I just found this interesting....

In the beginning, they mentioned Hulk Hogan, and the first Wrestlemania. A bunch of stars were talking how they were Hulkamaniacs and stuff.

Later on in the program, they had a segment called "Then and Now" with Weird Al Yankovic (a kick-ass singer, but that's just me :P ) Anyway, the last one was Then: Hulk Hogan.....Now: The Rock.

Ummmmm.... I screamed out "No! The Rock is off filming a movie! If anything the star "now" is Triple H---- *pause* ----never mind, I think the Rock is a good choice..." :D

Well, Hulk Hogan was a HUGE part of the '80s pop culture. I was watching that VH1 thing earlier, but I missed the Hogan part, darn it. As of right NOW...

...it's Kurt Angle, he's the present, and the future.

but Kurt Angle has not crossed over to mainstream acceptance, if anybody it should be Steve Austin but he is on a sabatical right now, so the Rock is a good choice.

It's obviously The Rock.

Hogan was a big wrestling star who was in shitty movies.

The Rock is a big wrestling star who is in shitty movies.

Simple as that.

Rock is pretty much considered the most mainstream star in WWE, even if he's not wrestling right now.

Stone Cold would have been picked if not.

And no, Triple H will never be a mainstream, famed star. Not even HHHating about that.

I wasn't talking about Kurt being main stream, just "the man" in Pro. Wrestling right now. The Rock is obviously the main stream guy in the business right now. There isn't anyone even close to him currently.

But he's gonna play Conan the Barbarian!!

Weird Al a "kick-ass singer"? You are insane.

Do you mean to tell me you don't like Weird Al? I don't think I've met anybody who didn't like Weird Al. Ever.

everybody knows Hogan

everybody and Ernest Miller's Mamma knows Rock

Angle is only known by wrestling fans

Even though Kurt Angle is wrestling at his peak now, he has not made an impact outside of the wrestling enviroment.

EDIT: HHH has been on Conan O'Brian tv show several times so he does have potential to become huge just like Rock or Hogan but I believe he will just reach Roddy Piper or Terry Funk levels........tough guy in B movies.

They Live is the benchmark of what all wrestler-actors dream of becoming

Very true, and I don't think Angle will either.

He may be able to act, although it'd be hard to imagine him doing much else besides comedy. Also, I can't really picture him doing much more than that because he seems too concerned about wrestling. Rock's already made it several times over, and had the Hollywood vibe about him. His position is secure whenever the hell he comes back, and the office is behind him, so he can come and go as he pleases.

I doubt he'll ever be that mainstream. I see him being the type of performer as Bret Hart was. Known by all wrestling fans, but outside that relm not being that main stream. Although it's possible, but I do doubt it.

Nash may have the "best hair" in wrestling, but couldn't you say that Rocky is the luckiest?

The Rock is a big wrestling star who is in shitty movies.

Going by your logic:

Hogan was a bald wrestling star who had shitty matches.

Triple H is a wrestling star who's going bald and has shitty matches.

Lucky, yes, and smart enough to take advantage of it.

Hogan and Rocky: Huge draws known to wrestling fans and non-fans alike, some Hollywood fame.

HHH: A draw in 2000-2001, but not really now.

it would have to take a Ang Lee or John Woo movie to get HHH over as a credible movie star

Actually, a lot of people know who Triple-Juice is. I've heard a lot of non-wrestling fans mention him. So he does have some mainstream fame, some is the key word.

Bret was on the Simpsons once. I believe he was the only wrestler to be on the show.

I don't get it.

As long as he's not on there for his album.

And VH1 has programs about...you know...music? I've yet to figure out what the hell MTV is about.

The "M" stands for "Mass marketing"...
