Okay, how about your LEAST favorite moments

Recommended Posts

Guest jester

Taking a cue from Downhome's favorite moments of 2002 thread, what were your least favorite moments? Here are mine:

1. RVD, screwed out of the title time and time again.

2. Katie Vick. Produced one good moment: Goldust's confession that he had sex with a dead person. Totally screwed up Kane, who looked like he might get over as a big loveable goof.

3. Two championship belts. One given to HHH, and it still being treated like a big deal.

4. "I know you wanted that title shot Austin, but I promise I'll make it up to you. Tonight you'll team up with Bradshaw against the NWO." Three weeks in a row.

5. Flair being turned into HHH's loveslave.

6. THE ANGLE THAT WOULD NOT DIE. The Al Wilson/Torrie/Dawn Marie shit.

7. HHH playing "Murder Shhhe Wrote" looking for HBK's attacker, and making the entire locker room look like bitches in the process.

8. Lawler's commentary. Specifically "Molly's a virgin!" "Molly's fat ass" and worst of all "HLA JR! HLA JR! HLA JR! HLA JR! HLA JR! HLA JR! HLA JR! HLA JR!" repeat ad nauseum.

9. "Boy, this is sure better than Monday Night Football." Odds are it wasn't better than MNF, and since they stopped doing this so quickly, my guess is that they noticed a lot of people were changing the channels after these comments.

10. Stephanie is face. No wait, she's a heel. Ok, she's a face again. Hold on she's a heel. I mean a face. Yes, she's quite definitely a face. But now she's a heel. No sooner do I type that, than she's a face again. And why is she on my TV, harassing my wrestlers anyway?

11. HHH exposing Angle's thong. Supposedly humiliating, but if I had an ass like Angle's, I'd wear thongs too.

12. WWF becomes WWE. All you had to do was play ball Vince.

13. Every time the announcers made it clear that HHH was the most important wrestler ever, and clearly the real reason we were watching the show.

14. Jackie Gayda, undoing what little credibility women's wrestling had left.

Funny how a lot of these have to do with a certain boss' daughter bangin' steroid hound.

The Austin/Flair angle. Especially him "peeing" on Arn...that was SOO NOT needed! I'm not sure if Double A is a legend in wrestling or not, but still, that was quite unnecessary. (I probably spelled that wrong..*sigh* )

Katie Vick storyline. I was bitchin' about this during HHH's promo (you know the one..where he says Kane is a rapist and stuff) to my guy pal. I'm saying how it's NOT needed in WWE and he didn't seem bothered by it. When asked why, he said he didn't find the whole angle offensive...just dumb.

The nWo become Austin's bitches/jobbers.

Anything having to do with Hogan and motorcycles. The only good thing about HOG-an stealing 'Taker's bike is we got to see the leather coat on UT... UT's retaliation? Dragging Hogan around on the floor, while both UT and Hogan looked completely dumb. That has got to be the dumbest thing ever....

The announcers angle. Although Lillian was very brave to take that bump and trusting her life in Rosie and Jamaal's hands.

Nowinski/Molly virgin angle. Nowinski talking about "bursting through Molly's hymen" was WAY too much info. Besides, what guy talks like that? Although I hate any time an angle is dropped, I think I'll make an exception with this one.

HLA...the MOST annoying catch-phrase of them all. King made SURE to drill it into our heads enough times too. And they actually made a t-shirt for this!?!? Although Stephy kicking Bischoff in the southern regions was kinda funny.

EDIT: Speaking of angles being dropped, what the hell happened to Bischoff and Steph kissing? It happened......then not a damned thing came out of it.

Aside from the usual moments (i.e HLA, Katie Vick, Kiss My Ass club):

--Hurricane's move from SD to Raw and subsequent burial

--any HHH or HBK promo (Zzzz....)

--Austin's face turn - while the heel character was bad for business, he was the most entertaining (to me) he had been in years. Once he turned face, his promos were awful, and his matches weren't much better. Chalk it up to problems w/ the creative team, but still...

