Steel Domain Wrestling Presents YEAR END SLAM '02

Steel Domain Wrestling, the #1 independent wrestling promotion in

Minnesota, is about to conclude the year 2002 with a bang! On Saturday

night, December 28th, SDW will present YEAR END SLAM 2002 at SDW’s home

arena, the Armory in West St. Paul Minnesota. YEAR END SLAM ’02 will

feature NINE big matches including TWO championship affairs, an “UPPER

MIDWEST DREAM MATCH,” and several more matches with implications on the

SDW Heavyweight and Television title pictures.

Main Event for the SDW Heavyweight Championship: LENNY LANE vs. ADRAIN

LYNCH.

Since defeating Magnus Maximus for the SDW Heavyweight title back in

August, Lenny Lane has been unstoppable. Lane, who is a former WCW

Cruiserweight Champion, has fought off challenges from competitors such

as Kamikaze Ken Anderson, Austin Aries, and JB Trask. The challenger,

Adrian Lynch, is a former SDW Television champion, who has been hungry

for gold ever since losing the TV strap to Mitch Paradise back in

September. Lane and Lynch were originally set to face off for the

strap last month at “November Knockout,” but Lynch was suspended by

promoter Ed Hellier. Hellier was reluctant to grant Lynch a shot that

the Championship, but Lane insisted on defending the belt in order to

prove to the fans of SDW that he is a fighting champion.

SCOTTY ZAPPA vs. MAGNUS MAXIMUS

When these two were tag team partners in “Maximum Carnage,” virtually

no one in SDW was safe from their wrath. These two close friends have

turned bitter rivals quickly, all due to one act of betrayal by Scotty

Zappa. At “November Knockout,” Zappa viciously attacked Magnus. While

no one knows the reasoning behind Zappa’s actions, many people within

SDW see Zappa as perhaps becoming jealous of all the opportunities his

partner Magnus was receiving in pro-wrestling. Once all of the smoke

was clear, Magnus made his intentions very clear to Zappa by saying “I

made you. Now I will break you.” These are undoubtedly two of the top

stars in SDW, and will wage a memorable war.

‘THE TRUTH’ AUSTIN ARIES vs. ‘THE HARDCORE LUCADORE’ DINO BAMBINO

This match will be sure to tear the ROOF off of the West St. Paul

Armory. Even though this will be taking place at the very last Steel

Domain Wrestling show of 2002, this match very well could be a late

breakout Match of the Year candidate. Each of these SDW Superstars

posses a ton of talent, a ton of cockiness, and a ton of desire to move

to the next level in professional wrestling. Many insiders are already

talking about how this match may end up being reminiscent of the Jerry

Lynn vs. Shawn Waltman matches of the early 1990s. With the addition of

this match, "YES '02" will undoubtedly be a memorable event.

MITCH PARADISE vs. KAMIKAZE KEN ANDERSON (w/ ALEXIS)

Both of these wrestlers will be competing at YES ’02 looking to rebound

from losses in Steel Domain Wrestling. At “November Knockout,” Mitch

Paradise lost his SDW Television Title to Tracy Smothers, mostly due to

Scotty Zappa’s outside interference. Kamikaze Ken Anderson was

unsuccessful last time out in a bid for the SDW Heavyweight

Championship against Lenny Lane. Both of these men are hungry to work

their way back into the title picture, so the SDW Championship

Committee will be watching this match-up between these two young stars

very closely.

TONY DENUCCI vs. ‘THE NATURAL’ MATT BURNS

After a layoff of four months, the self proclaimed “Prettiest Man in

Wrestling” Tony DeNucci will return to Steel Domain Wrestling.

DeNucci, who has one of the most chiseled physiques and some of the

most vicious knife-edge chops in wrestling today, in addition to his

ultra-cocky persona, will be taking on Matt Burns, a former SDW

Heavyweight Champion. “Burnsy”, who has been on a winning streak as of

late, would love nothing more than to add a victory over DeNucci to his

list. DeNucci will have other intentions though, such as inflicting

tons of pain upon Burns, and going home with several ladies in

attendance.

For the SDW Women’s Championship:

MISS NATURAL vs. VIXEN

It has been a while since either of these two has competed in a SDW

ring. This will be Miss Natural’s first visit to the West St. Paul

Armory. Natural has a ton of ability, but will have to fend off the

challenge of Vixen, who will be getting her first taste at a Women’s

title match in SDW.

‘OLD SCHOOL’ DARYCK ST. HOLMES vs. BIG DADDY HOOFER

Any opponent for ‘Old School’ St. Holmes is in for a challenge when

they face him, and Big Daddy Hoofer will be no exception at YES ’02.

Some may say St. Holmes’ style of wrestling is “outdated,” but no one

can question that it is effective against his opponents. Big Daddy

Hoofer, while he surely has been studying tapes of previous St. Holmes

matches, has somewhat of an unpredictable style of his own. “Hoof”

will more than likely have the West St. Paul fans behind him, too.

This should be a very competitive match.

‘LIVEWIRE’ JOHNNY PARKS vs. GAGE OCTANE (w/VIXEN)

Last month at November Knockout, Johnny Parks made his return following

a lengthy absence due to a knee injury. While he was unsuccessful in

his match against Scotty Zappa, he was successful in the sense that he

returned to the ring after many thought his career as an active

competitor was over for good. The man from Australia will have another

tough match at YES ’02 as he takes on Gage Octane. It has been several

months since we have seen Octane in an SDW ring, and he will surely be

bringing back with him his arrogance and his large repertoire of

offensive maneuvers.

Tag Team Action:

THE MALIBU SUN KINGS vs. ‘GOD’S GIFT TO WOMEN KEVIN KRUEGER’ and KUJO

This will be the Steel Domain Wrestling debut for the Malibu Sun Kings

as a team. The MSK’s hail from Hawaii and will likely be sporting tans

to indicate such. Everyone knows what Kujo and Krueger are capable as

a team, as they are both veterans in the upper Midwest.

The West St. Paul Armory is located on the northeast corner of Robert

St. and Emerson Ave. in West St. Paul, approximately two miles north of

I-494.

Admission at the door is $15 for adults, and a brand new lower price of

$5 for kids 12 and under. As always, this will be a TELEVISION TAPING

for KSTC 45's "SDW TWIN CITIES RINGSIDE," (which can be seen every

Saturday at 2pm) so if you want to be on TV, be sure to bring signs,

and be as crazy as you possibly can be.
