Guest the pinjockey Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 There was a discussion in the WWE folder about the Raw 10th anniversary show and mentioning it was on a Tuesday. It made me think about the fact that Buffy-24-The Shield would take precedence over that no matter what time it was on. Then I got to thinking that I couldn't think of a better block of TV I ever saw together where the whole way through I knew I would be entertained. So I was wondering what some of your favorite blocks of TV ever were where from top to bottom you knew you weren't going to change that channel?
The Dames Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 It's on a Tuesday? FUCK. Buffy/Smallville/Andy Richter/24/Osbournes...make Tuesday MUST SEE TV Day for me. Dames
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 I used to watch Futurama King of the Hill Simpsons Malcom in the Middle ...when I was younger... it was alright... I don't watch too much TV, though.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 well it WAS Aqua Teen Hunger Force and the Brak Show, but they moved ATHF on me.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 NBC Wednesdays 1985 A-Team Riptide Remington Steele Can't beat it. Ever.
Guest razazteca Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Fox Sunday and Adult Swim Sunday
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 The only night where I regularly watch more then one show is Tuesday. Buffy and The Shield
Guest godthedog Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 currently, adult swim sunday nights: aqua teen hunger force, sealab 2021, brak, space ghost. way back around the summer of 94 or 95, monday nights on comedy central were heavenly. at 11 monty python's flying circus would come on, then i think kids in the hall at 11:30 (though i'm not exactly sure), and mystery science theater 3000 at midnight. that was some QUALITY television.
Guest NoCalMike Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 When I was in middle-school and elementary school, during summer vacation every weekday starting at 9:00am would be a block of....Silver Spoons/Out of this World/Head of the Class/Full House...
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Old school fox sundays with the simpsons, the critic, and the x-files.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 way back around the summer of 94 or 95, monday nights on comedy central were heavenly. at 11 monty python's flying circus would come on, then i think kids in the hall at 11:30 (though i'm not exactly sure), and mystery science theater 3000 at midnight. that was some QUALITY television. I'd kill to have that lineup back. It would a million times better than the SNL reruns that infest Comedy Central now. Speaking of Comedy Central they have that late night cartoon block with Critic and Duckman.
LaParkaYourCar Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Tuesday nights when it gets in full swing. Buffy, Smallville, and The Shield (I have to record one and watch the other)
Guest Mole Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Sundays nowadays is pretty good Simpsons-King of the Hill-Malcom-Andy Ricther Tuesday Buffy-Smallville-Real World-Osbournes But I think I am going to watch the Sheild this season, so fuck Real World and Osbournes. I can always catch the re-runs. How about TGIF back in the day? I can't remember what shows were on, but I know Full House and Boy Meets World were there. If memory serves me correct.
Guest godthedog Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 which TGIF are you talking about? they went through a lot of lineups. at various stages it had full house, family matters, boy meets world, going places, the belles of bleeker street, billy, perfect strangers (i think), and lots of other ones.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Currently, it's the Adult Swim Saturday Nights, FOX Sunday, and the Gary & Mike/Undergrads/Critic/Duckman block on Comedy Central late night.

Guest Matt Young Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 The only one I can think of now is Smackdown/Tough Enough/Trigger Happy TV/South Park/Insomniac on Thursdays, although I rarely watch all those.
Guest EricMM Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 Any of the Adult swim blocs as long as it doesn't contain the fucking Ripping Friends. But Space Ghost, ATHF, and Harvey Birdman are GOLD!!!! Especially the Mooninites.
Guest notJames Posted January 6, 2003 Report Posted January 6, 2003 In my younger years, I made sure to map out my Saturday morning cartoon viewing to the letter. Mind you, this was before VCRs were readily available, so if two cartoons overlapped, I had to choose. It usually started out with Davey and Goliath at 7:30am (blame it on Catholic school brainwashing), and ended around 11:30am with Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, with an occasional Fat Albert at noon if I was so inclined. Nowadays, thanks to changing personal tastes and the overall degradation of TV in general, the only consistent block of TV I watch is the Fox Sunday Animation block (Futurama, Simpsons, KOTH).
Guest JMTapes Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 TGIF circa '93 Family Matters Boy Meets World Step By Step Hangin' With Mr. Cooper Best fuckin lineup ever. Some of my happiest childhood memories. Also, can someone help me out here. For the life of me, I cannot remember what was in the BMW slot before it started. Full House, maybe? Anyone? Thanks-Jim www.jmtapes.com
Guest bravesfan Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Also, can someone help me out here. For the life of me, I cannot remember what was in the BMW slot before it started. Full House, maybe? Anyone? Thanks-Jim Thanks to this site. 90-91: Full House, Family Matters, Perfect Strangers, Going Places 91-92: Family Matters, Step By Step, Perfect Strangers, Baby Talk 92-93: Family Matters, Step by Step, Dinosaurs, Camp Wilder 93-94: Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Step By Step, Hangin'... The 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996 years had the same schedule, until 1997 rolled along with "Sabrina" and "Clueless". My pick is Must See TV Thursday in 1995-1997... Friends, The Single Guy (loved this show), Seinfeld and <insert show here>. Suddenly Susan was adequate, considering it starred Brooke Shields...
Guest El Satanico Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 argh Hanging With Mr. Cooper was such a terrible show.
Guest Grand Slam Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Geez... TGIF?? Good grief. How about the original NBC Thursday powerhouse line-up? The Cosby Show Family Ties Cheers Something I can never remember... L.A. Law Or, on Wednesday nights... The Greatest American Hero The Fall Guy Then there was the Sunday "give me the creeps lineup" Ripley's Believe It or Not (with Jack Palance) Alfred Hitchcock Presents Amazing Stories And Saturday Mornings when I was a kid. Yikes. It was 7am until 1 in the afternoon of solid cartoons. heck, they even had a show on once a year to show off what cartoons would be on that season. But the ultimate for me as a kid was this. Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - Scooby-Doo 3:30 pm - G.I. Joe 4:00 pm - Transformers 4:30 pm - Voltron 5:00 pm - Mr. Wizard 5:30 pm - DangerMouse 6:00 pm - Nick Videos 6:30 pm - Turkey TV 7:00 pm - You Can't Do That on Television
Guest saturnmark4life Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 well right now in the uk channel 5 weekday mornings (I love half assed part time employment) have Magnum PI, now PRECEDED BY STARSKY AND HUTCH% It's the only reason I wake up at all.
Guest geniusMoment Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 From 1995-1999 it has to be Mondays from 8-11. The Monday Night wars were my favorite block of television ever. Wednesday and Sunday Nights on ESPN, during the summer for baseball is my second favorite television block. Finally during the spring of 2001 A&E had Newsradio on from 12:00-1:00 and then comedy central had Kids in the Hall on from 1:00-2:00
Guest EQ Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Buffy/Smallville/Andy Richter/24/Osbournes...make Tuesday MUST SEE TV Day for me. Same here. I used to really look forward to Boston Public -> Raw, but then Raw started to get really bad, and I stopped watching.
Guest dreamer420 Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 It used to be NBC's thursday night line-up when Seinfeld was still on the air. That was a wicked night for TV. I also used to like Teletoon Unleashed which was The Oblongs, Mission Hill, Undergrads, and Quads. Lately I don't want so much TV unless it's wrestling.
