We're not totally sure, but we think my Dad's Grandmother MAY have been Native American. Kinda hard to know for sure, since I think we only have one picture of her, and you can't tell in it. There's also some English, possibly German (my grandfather's name was Shingler, and I've not been able to get a straight story from someone. We apparently have either an ancestor or a living relative oversears with the title of "Lord"). I did some investigating once and found out that the name "Cone" (my dad's last name) could be an evolution of the Scottish, "McKenzie", but I've not had the tools to investigate it further. But the Cherokee is confirmed. Had ancestors on the trail of tears, we think. Don't hold me to that. But that's the part I'm most proud of at any rate. You don't see any of them going "I'm Ghanaian/Egyptian/Zairean/blah blah blah".
