Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Nothing on Earth will ever top the uber-battle royale tournament of pizza box terror. Between "Oooouuuugggghhhh" and "EEEEEEEEEEYAAAAAAA~!" I almost pissed my pants laughing - I literally dropped my controller and ran to the bathroom, it was so bad. And one of the guys in those screenshots looks like a M.U.S.C.L.E. character. Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted January 10, 2003 Alas, Kinnikuman has no CAW. It's really not a true wrestling game, more a balls-out anime fighting game based on the AKI engine. It's still got the same feel, and the controls have translated well to the GC controller, but it's really more of an AKI fighting game that happens to take place in a wrestling ring. If you've even a passing interest in the show, you'll probably love it. IGN have a preview up on their Insider section: http://cube.ign.com/articles/382/382129p1.html The best review right now (until mine I get around to mine) is here: http://65.105.235.51/forums/index.php?act=...633b2d2d1f52e05 And there's a cool trailer for the game at GamesRadar: ftp://ftp.futurenet.co.uk/pub/dailyradar/...tendo/kinni.mov Not that I actually know, but I'd say the engine for Kinnikuman is a pretty good indication of what Def Jam Vendetta's going to be like. They might tone down some of the more outrageous move animations (then again, looking at the videos at EABig, maybe they won't), but from what's been said about DJV having the same "fighting/wrestling hybrid" mechanics to AKI traditionally patterning their US licences after their slightly earlier Japanese ones, I'd say it'll be pretty close. I'd also say that was one long run-on sentence, but hey.
Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Of course, before anyone jumps on my back, it DOES have a kind of very, very limited CAW where you can rearrange parts from various wrestlers, but it's not a CAW as I think most people understand it, so IMHO it hasn't got one.
