The Owen Hart Tribute Tonight

Holy shit, get your facts straight before commenting.

Isn't that Bulldog's ex-wife or something who wrote the smear book? Or am I thinking of someone else? And what was in the book that made you hate Vince more?

No, it's a book written by Owen's widow Martha Hart. You are thinking of Diana Hart's book "Under The Mat". Martha's book is about her life with Owen. Martha makes you realise just how loving of a father and husband Owen was, making you wish that Vince hadn't asked for the stunt in the first place, also, Vince's lawyers had some bad tactics.

Regardless of people's emotions, I don't doubt many would feel they would be getting ripped off if they got zero to two matches.

Yes they would, because they were not told about the death. Also, they would have payed alot of money for two matches.

Why not? Also, is it just me, or was there new that came out at the time that management made Austin come out and do the toast, and he really didn't want to because he never really forgave Owen for what happened to him?

It was very much "sports entertainment" right there. Owen didn't like the new Attitude, like SCSA beer drinking. Also, Owen was not much of a drinker himself.

What was the "Best Bow Tie" award?

Ugh, it was a Slammy Award.

Huh? Do you mean "some people" instead of "hardly anyone"? And Trips and Chyna aren't that good of actors, so I can't see any doubt their words were genuine. Shane's part I don't remember.

I dont know for sure if the words Triple H said were true, so I can't comment.

How would Bret know? Then again, I don't remember Shane's story or when he said it happened ...

Dont know, I'll take Passanger's answer.

I don't remember anyone being less than friendly in the tribute. Who?

They just didn't sound like they knew Owen at all.

There was an Owen bio on A&E?

Well, duh...

And one (more) question about the Owen show ... did Mark Henry write that poem, or was it something already published somewhere?

He wrote it.

I was a mark when Owen died so I did not know the love the IWC had for him until I started going on other wrestling sites besides WWF.Com in 2000.

Even though I was a mark who booed Owen cuz he was a heel, I was heartbroken when I heard that he died. I actually felt guilty for booing him all this time. I don't wish death on anyone, no matter who it is. I didn't cry but I got misty-eyed and there is always a sick feeling in my stomach whenever I think about him and think that if he was still alive and didn't retire, he could have had awesome matches with Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and Chris Jericho once they came to the WWF.

It's been 4 years and I'm a smark. I have been watching old WWF pay-per-views and read reviews and now I relize what a nice guy Owen really was. A loving family man. A great performer. And I also feel bad for the way he died. That's a horrible way to die! And so young too. That is what really hits me and hurts the most.

I really hate the fact that I didn't watch WWF programming from 1994-1998 (I didn't like the product so I stopped watching all together and kept to WCW until Stone Cold and DX's populatrity and the fact that all my friends talked about it all the time brought me back to it but that's another story). I wish I could have seen more of his matches during that time. I hate the fact that I didn't apperciate his contribution to pro wrestling in the form of excellent matches until he died.

R.I.P. Owen Hart

I thought that the whole thing was tasteless.

Jesus Christ, did they actually have to continue with the fucking storylines? I remember watching that night and thinking "Why don't they just air some of Owens best matches?".

The fact that the WWF said they would 'never forget' Owen, yet never remember him either when they are in KC or on the anniversary of his passing is just so.... WWF. I believe last week was the only time they directly mentioned him on WWF tv - at least from what I have seen.
