Guest papacita Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Tazz is getting better. I'd say Sean Mooney and Alfred Hayes.

Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Vince was pretty bad. But the worst was Rob Bartlett.

Guest papacita Report post Posted January 1, 2003 that fat wcw announcer from 2000 who no sold Muta's mist. I think that's Mark Madden...but I stopped watching WCW in 98 but I'm not sure. And I didn't think Vince was THAT bad.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Josh and "The Cat" on Velocity. Good GAWD do they ever ruin a match! Of course, I didn't watch WCW that much, sooo, I don't know if those two are the worst ever. On the subject of Mikey Cole/Tazz, I think those two are better than JR and King on Raw. Besides that, Mikey is MUCH better to look at than JR's mug. On a side note...what is with The Cat and "callin' his mama"? To a fan whose been around longer than I have, that probably makes sense. But to someone just hearing him for the first time, it makes absolutely NO sense...and quite frankly, it's extremely annoying.
Guest ShamRock Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Yuna,Josh just started announcing and The Cat isn't that bad.He actually knows the names of some moves unlike Cole.Cole just tries to sound cool by saying "That damn Undertaker is kicking Lesnar's ass!Damn it,somebody stop this!" Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted January 1, 2003 That's just The Cat's catchphrase! It'll grow on you, ummm . . . I think. Anyways, I would like to change my mind and say Mark Madden because, if nothing else, he made some VERY uncivil remarks against The Browns on ESPN Radio this year including that late owner of The Browns Al Learner saying that he died of a heart attack because of how bad The Browns were. I know that has nothing to do with wrestling, but for a fat chink of lard to say something like that gets put on my hit list! MillenniumMan831's Hit List: Mark Madden
Guest LatinoHeat Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Heh. The Browns arent that bad if they can make the playoffs. I really think they have a chance at beating the Steelers.
Guest Gathering Moss Report post Posted January 1, 2003 If we are just talking WWE than I would have to say Coach. I don't know what it is about him but he pisses me off to no end. As for worst announcer ever, I would have to say Stevie Ray. The man called a small package a fucking brainbuster.

IF (Biggest two-letter word in the alphabet) they get past Pittsburgh, it's off to Oakland for The Brownies. I just hope it's not Red Right 88 all over again. Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted January 1, 2003 I'll admit Cole has gotten much better this past year and has even surpassed JR (which is more of a testament to how far JR has fallen than how much Cole has improved), he's still nowhere near Mike Tenay or Joey Styles level good though (and NEVER will be since those 2 are long time fans of wrestling while Cole was a broadcast journalist). Yes I will admit before his improvements this year Cole was the WORST announcer EVER. Just horrid. King hands down gets worst color commentator ever. Worst PbP: 1. Michael Cole (mostly up to 2001) 2. Shane Mcmahon on Heat (that didn't last long) 3. Tie between JR post 1999 and Tony Schiavone post 1997 Best pbP: 1. Gorilla Monsoon 2. Joey Styles 3. Tie between JR pre 1999 and Mike Tenay in TNA (Note: I haven't heard enough of Gordon Solie to consider him) Worst color: 1. Jerry Lawler 2. The Cat (horrid) 3. Tie between Mark Madden and Stevie Ray Best Color: 1. Bobby Heenan 2. Jesse Ventura 3. Cyrus in ECW Lists are fun! EDIT:More list fun! Best Team: 1. Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan (add Roddy Piper for 3 way fun!) 2. Joey Styles and Cyrus 3. Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura Worst Team: 1. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler 2. Vince Mcmahon and Dok Hendrix (or Mr. Perfect, or Jerry Lawler) 3. Tony Schaivone, Stevie Ray and Mark Madden
Guest BorneAgain Report post Posted January 1, 2003 I'm surprised nobody has mention the unspeakable torture of Lee Marshall's commentary.
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Shoot me, I actually liked Madden's commentary. Lee Marshall was god awful. Dusty Rhodes was pretty bad because you could barely understand a goddamn thing he was saying.
Guest BorneAgain Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Dusty Rhodes was pretty bad because you could barely understand a goddamn thing he was saying. True, but I would always laugh when he would say "Oh he's givin him a clubberin' Tony!" Got me every time

Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Heh, I've got that tape over here.....4 tapes I swiped from my friend. Slamboree '96, Great American Bash '96, Bash at the Beach '96, and Hog Wild '96. Lotta good matches between the tapes.

Slamboree '96, Great American Bash '96, Bash at the Beach '96, and Hog Wild '96. Lotta good matches between the tapes. That Benoit-Malenko match at Hog Wild is swank, dumbass crowd or not. And BATB has a great Malenko-Disco match that the commentators actually pay attention too believe it or not. Man, thinking about these two and the match he had with Rey at the GAB makes me realize how good Dean was in that ring.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 1, 2003 I can't stand Cole cause he tries to be an over the top babyface like JR. Tazz will just ramble on about dumb shit that doesn't mean anything. King use to be great...but 2002 was a VERY bad year for him. JR knows how to ruin a match "Austin's gonna win! Austin's gonna win!"...after that you know he can't win. Tony S...no comment. Mark Madden is a piece of shit. I am just an impossible bastard to please MY RAW TEAM: Joey Styles...play by play...babyface Paul Heyman...color...heel MY SMACKDOWN TEAM: Mike Tenay...play by play...babyface Jim Cornette...color...heel ...now that's an oldschool team there. Oh and who could forget his classic little jabs at The Brain. He'd mention the hick town he was in and tie the word weasle into it. Very annoying after the first time
Guest benoitrules2000 Report post Posted January 1, 2003 I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but i have to say that gordon solie is the worst announcer i've ever heard. JR pimps him to the heavens and i've read people pimping what a great announcer he was but the man had the geekiest appearance and announcing voice of anyone ever. Granted, he always seemed to know what he was talking about at least and people would make a big deal about the fact that he pronounced the word suplex correctly(soo-play). Am i missing something here?
Guest mickberna Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Joey Styles is so overrated. Yes, the guy knows the names of the moves, but there's only so many times you can hear "OH.... MY... GOD!!!!!!!!!" or "enzigurrrrrrrrri" without it getting to you. Plus his voice is pretty friggin annoying, too.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted January 1, 2003 Gordon Solie worse then Lee Marshall, Mike Tenay or Tony Schiavone?? I liked how he always kept a relatively calm tone- letting the match do the talking instead of Jim Ross: BAH GAWD ALMIGHTY DAMN HIM!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted January 1, 2003 I never hated Mark Madden that much...then again the stuff he was commenting on was far worse than anyone's commentary could be anyway. Tenay has been the best recently by far in the only 2 products that I watch (meaning he basically beats Cole and JR...who you gonna brag to about that?) I never liked Monsoon at all...it always seemed like he called every single match the exact same. Ventura I liked more than Heenan. I never really hated Shiavone either...at least not when it seemed like he was trying. Ed Ferrara was terrible in TNA. Ventura was probably my favorite overall.
