Guest EQ Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I'm sure most of you have heard of the defect on the second and third discs of the BTTF box set. My question is for those who have it already. is the problem noticable to the point where it takes away from the experience of watching the movies? I love all three of these movies and really want to get the set.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Just buy them anyway. They'll replace them if you send them in, so it will be no loss if you don't like them.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Well, now that I've seen all 3 films on DVD....I can honestly say that I didn't even notice it. Dames
Guest Bosstones Fan Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Honestly, I can't see a problem. Now granted, I'm not a movie buff or a home theater geek, but it is not a problem for me. My advice is to take RatsMilk's suggestion and just buy the thing, but send it in in February if you're not satisfied.
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I got it for Christmas, but your best bet is to: Buy the widescreen edition now Watch the 3 movies all you want Send for the replacement discs in February Like they said in the other thread, the corrected sets will cost more than the ones out now due to the remanufacturing. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 30, 2002 These supposed examples were posted on the other BTTF DVD thread. So can anyone who has seen part 2 or 3 confirm these examples as being accurate? If these examples are accurate then that is totally unacceptable. And i'm sorry, but anyone who wouldn't notice that butchery or have a problem with it are blind.

Yeah, but if you are someone like me who hadn't seen the "correct" version until now, then how would you know the difference?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Come on it's completely uncentered from top to bottom, he's pointing totally offscreen and there's a mile of uneeded sky above their heads. Anyone who's ever seen a movie should be able to see that something is horribly wrong.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 You know what....I'll find out right now.....that's the scene where doc goes to "resize" his jacket right? BRB. Dames
The Dames 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Ok....now, I just finished watching the scene that Satanico put up captures of and I am CONFIRMING....that they are indeed misframed. Now, having seen all three movies in the past few days, what I can say is this......if you're not looking for it, you won't notice it. I certainly didn't notice MJF's legs dangling while on the hoverboard or anything like that. But they ARE fucked up. Dames
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Thank you Detective Dames Now i just need to decide on what to do with my copy. Anyone have confirmation of a price change upon rerelease?
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Yeah, but if you are someone like me who hadn't seen the "correct" version until now, then how would you know the difference? Universal is counting on people to think exactly that way. Be glad you were able to find out the difference.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I ain't buying it until the correct copies come out, and I'm going to try to find a way to order them from a site that has verified correct versions. I might just wait until mid-march to give the incorrect versions time to empty out of stock.
