Better late than never:

 

I don't see how people can claim HHH never protected his spot in 2000. The feud with Jericho was the same thing he's pulling with Van Dam, Kane, and Bubba now.

 

Am I the only one who remembers the potentially-interesting Love Triangle angle with him, Steph, and Angle being ruined because Trips decided to turn it into an excuse to take jabs at Kurt's sexuality? Or when Angle was the heel champion Crips was still the #1 heel in the company?

 

The only time he dropped the title to someone was in a six man with Vince MchMahon lossing the match for him. I'm not trying to bash you guys for liking his 2000 run, but he was just as protected back then, if not more so.

 

HHH has always been this way, in my mind. I don't think much of him as a worker during that period, either, now that I've looked back on it.

Also, Rock beat him for the title at Backlash in a regular match (after Austin interference).

bps21: He did have some valid points about RVD in a column. Although, it is about his ring work, which as we've established has nothing to do with getting a push in WWE.
