The situation here with my living arrangements has become unbearable, so much that my father is going to be here tomorrow to take me away to live with him. I won't elaborate on how all of this came about, but here's my question:

 

Is this going to ruin my life? I don't want to be one of those dysfunctional children who keeps moving around and never amounts to anything in life.

No, although you did cross my mind as I typed it. Your circumstances were different. I meant more along the lines of the kid who goes from relative to relative, always being kicked out or forced away.

 

Things may iron themselves out by tomorrow, but not bloody likely. I left the house tonight to go to a friend's to cool off for a bit, and when I returned, the little bit of packing I'd done had been undone.

Maybe it's a sign that whomever (mom, dad.. whoever) felt that you should have a talk with them before you making a big decision about leaving.

Actually, the folks I live with look at it more as a possession thing, like I'm theirs and I can't leave because of that. The same reasoning gives them the right to throw all the junk and garbage of the house into my room because "it's my house, and I'll put stuff wherever I want!!"

I don't know how this can ruin your life now, since you're not a "child" who won't amount to anything. I thought you were like 19 or something. If you were on that academic team or whatever, I suppose you don't have to worry about not having the intelligence to do something.

moving around lots sucks. I was in foster care from 13 till 17 and was in like 20 homes.