--lack of meaningful pushes for the likes of Booker, RVD, and Jericho - arguably the most over guys on Raw, but stuck treading water in the mid-card

--Lawler's Raw comentary

--Bradshaw & Buba pushes

--any occurrence of Rikishi's "stink face"

How do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways...

1. The nWo debuts - Yes, let's rehash a tired old gimmick from a company that WENT OUT OF BUSINESS, because history can't possibly repeat itself, right?

2. Bischoff debuts - Shock value and whatnot withstanding, I hate the lazy concept of general managers/commissioners/presidents running a wrestling show. It takes a lot of the focus away from the actual wrestlers and promotes those stupid backstage skits and deus ex machinas that grind the shows to a halt. If the writers can't think of more inventive ways to get the matches on TV, then the whole system needs an entire overhaul. Plus, I think Bischoff is boring and unappealing as an on-screen character.

3. Stephanie returns - So she lost a match and was banned from TV forever. What happened? She brings nothing to the table but a self-serving ego and an unwillingness to maintain the focus of the shows on the actual performers, plus she can never decide if she's a face or a heel, thus causing the audience to pay more attention to her to figure it all out. I won't even go into her absolutely horrific writing which would have killed off the company sooner if Heyman hadn't been given the book.

4. HBK returns - The Showstopper wheels his crippled Jesus-stroking self back onto TV, buddies up with his power-wielding Kliq buddy, gets the Big Fake Gold Belt, and proceeds to kill fan interest at an alarmingly fast rate. Now, who said this would be a good idea? I place all the blame on you.

5. Jericho's Undisputed Title reign derailed by the real Fac-gime - Dog poop. That's it in a nutshell, eh?

6. RVD's de-push - Specifically his quick exits at both the Rumble and SurSer. Say what you want about his lacking that Main Event style, but when the fans are practically begging for this guy to be given the ball and are denied time and time again, can you blame them for losing interest in not only RVD but the product as a whole? It's a concrete indication that this political bullshit is killing off interest like gangrene, and delaying the triage will only expediate their imminent demise.

7. Hogan and UT getting title reigns - Putting the belt on those two dinosaurs was a slap in the faces to the younger, hungrier, more talented and more devoted guys on the roster. Thankfully they were used as fodder for Lesnar's monster push, which has evidently paid off quite nicely.

8. Flair's heel turn - He gets beaten by an irate Jericho, then a couple of months later, he's buddy buddy with him? Shit like that makes me marvel at how stupid they must think we all are, like we wouldn't remember it.

9. Jerry Lawler - From the HLA debacle to Molly's granny panties, he has done nothing to further the Fed's endeavors to push the Women's roster as more than just T&A. He needs to go. Now.

10. Get the F Out - Jobbing to the Panda was a major bitchslap, and Vince took it like a redneck girlfriend on Jerry Springer. Definitely the biggest blow since the steroid trial of '94.

The run-in we all knew was going to occur, but didn't want: HGH during RVD/HBK. That moment, I knew that the Weeeee didn't care about me, and no longer gave me a reason to care about them. I haven't watched since and I don't think that is going to chance anytime soon.

Sure it was annoying...but enough to stop you from watching? I think that's going a bit too far. The run-in made sense because RVD was the reason HHH was in the hospital, and we all the story between HHH and HBK. Besides, didn't this set up next week's match of HHH vs RVD, w/ HBK as Special Ref?

- Jericho jobbing to JOHN CENA at a PPV

- Ric Flair turning on RVD and giving HHH the win at Unforgiven.

- Kurt Angle winning the #1 Contendership match for Wrestlemania, then losing it the next day.

One single incident isn't enough to keep someone from watching, but that moment described all that is wrong with WWE, and especially RAW, right now. I can understand that it was the final blow for some of us.

