I don't know their tag team that well. Of course, I do know HBK's persona. Perhaps if you pick two guys from the roster now, then maybe I could slash them. Also, what story rating are you going for?

All right, so, what does "slash" mean?  I know you're not part of the Guns N Roses or Kordell Stewart fan clubs or anything and this is obviously some sort of sexual orientation, but...what is it?

Slash is fanfiction that pairs up characters of the same sex and puts them into sexual situations. Usually the characters are picked because of already existing subtext or meta-tex. Examples of slash pairings include:

 

Kirk and Spock (Star Trek)

Buffy and Faith (Buffy)

Xander and Angel (Buffy)

Mulder and Krychek (X-Files)

 

and the grand-daddy of all slash pairings: Xena and Gabrielle

And I am into that sorta thing! Ooooooh, nice fic choice!! Hmmm...did ya know that's part of a series, though? The second fic is Kurt/HHH, the third is Kurt/HHH w/Steph watching, and the fourth is Kurt/HHH/Steph. The author wrote Kurty extremely well, ya gotsta admit.

Oooooooh, you're right AND wrong. Take The Cypress Club for instance (a very EXTREME wrestling fic site, and I don't mean ECW)....

 

Jeff/Raven/Funaki - I've yet to see any "subtext or meta-text" with this one. Especially since.... well, let's just say that Funaki goes into Cypress, but he doesn't leave.....

 

SC/Road Dogg w/ a Master/Slave relationship- This is by FAR the oddest pairing I've ever read. Even the author admits that. But.... insperation comes from odd places.... for example, me pairing X-Pac with Cole.

Face it. People here don't like slash.

 

Message boards have various crowds. I can't talk to the girl I know who's watched wrestling for about a year now about puro or even TNANWA becuase she doesn't know what the fuck I'm talking about.

 

At the same time, a bunch of guys who take wrestling at least semi-seriously and are likely almost all straight probably don't like to hear your wrestling slash.

 

Let me put it this way: I don't normally mind slash. I put up with various anime slash and even other weird stuff like Harry Potter slash. One of my best friend is into slash. Hell, I AM GAY (yes, really,) so therefore I wouldn't have very many problems with slash, would I?

 

But I get offended at wrestling slash. Why? Because these guys are real people. I don't care if you want to slash books, Star Trek, anime, pedo-slash (like the 500 m/m Digimon couplets), whatever.

 

But when you start slashing real people, people who very well may actually be reading the internet and finding that stuff, yes I get offended.

 

Now, I'm not a mod/admin or anything, but I suggest you probably keep your wrestling slash stuff at a wrestling slash message board or Yahoo Group or whatever, and come here for serious wrestling discussion. It will probably make your time here a lot less frustrating as you won't have to sit and explain or defend slash here half the time you post.

Ah, but...you're partly wrong on this one. Most peeps write about the CHARACTERS, not the real people. You brought up Star Trek, so I'll use that as an example. Say someone slashes two CHARACTERS based on what they see on TV. Does that mean they're slashing the actual people? No.

 

Okay, I'll shut up now.....back to "serious" discussion, ie, whether wrestlers juice up or not.....

Actually, an overwhelming number of fics speculate into the, ah, personal dealings between the people when they're not at the show. Some fictions, both het and slash, originate from storylines (I'm sure Vince's escapades with Trish last year stirred some up,) but most go along the lines of "Jeff Hardy was in the shower one day when Crash Holly walked by that part of the locker room and said 'sup?'"

 

I mean, I've been exposed to it all. I've read HOGAN SLASH for crying out loud. I was afraid for my life for a week after that. =b

 

It's just that I can't help but remember that somewhere there's really a guy such as, say, Mick Foley. And I can't help but imagine an upstanding family guy like Mick endorsing stories of him and Steve Austin going at it like rabbits in hotel rooms.

 

I understand it's a public job and all (like acting, musicians, politicians, whatnot,) but it still leaves a sour feeling in my stomach. I'm not saying you shouldn't be allowed from slashing wrestling. I'm wishing more people would choose not to do it, perhaps if they thought a bit deeper about what they're writing about.

Mick.....and SC?!?! Dude, what have YOU beein smokin'?? First you mention Hogan slash, now you're talking about Mick and SC. You're REALLY starting to scare me....

 

But I know what you mean. I don't think he'd "endorse" the stories....most likely find them amusing. I highly doubt he really goes and looks for any slash fics......which would probably be hard to find anyways. To find a slash site, you have to know your way around the net.... and he obviously isn't very computer-literate, as he mentioned in his first book.

 

But some of the other guys have GOT to know how slashy they are. I swear some say or do things just for the story writers.... Example:

Now how are we NOT supposed to think slash with something like that?! If it wasn't for the wrestlers themselves, then we got the idiot announcers...

I'll shut up now..... And for all those haters out there? Perhaps you should lighten up and try and look at these in a humorous way.....
