Guest converge241 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 So if A Smackdown wrestler win he gets a title shot and had to go through 29 other guys to do so.. then a raw wrestler will get a title shot anyway at WM as well anyway or vice versa. Should'nt they have some kind of stipulation that it will be a title match AND the main event of Wrestlemania and sell how important that is? I mean maybe they already said that on a show I missed, and if so, enlighten me....
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 There should be, yea. Because you know both World Titles will be defended, so there needs to be something extra for the Rumble winner.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 I would think since Brock / Angle is already a given, then a Raw guy will get the major title push, win the Rumble, and beat the snot out of Triple H at Mania (oops, ranting). I think they would give the Rumble to the guy that needs more of a push to the title picture. A Booker T, RVD, or Edge as opposed to a Brock, Angle, or Show. Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 31, 2002 It's pointless if you bill it as "THE MAIN EVENT" when you know if they get Rock/Goldberg THAT is what they will hype... It looks like mania will suffer from TOO many main events... Brock/Angle HBK/HHH Rock/Goldberg Hogan/Vince Austin/Beniot RVD/Jericho and more...
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 I belive that the winner of the rumble will get the main event title match. ...however, here's somethings I've always wondered about the Royal Rumble match: how do they decide who eliminates who in the match? Do they do random drawings for all of the numbers (doubtful), just some (less doubtful), or just pick the best spot for each person?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 31, 2002 Mostly it goes around if there is angle going on or if they are planning one. What I always wondered is...Do they even have a Drawing? Or does Patterson and ??? whoever the head writer is that year sit down and have a list.. AND go Pat: So, Who u wants for #13? ???: aH,Let's go with Rock. ? King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 I doubt they have a drawing, especially nowadays, because last year the Rumble had stories running through it. If they had a drawing, they probably wouldn't have had Kane in so early to be the ironman, they wouldn't have got Honky Tonk or Drew Carey against Kane, Maven might not have been any where near Undertaker's number. When they have storylines through it, they can't really do a draw. As for who eliminates who, it probably used to be inpromptu. Whne the ring was crowded, they'd probably know when to get eliminated, and told the nearest guy when they had to get dumped out. Now, it's almost certainly pre-determined. Guest converge241 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 i always thought it would be great if they knew who they want to win, but had a real random drawing to determine the order they enter a few days before hand, and then build the little storylines from that
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 I'd assume they'd make the Rumble winner the main event. Since it's gonna be Brock that's a given anyway, since the WWE title is still the REAL world title. Brock needs to win the Rumble since that's the only way he can get a title shot in the storyline since Angle and Heyman have vowed never to give Brock another shot. I like Brock having to defy the odds and win the Rumble to get his shot a lot more than just having Stephanie Mcmahon come out one day and say she's the boss so Brock gets a shot. Guest converge241 Report post Posted December 31, 2002 let me state i do think that they will get the main event but "storyline" wise, they should say it
