Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2002 Obviously I'm a she! Why do you think of banners of all the hotties of WWE? Oh wait, some guys have banners of guys........well, there goes my "obvious" argument out the window. How did I get into the WWE? LOL, funny lil story.... One of my mom's buddy's (or EX-buddys I should say) cable went out. So, he asked me if I could tape the shows for him. I'm like, sure no prob. My mom was away at work, so I'd just cruise the net while taping. Of course, little by little, I'd glance over. This started, I think, in November last year. Although if you asked me what happened during those times, I probably couldn't tell ya. But the main thing that pulled me in? Ironically, SC. When Vince called him out for the Kiss My Ass club, I'm thinking....whatever. Then SC crotched Vince, I'm like WTF?!?! IS HE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?! (This was the time before the net.....*sigh*) I was totally buying it... (thus caused me to mark out....but, with the net now, hardly anyone marks out....) I do remember mom ordering Vengeance (last december) and I'm just rolling my eyes. She was a HUGE Rocky mark. Mainly because she thought he was a 'hotty'. I started my tape collection at Rumble....and it's escalated to 11 tapes (10 completed, halfway through the 11th one right now). When I read that X-Pac was coming in (I read the spoilers), I"m like...who the f is he??? He didn't impress me in the least. Of course, those damned short shorts....... I don't know when I got into slash writings (for those that care)...I just know I'm majorly into it now.

Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted December 26, 2002 On another note, just watched the X7 video and gave me goosebumps again.. The only problem in that video is the moment the song abruptly cuts to Vince saying: I present the new manager of the Rock....Mrs. Stone Cold Steve Austin..other than that yes, I've probably watched the video more than the match. I also love the Austin/Bret video from WM

Guest Army Eye Report post Posted December 26, 2002 Austin DID suck in 2002, really bad, so I can understand where you're coming from. Before that he was tremendous though, and he DID bring more to his matches than kick, punch, stunner, especially in '96-'97 and 2001. He also is one of the all time great interviews; he wasn't always a one-track promo with the WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? He did hog TV time even more than HHH though. Maybe that's a bad thing, if you think the talent controls such things. ("What, I'm only in four segments tonight? Put me in 6 cause Stone Cold said so!") Whatever you do, don't put much stock into all the backstage talk that goes on in this forum. These people think they know what goes on, but for most of them, the stories and theories they spout are pure fantasy, just like your 'slash' stories. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted December 26, 2002 Rock/Hogan had an okay video package, but they should have had some Classic Hogan footage going in or something. The best video package, yes even better than X-7, was right before the Invasion main event. They had that dramatic music going (I've heard it before, but can't recognize it) along with everything from the stereo chokeslams to the RVD five-star and so on and so on. Along the way you got all these voice clips.. "This is it! There's no going back!" "We're going to find who the real tough is, and who's the crazy (unintelligable?)" "We're going to kick WCW and ECW's ass!" "Shane and I don't play fair! We play dirty!" (echoing) "The most dominant. Th-The-The most dominant..." (?? unsure on this one) "DEATH TO SPORTS-ENTERTAINMENT! DEATH TO THE WWF!" EDIT: And yes Army Eye, Austin did hog TV time. The worst thing is that Austin's storylines (whether he was stalking HHH, or Vince was looking for him in "Texas", or visiting Vince in the hospital, or he was CEO of the company, or he was destroying cars, or whatever) happened in constant little vignettes that were either pre-taped or backstage. Very little actually happened in the ring, and since it was a constant little story that went on all night, it ate up in the midcard's time.
Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted December 26, 2002 Wrestlemania 10. The bret hart video package was good for the time. Plus it had Tom Petty as the musical choice. Yuna I get the feeling you won't last long on this board, maybe I'm wrong, but I get the feeling you know very little about wrestling. You can't go back and compare austin to trips now because Austin was used in almost every segment because whenever he was on television ratings went up back in 1998. Plus their undercard was weak, as opposed to now when they have virtually every star available on their roster. yuna if you are just into wrestling for the guys this probably isn't the right board for you

