Reckless Youth/Quackenbush/Chikara

If anyone could help here, I'd appreciate it immensely.

 

Anyway, in May, after college calls it a year, I'm planning on going to wrestling school. I live in the Philadelphia area, so I think I have a good deal of options, but I'm likely going to go to Reckless Youth and Mike Quackenbush's Chikara Wrestle Factory. I've heard of these guys, but I've only seen Youth in action, and only in a few matches. I do like what I've seen, though. So to those more familiar with them than me, how good are they? Do you think they'd be good workers to get trained by? I used to hear more talk about them a few years back than I do now, so I'm a little (but just a little) skeptical about picking this place.

 

Also, anybody have any ideas on what questions I should ask and what things should I do and find out before I put down my cash?

Yeah, I know, I’m in pretty good shape. I run two miles almost every morning and lift weights, other stuff. I don't know much about nutrition and pretty much eat whatever I want, but I think the results I have are good.

 

As for how much training costs, this school is 3000 dollars if you pay installments, or 2500 thousand if you pay all at once. I think that’s the higher end of the spectrum in costs. I think Kowalski’s is like 2000. I’ve heard of some schools that charge as little as 400 dollars, but they’re run by guys you’ve ever heard of and I’d really doubt their reputations. A lot of schools also offer t raining for referees, managers, and valets, which is usually cheaper Still, I think it’s stupid to pay to learn managing or valeting. A couple bumps is all you probably learn., likely with some of the more obvious aspects Just go all-out and wrestle.

I had heard that it can cost around that sort of money, but I wasnt sure. How ong does the average trainee take to finish training?

I have no idea about the cost, but Reckless Youth

and Quackenbush are generally considered 2 of

the top 100 wrestlers in the world. Besides Mike

Modest, I can't think of any other top active wrestlers

that are doing training. I recommend that you

read Quackenbush's book called "Headquarters."

It is a great book and you will get to know him a bit by

reading it. I bought it from him at a show in person and

he seems like a nice guy. You can order it from his website.
