PPV DVD's

Recommended Posts

Guest BobBacklundRules

I've finally decided to put together a DVD collection of wrestling PPV's. It'll be made up of the best PPV of the year, each year, from all federations. I've started out with the WWE, Wrestlemania X7, and Summerslam 2002. I was wondering what the best ECW DVDs are from each year, and what other PPV DVD's you would recommend.

Best ECW DVD is Path of Destruction....and NO, i'm not shilling the damn review that's up top, it really is the best.

I simply recommend the WWE PPV's that had good cards because most don't come with great extras, except for the WrestleMania 2000 DVD. That has a 2nd disc with the history of Wrestlemania. X8, which is in my Archives, has the historic Hogan/Warrior match in its entirety as well as other great extras.

These weren't necessarily "PPVs" but the Ring of Honor DVDs. Can't go wrong there.

SummerSlam 2001, i thought was quite good with Austin/Angle and mostly every other match on the card at least decent except for Taker/Kane vs DDP/Kanyon.

There's only a few extras though.

I live in the UK, so we got a few hundred ECW DVD's for sale through Delta. If you got a PAL VCR I suggest Hardcore Heaven 2000, Barely Legal '97, Big Ass Extreme Bash.

Out of the U.S. ones, I recommend Path Of Destruction.

Rebellion 2001 is another good one. It was a UK event that took place right before the Alliance was ended at Survivor Series last year. It features Edge vs. Christian in a decent cage match, Jericho vs. Angle for the WCW title, and Austin vs. Rock for the WWF title.

Wasn't A Matter Of Respect better than Big Ass Extreme Bash?

I'm doing this because I'm on a limited budget and I'm trying to get a wrestling show dvd collection going.

What's the best ROH show from 02? So far I've got Barley Legal 97, Wrestlemania 17, Summerslam 02 and the next one I want to get is a ROH DVD.

get the ROH show that has American Dragon vs Daniels vs Low Ki

This wasn't released on dvd, only video. Only three ROH

dvds have come out so far, but they are taking preorders on all newer

shows. The very first ROH dvd should be avoided. The matches are not

broken down into tracks; you gotta watch through the whole thing like

a tape. They corrected this though, on their second dvd, and it also has

a bonus Low Ki vs. Eddy Guerrero match. I've heard that their 3rd DVD

only has one camera angle, as it was shot at a different venue than

usual, so you might want to avoid that.

A good dvd is PWF's Vast Energy. Most of the big name indy guys are on

it and it also has Shinjiro Ohtani & Masato Tanaka. The crowd is kinda dead

though. It comes with a bonus dvd that is full of interviews and bloopers.

PWF dvd here

I've heard that the MLW Reload show was good. I haven't read any

comments about the dvd yet, though.
