The Dames 0 Report post Posted January 6, 2003 Well, now that the first episode has aired, your thoughts on this season's Oz should be up in here. First thing that comes to my mind is that they're really making an effort to call back to the first season with shots of O'Reilly mashing up the glass to put in Schibetta's food, Jefferson Keane (!) doing the majority of the narrations and feuds ready to finally be blown off. Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted January 6, 2003 For the first time ever watching this show, I finally get the feeling that Ryan O'reily may end up getting killed this season. The man is smart and cunning, yet he has just fucked himself over too many times and it wouldn't be that hard at all for a couple enemies of his to get together and do the deed. I wonder what angle they are doing with Cyril....split personalities? He sounded very NOT retarded in that last scene with the sock puppet. Schibetta looks like he may get his ass kicked by his own crew for assuming the commander position. I'm also hoping Luke Perry turns out to be Christ incarnate, though I'm not sure why, I know in my head that's a terrible storyline. Anyway, I think they're going to have a new dead character providing the narraration each week, probably saving Adebisi for last, since he was the most popular character. Right now it's ok, but the board is extremely dead when Oz isn't being shown, and since it just started, you might want to give it a few days to really get going. They have to finish everything up, so shit's going to go down, and go down fast. I know the show really has jumped the shark, but... to quote the Legendary Pink Dots, I love it in it's tragic beauty. I'm sure something will happen not allowing him to go free. Robson being a prag...didn't see that shit coming. Winthrop looks really different without all of the make up on. From the previews for next week, looks like Cyril has a split personality or has just turned from retarded to a psycho. Peter Schibetta's death was kind of abrupt, and it was odd how Pancamo just believed him out of the blue. I thought he would question O'reily a bit more, but I suppose Pancamo has just been taking up space now since Season 4, so he need to do something. I LOVE the new "dead man talking" gimmick. bring back people who died on Oz to narrate. Hopefully Beacher gets out. Oz NEEDS at least ONE happy ending. I thought that with Kirk stripping Father Mukada of his powers, eventually he was going to go mad, end up killing Kirk himself and end up as a prisoner of Oz in an ironic twist. I mean it is gonna be hard to sell a drug-free life to ALL of the gangstas, and I am sure there will be enough of them not down with it. Omar White needs MORE SCREEN TIME, he was one of the best new characters to EVER join Oz IMO..... Morales is probobaly on his way out. I never did like his character. I mean when he first debut, they just got rid of Hernandez so fast. Usually it takes at least 3 attempts before a LEADER finally gets whacked.
