Guest MaskedDanger Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 If WWE ever hits Capitol City he can call himself "Goofball." *pauses and waits for a Simpson's fan to get that* Anyway, Spanky is prime (his ROH stuff impressed the hell out of me) and on top of that he has one of the coolest named spot names in wrestling history: the Left Turn at Albequreque (frog splash with a turn mid air). (And calling his slingshot kneedrop "The Electric Mayhem" earns him some bonus points as well. Gotta love the cartoon / kid show references.)
Guest AndrewTS Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 From all I've read on the guy's gimmick, Spanky's name fits the gimmick too well: a weird guy. I still want a wrestler to be michievious and call himself "Puck"...of course, that would fly over the heads of all too many fans... Oh, and Spanky isn't the only person to use the Acid Drop-Inverted DDT move. XPW's Kid Kaos used it in 2000. Heh--he needs to hang around with a manager who has an ass' head, then. Who says wrestling can't be Shakespeare?
Guest netslob Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Heh--he needs to hang around with a manager who has an ass' head, then. Lawler, perhaps? oh wait, you said "Ass' Head", not "Head UP his ass".
Guest Ace309 Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 At least they're not keeping "The Show Stopper" and making him into a cheesy movie-director heel, complete with clapboard for foreign object purposes.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Yeah, those ring announcers can be kind of hard to hear. When Vic Grimes had a dark match as "Key," I thought he said "G," and this guy in white was the G behind GTV. That being said, Spanky should either be called The Spank or The Crunge.