RVD vs HBK was a dream match for many wrestling fans, especially for fans of RVD and HBK of course. It should have been on PPV, but they put it on RAW instead. Then they just do some slow spots, the "reborn HBK" from Summerslam is nowhere to be seen, instead we get lame ol' Shawn Michaels. Before the match can go anywhere HHH runs in and just kills RVD with one pedigree, making the match a no contest. That's just sooo lame. RVD stays out of the ring to show how devastating and great the pedigree is while HHH and Michaels repeat the Summerslam ending in the ring. RVD is once again just a side attraction, even though he's more over than both men in the ring. I knew it was coming, but somwhere in my mind I still had a small glimpse of hope that WWE would do something right for a change.

That pissed me off more than any other moment this year, and that's saying something.

Matt Hardy getting over on his own, and subsequently getting buried. This made me realize we were watching WCW-redux.

The nWo fiasco, post-WM.

HHH coming back.

Anything with Al Wilson.

The IC belt dies.

HHH coming back.

Making Eric Bischoff look like a loser at every opportunity, usually at Stephanie's expense. Why bring the guy in in the first place, then?

Stephanie being named SD GM instead of Shane.

HHH coming back.

Jericho's emasculation, pre-WM.

Did I mention HHH coming back?

Let's not forget JIM FREAKING ROSS beating WILLIAM REGAL.

Come on, the Dudleys interfered and he used brass knuckles. That's not that bad. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was a main event match.

Making Kane look bad is a good thing. The only good thing to come out of Katie Vick.

My picks

The entire Angle/Edge feud

Jobbing Benoit to Bubba.

I wouldn't say HHH coming back was that bad, as at the time, although never a big fan, I was looking forward to his return, but his Raw is HHH return, was over the top, and when he won the rumble, I was so pissed off!

So, worse moments:

HHH winning the rumble.

Jericho dog poo/Steph's bitch angle

as well as most mentioned above, I started to hate Rosey and Jamal when they stopped ending bad segments to causing bad matches.

Ah, but HHH coming back led to most of the other shit we saw this year. Without HHH, how would the year have gone?

So, HHH coming back must be the worst moment of the year.

In hindsight, it's the worst thing of the year, I agree with that, but at the time, it didn't seem so bad

Whereas Lucy the dog, Katie Vick, and the bradshaw push were immedeatly spotted as crap.

I'll throw in a vote for the "tag champs running around naked being chased down by the Dudleys (...uh, did that sound right?) and the wonderful infomercial on 'asscream'-brand ass cream." moment.

Way to get over Jericho and Christian as a threat when they're the preparation H-using bitches of two woodbreaking hicks.

But still, they built up William Regal and Lance Storm, only to have them lose to JIM ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER!

William Regal and Storm should of went on to fued with Booker and Goldust.

My picks

The entire Angle/Edge feud

Why? It produce some awesome matches.

While in wasn't on the scale of the horrible Edge/Eddy feud, this was still Edge's period where EVERY SINGLE THING HE DID made the other guy look really, really bad.

Why? The matches were good. I just didn't enjoy watching a one sided feud where Angle was made out to be a bumbling moron.

Did you even watch the matches are just taking out of your ass?

Edge won a Judgement Day with a FLUKE roll up.

And Kurt Angle was kicking his ass most of the match.

Same with Backlash, but this time with Angle winning clean.

Go watch the matches brutha.

Edge won a Judgement Day with a FLUKE roll up.

And then proceded to chase him all over the arena, knock him out with a SLEEPER HOLD, and shave his head. Then follow that up by killing him in a cage on Smackdown.

Same with Backlash, but this time with Angle winning clean.

Never mentioned again, never acknowledged by Edge.

The FEUD, not the MATCHES, per se.

I don't mind Kane...well, when they're not having him sleep for most of a tag team ladder match and then win it without a partner.

I don't think the NWO being made to look like bitches is a bad thing though. Perhaps because I hated the three guys in the WWE version. Anyway, they had plenty of time to not job clean or let someone get over on them in WCW, so Austin making them all squeal like piggies was fine by me.
