Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 6, 2003 Hell, he even put on good matches with Bubba Ray Dudley, who is a merely average worker, and a HOSS~! to boot. That wasn't a good match. "Not as bad as everyone expected" does not translate to "good" Well, I didn't expect you to like it. Of course, everyone has their own opinions, but I did think that match was about **3/4.. certainly above average at least.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 6, 2003 I'd say *** is average. My ratings Negative Stars: Test/Kane, Anything involving Jackie Gayda, and so on. Dud: No redeeming value whatsoever. *: Terrible, but there was something there to save it from DUD. Be it a spot, a special circumstances, whatever. Okay, here is where I get in the quarters. **: More of *, just more of what I liked. **1/4: Not a good match at all, but not so terrible. Benoit/Big Show, Angle/Big Show. **1/2: Watchable match. **3/4: Decent little match. Not what I'd call good, but certainly okayish ***: Average match ***1/4: Above Average ***1/2: Good match ***3/4: Very Good match ****: Great ****1/4: Somwhere in between **** and ****1/2 ****1/2: Almost perfect, but something fairly big went wrong: Run in finish, huge missed spot. ****3/4: Almost perfect, Minor problem. Bad Finish, some kind of minor missed spot. *****: Perfect, or as close to it as you can get.
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 6, 2003 "****1/4: Somwhere in between **** and ****1/2" Don't we give out awards for explanations like these?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 6, 2003 Well, it's really an undefined rating for me. I don't give out ****1/4 for anything. It's a little better than what I would consider ****, but not quite ****1/2. I guess it's like a match with a lot of minor fuck ups in what is a very good match. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 6, 2003 Great match, whatever. The higher up my ratings go, the more they run into eachother.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 6, 2003 Ohoh, I see your point Andrew. Basically, we might not know if they are any good because WWE wants them to be a certain way. For example, a wrestling like Test knows how to do a german suplex or a figure-four or any wrestling move. But we won't know that, because WWE wants them to wrestle a certain way. Same way with Brock. Do I got it ? Basically--but Test using it would just make the match shittier, because he'd not use them in a capable or logical way. However, if he'd been trained properly he might have been something other than arguably the shittiest worker on the Raw roster, because he showed potential at one time. "Not as bad as everyone expected" does not translate to "good" No, it was a damn good TV match. Match of the night. I have that RAW on tape, and it was a very good power match. His match with Taker (No Mercy) was better than Kurt's on the sliding TV to PPV scale.
