Guest MrRant Report post Posted December 30, 2002 A couple movies fit this discription off the top of my head: Best of the Best - The first one was great. Second one was decent but then starting with the 3rd one it just went to pure cheese with just one guy fighting various ruffians. RoboCop - This has already been covered as it went from very good with the original to pretty good to swiss cheese by the 3rd. More later.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Jean Claude Van Dam movies, especially Desert Heat, this movie had Van Dam joy riding in the Desert then gets in trouble with the local rednecks, he eventually decides to save the town after getting some from Jamie Pressly who works at the diner while Mr Myagi is an Angel? Universal Soldier, 1st one was ok but went downhill it became direct to video
Guest MrRant Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Caged Heat was actually watchable but Caged Heat 2 just really sucked the big one.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Right off the top of my head? Batman, Superman, and Jaws.
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted December 30, 2002 In addition to the ones mentioned, I think the original Scream was surprisingly good, but the two sequels were horrible, IMO. The first Urban Legends was actually pretty good too, but the sequel was one of the worst pieces of crap I've had the mispleasure of paying seven bucks to watch in my entire life. As for Star Wars going from great to horrible, I'm assuming you are including the two most recently released installments, in which case I'll agree with you somewhat but also disagree with you. I don't think that the original is anything great (the last half hour or so is just horribly boring), the second is the best in retrospect and the third is just for the kiddies. I hate Episode I with a passion, but I felt that Episode II was one of the better of the five. I suspect that Episode III will be even better, as we'll finally get closure on so many things. Right off the top of my head? Batman, Superman, and Jaws. I think the saddest part of that is that all three of the first installments for each one of those are considered by many to be true classics, while their later sequels are considered jokes, which in end, have tarnished the legacy of all three franchises. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Sleepaway Camp The first one featurng the infamous shocking ending was great. The second on wasn't bad, but also nothing great. The third is very forgettable. The finished footage of part four is god awful crap.

Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Kickboxer Sasha Mitchell ruled, though. I thought Kickboxer 2:The Road Back was pretty damn good. I've only seen bits and pieces of 3 and 4, so I can't judge on them, but I know that 5, though it stars my personal fave, Mark Dacascos, has NOTHING to do with the Sloan brothers. In fact, one scene shows Dacascos reading a paper, and it has a headline that David Sloan was killed, and that's about the only tie-in to the series. Police Academy. I love them, but there was NO excuse for Mission To Moscow.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I respectfully disagree with one point that Chong made above. I think that Return of the Jedi was as dark as Empire, and culminated in a sad, but still satisfactory ending. While the Ewoks may have certainly been thrown in with children in mind, I don't think the rest of it was geared towards that crowd. I also think that Batman Returns was a better movie than the one before it, but agree that Forever and Batman and Robin were creative blunders. Especially the last one. Forever at least had an interesting psychological angle with Bruce going for it, and even though Jim Carey's version of "The Riddler" was insane and not quite the ultra smart evil genius better portrayed in the Animated Series, it was still entertaining to watch. They absolutely wasted Two-Face, though. Which pisses me off, frankly.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Silent Night Deadly Night Highlander Those two stand out to me more then any others I agree with you about Highlander, but since it was pretty cheese to begin with - hey, I love it as much as the next guy, but who are we trying to kid? - does it really count? Star Wars peaked with Empire, IMO, but it's definitely tailed off. Just more proof that Lucas needs to step aside and let someone else play in his yard. Lethal Weapon got progressively worse. The only thing about 4 was Jet Li.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I think Lethal Weapon 2 and 3 lacked what the original had, but I liked 4. I thought it was well written for the kind of film it was, and established what the two characters had built between themselves. IMO, anyway.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted December 30, 2002 oh, and 'the lawnmower man'. can't forget that one, with even the advertised subtitle going from 'beyond cyberspace' to 'jobe's war'.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I liked all the Rocky movies until Rocky V. Rocky V was still OK, but it wasn't as good as the others. So, if it's true they are making a Rocky VI, it will probably be god-awful.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Batman. Tim Burton made the franchise, then 3 & 4 killed it...at least temporarily. Michael Keaton made a great Batman. Rocky. Loved them all but V was lacking...and it's upsetting to this day how he ended up poor. Stallone's kid can't act his way out of a wet paper bag.

The third is very forgettable. The finished footage of part four is god awful crap. The first one was very good for what it was, and the ending did kick ass...as a whole I liked part 2 better. Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I also think that Batman Returns was a better movie than the one before it, but agree that Forever and Batman and Robin were creative blunders. They absolutely wasted Two-Face, though. Which pisses me off, frankly. How'd they waste Two-Face? Tommy Lee Jones made an excellent Two-Face, IMO. Plus, I liked the...umm...place they built for him, with the innocent gal on one side, and the kinky gal on the other. "Batman and Robin" may have been not as great as "Batman Returns", but it was okay. Am I the only one that cringed when they infected that one dude with that toxin? And what is with the neon gangs? They were................interesting. Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy were very entertaining in their roles, just like Riddler and Two Face before them, just like Catwoman and Mr. Penguin before THEM. The series is great for the villains, even if the superheros are boring. Although Penguin eating a raw fish and biting a guy's nose, causing it to bleed, was also creepy. Back on topic, though... I think the James Bond series has really done too many sequels. I haven't seen any of the movies, but I'm sure I could sum up a Bond movie easily: Evil guy wants to do something bad to the world, Bond shows off a bunch of cool gadgets and (un)witty lines, Bond Girl also spouts some (un)witty lines, Bond and Bond Girl save the world. Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Batman and Robin was ok? Are you outta yer mind? That movie is in contention for worst ever... not just in the series. Ever.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted December 30, 2002 How'd they waste Two-Face? Tommy Lee Jones made an excellent Two-Face, IMO. Because it was NOTHING like Two-Face for one thing. They just tried to make him exactly like the Joker from the first movie. And secondly, he never DID anything. He did nothing but play second fiddle to the Riddler for the entire movie. Personally, I liked Forever overall but I hated what they did to Two-Face. Hell, all 4 movies suck balls, but Forever at least had Val Kilmer would could've been a great Batman with the right script and it had some funny moments. Guest SP-1 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 As Lethargic said, Two-Face in Returns was a pathetic shadow of the evil gangster bastard established in the comics (and even in the Animated Series). Now, I don't disagree at all with Tommy Lee Jones taking the role. It'd have been just as cool to see Billy Dee Williams reprise the role since he was Harvey in the first Batman. But if it was a script with split-boy in the lead, being truly disfigured and schizophrenically evil, it would have been thrice the movie it turned out to be. but I still think the psychological angle is what makes it at least watchable. That was really cool. Batman and Robin was just a total waste of money and time for all involved. Freeze lacked the heart and sorrow that drives him, Ivy wasn't threatening at all, Bane, the man that broke Batman's back in the comics, was turned into a glorified chauffer, and Bats and Robin themselves were more like their goofy 60's incarnations than ever before. The only thing I even remotely like about the film is Clooney's performance as Bruce Wayne. He'd make an alright Wayne if it was a real Batman movie and not a piece of crap. Don't even get me started on Batgirl. Bah.

The biggest problem was when they ran out of Fleming novels, and had to write their own scripts instead of adapt them from the books. Not one of the Bond movies from The Living Daylights onward has been anything more than somewhat good.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 31, 2002 I actually enjoyed Batman & Robin. :ducks the rotten tomatoes: Was it a good movie...no. Was it as good as the other movies...no. However i love the 60's TV show and enjoyed Batman & Robin because of that.
