PROMO: Primary Color

Guest Thoth

“I don’t feel good,” Orochi thinks to himself as he hangs over a sink in a nondescript motel room. It’s been a few weeks since he slammed Angel face first into the mat and ran away from the match, and from Nathaniel Kibagami.

A good metaphor, actually, to running from oneself. What in the world was he scared of? Pain? Loss? Seeing others who have neither of these?

Yuuichiro Kaesame defined his life through the pain and the loss that he experienced. He believed that one wasn’t truly alive unless he had a point of stark negativity to focus and reflect on. That happy people were saps. Sheep to be herded. But the growing doubt in his mind argued differently.

He looks in the mirror. It took forever to bleach his hair white. His chest, with its symbols. He doesn’t even know why he has his symbols anymore. They never meant anything. Just a pitiful cry for help from a lonely soul.

He fumbles through his bag on the sink and grabs a near-empty bottle tightly. The bottle is normally filled with red goo; his hair color. He doesn’t use it lately because he doesn’t need to. He hasn’t been Thoth in a while.

He takes a tuft of hair in one hand, and runs the color through it with the other. He repeats until his bottle is empty... and looks in the mirror. About half his hair, in even gaps, is colored red.

When the SWF roster goes back to work, he has a lot to answer for. He’s angered his brother, and he feels guilty. He’s angered SWF management over the way his match ended at the holiday PPV with the odd name. There’s definitely retribution in his future. Hopefully, dying his hair red will fix that, but only half of it is red. The other half is still white, a reminder of what he tried and failed to become.

If he can swallow his pride, things might be okay. But a warrior’s pride is too thick and coarse, easily ired, to be swallowed. And if he tries, he’ll only regurgitate it in a fit of rage that will only spiral him further into his own shame.

His phone beeps, then rings. He ponders the beep, and then picks up the phone, where a delightfully woman’s voice tells him he’s facing Frost in the main event, for the title. No countouts or disqualifications. A match designed for him to lose. In that environment, Frost can use his raw power to destroy him.

Without the anger that Orochi holds, and without the confidence that Thoth has, he has no chance.

A very nice promo, Orochi my lad. Just wanted to remind you that the match at Storm is non-title, though. ;)
