Raven's Masterpiece

Recommended Posts

Guest evilhomer

So they've covered a couple of deadly sins, Jackie covering Pride, and the jobber covering Greed I believe, so who's next?

Gluttony - Big Show and Rikishi are the obvious choices for this one, but with them on Smackdown, could this be the return of Bastion Booger

Anger - Tommy Dreamer, always been an angry guy

Sloth - Kevin Nash, please, please let it be Kevin Nash

Lust - Victoria/Stevie, right before they join him

Envy - Raven, completing the masterpiece and completly copying the movie, Raven will himself be guily to Envy, probably of Test (joy  ). Maybe they'll also copy Fight Club and let Raven beat the hell out of himself.

Is their a sin called stupidity? Cause it would be the WWE for killing this angle on sunday night heat. They killed it in order for Raven to be allowed back on Raw.

Yeah, seriously. I mean, I was looking forward to the next few weeks of Heat, just to see Raven and his "masterpiece". And Heat was just starting to get some credibility, too! At least I think it was...at least it had an actual..*gasp*..storyline, unlike Velocity.

I'd be surprised if WWE didn't continue the story on Raw. Without it, what other storyline does Ravey have?

I'm not gonna call the masterpiece over just yet. Just since he is back on Raw, doesn't mean Raven has to stay by the rules that Morely put out, maybe he still will continue with the masterpiece and defy the rules.

They killed the masterpiece??? :firing: Heat was bumped last night in favour of the ever exciting curling tournament so I didn't hear about that. What's the point of putting him on Raw if their not going to give him an angle to run with? I'm hoping they go with the rebellious Raven who spits in the face of authority and does what he wants.

Rebellious Ravey? Yummy! I hope they finally ditch the kilt, and go back to cut-off jeans and the leather jacket.  Or at the very least, stick to the black pants and the odd-looking open jacket with no shirt underneath. The example of this outfit is what he wore when he "challenged" Lawler to an impromptu match on Raw. For reference sake, that RAW is also the one where Nash returned as the leader of the nWo, and Eddy Guerrero proudly displayed his awful singing skills. There's a name for the jacket, but I can't think of it.

Since I never watch HeAt, what is this materpiece you are speaking of?

Raven said that he would start being the salvation to those who show one of the 7 deadly sins. Basically if you've ever seen Se7en w/Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, it's the same motive as the killer's reasoning.

Wait...he "broke" Jackie and a jobbers fingers?

Could ECW Raven be returning?

What if WWE bribed Jake Roberts to return for a short stint as "cult" Leader, calling themselves Ravenaleans, as the angle ends up being that the Masterpiece was made to bring back the Snake.

According to Dave Meltzer last night on the Observer Live show Raven could be in for a big push and will feud with Test. Dave also hinted that Stacy might end up leaving Test for Raven.

If Stacy does turn on Test I really hope it is more in the vein of the "Masterpiece" angle, and NOT, the "ooh, I bumped my head, got amnesia, and now I forgot I hate Raven" with Test trying to win her back through a series of matches.

Color me a cynic, but am I the only one that thought they killed off the "masterpiece" angle because they had NO IDEA what to do with it?!? So, rather than just let it disappear like they do with almost every other angle, they came up with this angle to do away with it?

PLEASE prove me wrong WWE, I've been dying for a good Raven angle since he was wasted in WcW ... and I thought that this masterpiece angle could provide the Raven goodness that we've been looking for.

To be honest, nl5xsk1, I think his wCw run was the high point for Raven, at least in terms of character development (the disjointed and maladjusted rich kid searching for an identity, who ultimately became what his wealthy family despises). And in a way, it even offered a direct link from his old Johnny Polo character to Raven, if willing to read that deep into it.

But yes, thus far into his WWFE run, he hasn't had a very fair chance to get over, and the masterpiece angle could have been the chance had it been allowed to play itself out.

Wait, what the F happened? What's with the masterpiece?

Raven was hyping this "masterpiece" that would immortalize him. He talked about it for a few weeks after he won the D'Lo feud, but never giving it away until it started.

Wait...he "broke" Jackie and a jobbers fingers?

He was probably going to break Jackie's fingers, but before he even got ready to attack her, Hurricane made the save and beat him in subsequent match.

He broke the fingers of Aaron Stevens first, some jobber who appeared on two Heats in a row. They actually put him over as cocky the first week where he lost to Stevie in the Heat main event, and the second, he had a little backstage skit with Raven. His sin was pride.

The second jobber was I think named Mike Fox, who lost to Rikishi the day or week before on Velocity. Raven brought him a boxed lunch and offered him money to eat Raven's sandwich for him. The guy agreed, and Raven asked if he woul eat if Raven threw it on the floor. He hesitated, but Raven upped the offer, so he agreed again. Then Raven took off his shoe and sock and rubbed his foot in it and the guy was all, "No dice, you crazy." Raven eventually worked his way up to around 500 dollars, and the guy went to eat it off the floor. He bends over, Raven knocks him on the back of the skull with his boot, and then breaks his fingers and throws the money next to him. Greed.

Anyway, on the last Heat, Morley offered him a chance to get back on Raw if he dropped the masterpiece. All he had to do was beat Tommy Dreamer, who sent him to Heat in the first place. He was reluctant, but agreed and beat Tommy.

Raven on Raw.

Raven should feud with HHH. Think about they're perfect foils for each, the opposite in every way. They both use garbagy styles so the matches could be cool too.

I agree with you with that one. Raven would be kick ass against HHH.

The victims shall be Raven and whoever was involved after the writers "forget" about the angle.

No no no, silly kids. Here's how everything shall go down.

HHH will begin to get over as a cocky face after he questions Scott Steiner's choice of "freaks." Meanwhile, someone will be playing mind games with Michaels. It will turn out to be Jericho who hired Raven to complete "his" masterpiece. When the angle gets hot, HHH will emerge from the shadows, hit HBK with a sledgehammer and put on the black glove and deliver his heel turn spiel. This will set up HBK/HHH for WM leaving Raven, Steiner, and Jericho to meaningless feuds with midcarders.

Later on HHH will be on the brink of yet another face turn but will side with the power hungry Michales as they recreate the Two Man power trip with Austin as manager. Ric Flair will be there just to look good next to HHH in a suit.

Raven's angles always fail in the big 2 because there is too much to them for the midcard to bother the writers with. In WCW, it looked like he was going to do something major with all those viginettes from his "house" yet it went nowhere. In WWE, Raven started the "masterpiece" and now it looks like that could be over. I am thinking that in order for these bigger-type angles to be executed with 90% of the marks interest in tact, they would have to spend a lot MORE time with Raven getting TV exposure, and I just don't think the writers are willing to put forth that effort when they have already commited 75% of every show to Triple H.

By contrast, in ECW, Raven was THE man(before Taz) he was the top heel with a cult following and he had the huge push he needed. So there was never a question as to whether he would get over or not. Raven's nest and his promos and "mind games" were pure genious, because ECW did what it took to get him over.

Taz was only the man, when no one else was left and RVD was way more popular. When Taz beat shane douglas for the title it started my least favorite 8 month title fun in the companies history. In my opinion the main men in ECW went Shane Douglas to Sandman to Raven back to Douglas and finally to RVD, with Dreamer always in the top mix but never The Guy.

As for Raven, after what he pulled during his last ECW stint I could care less if he is pushed. He was given a big contract, for ECW, became lazy and unmotivated, gained a ton of drinking weight, lost all desire to put on good matches and generally sucked. That is until his contract was almost up, he then got in shape and began trying again to get into the wwe.