Guest SP-1 Report post Posted December 26, 2002 X-7's Rock/Austin video. The, "I decide when I wake up" NWO intro from Mick. Those two hold a special place to me. And go easy on Yuma, eh? Perhaps if we take the time to drop some knowledge on those that are relatively new to all this, it'll produce better conversation around here. Biting someone's head off because of physical attraction to a wrestler is kinda weak. If that's the case, ChrisMWaters is in serious trouble. As am I once Gail Kim is more prominent. Lighten up, peeps.
Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted December 26, 2002 I have no problem with the fact that she likes wrestlers but it seems as if the only reason she watches is because of her attraction to them. It would be like me only watching WWE because of trish stratus. While there is nothing wrong with that, I feel this board wouldn't be the place I would come to because we usually discuss wrestling itself. Hell maybe she knows more about wrestling than I think, I'm not saying she shouldn't come here I am just saying if she wants to discuss how much she likes the men of the wwe she probably won't get much of a discussion going on this board. Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted December 26, 2002 Getting back to the subject at hand... While I really liked the "My Way" music video for Austin v Rock, the absolute best music video in WWF/E history is the "Lonely Road Of Faith" one that Flair played on Raw when Vince was bringing in the NWO. Best ever. Period.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted December 26, 2002 WRESTLEMANIA X-7 WWF CHAMPIONSHIP: STONE COLD VS THE ROCK ("My Way" begins. Clip of a bloody Stone Cold destroying Kane with a chair at RR 01.) JR: "Stone Cold! Stone Cold Steve Austin will be in the main event of WrestleMania! King: Oh hell yeah! (Clip of The Rock beating Kurt Angle at NWO 01, and posing with the belt.) JR: The Rock has won the WWF Championship! The Rock is going to WrestleMania! (Clips of various Austin/Rock staredowns. Vinishes with The Rock "stalking" Austin ready to hit him with the Rock Bottom.) (Clip of Debra on RAW with McMahon) JR: Mrs. Stone Cold Steve Austin Vince: It is in the intrest of fairness that I inform you, that officially as of now, you are managing... THE ROCK JR: What the hell is that! (Clips of The Rock and Debra posing while Austin looks *pissed*) Rock: I never asked for Debra as my manager. I never wanted Debra to be my manager. But the fact of the matter is this: She's not my responsibility, she's not my wife. She's yours. (Clips of Kurt Angle putting Debra in the anklelock. Austin runs in destroys Angle, and stuns Rock.) JR: Angle is gonna break Debra's ankle for God's sake! Wait! It's the Rattlesnake! It's the Rattlesnake! Heyman: You never put your hands on another man's wife! Stunner! Austin warned The Rock! He said if anything happened to Debra, it would be The Rock's ass! (Clip of Austin/Rock pre-WrestleMania interview. Clips of Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle on SD! when The Rock gets involved. Rock beats up Angle, goes for Rock Bottom on Austin, Angle breaks it up, gets Rock Bottomed, and Roick gets another Stunner.) Cole: Another Stunner! How will The Rock retaliate? (Clips of The Rock giving Austin the Rock Bottom and the Stunner (!)) Rock: Steve Austin! The Rock isn't waiting until WrestleMania. Your bald-headed, candy-ass belongs to The Rock. Heyman: How much more personal can this get? JR: CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT IT'S GONNA BE LIKE AT WRESTLEMANIA? ("My Way" segues in again. Widescreen clips of the famous "Steveweiser Staredown" that turns into a fistfight., Clips of various Stunners to The Rock and Rock Bottoms to Austin. Segues into clips of the Rock bleeding.) Rock: I'm going to give every drop of sweat, every drop of blood that I have. You're going to get the absoulute best of The Rock. (Clips of Austin posing.) Austin: I need to beat you Rock. I need it more than you can imagine. There can be only one WWF CXhampion. And after WrestleMania that will be me Rock. (Long pause) With all due respect. THAT is how you build a feud. X-7 was better than InVasion's if only for the Steveweiser Staredown segment where the first punch is timed perfectly with the music change.

Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2002 I don't watch WWE just because of the guys, or because I like to write my stories. If that was true, why would I take the time to watch Heat? Because of slash...no. Because I want to figure out what Raven's damned Masterpiece is! NOW he's moving to Raw, but I'll still watch Heat....and Velocity....and Confidential every week. Should anyone ask me why I watch WWE, I say 1)Entertainment (Kurty and Benoit segments, Eddy's span-english, Stevie and Victoria....etc, etc) 2)Matches (Cruiserweights, Smackdown 6, etc, etc) 3)The guys (of course they're on the list) But, back on topic (hey, it's my topic and I can rant if I want to!).... I've always wanted to see WX-7, but now I REALLY want to! And....my local vid store doesn't have it! *Sniffle* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! The best video package, yes even better than X-7, was right before the Invasion main event. (?? unsure on this one) "DEATH TO SPORTS-ENTERTAINMENT! DEATH TO THE WWF!" Yup, the Invasion intro was friggin' awesome. Another intro that comes to mind is Armageddon...the one with that 6-man cage match. It had clips of exploding houses, all the wrestlers involved in the match....all to the music of "The End". THAT was cool.

The very definition of posting just to see your name. Yuna just gracing us with your presance isn't enough you have to contribute. The video packages usually build up feuds. If you had watched wrestling as long as we have you'd know that. The best vidoe packages get you psyched to see these matches. Now now. Give her a break. She's gotten enough flak for things as is. I don't think any amount of time watching wrestling can teach you the art of appreciating a video package (and I've only been watching since Jan 99, although I have VCDs of some WCW/NWA PPVs.) I mean, some are snazzier than others. That pretty much describes it, doesn't it? Truth be told, I liked the Shawn/HHH video package, but it didn't get me psyched to see anything. I was still bracing myself for a terrible match from The Crippled Couple. To say it failed is kinda harsh, no?
