Guest Mazelmavin Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 What the hell does a Road Agent do anyway?
Guest HartFan86 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I didn't read about Gunn officially retiring.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 In EWR they keep control of the lockerroom and stop wrestlers from getting into fights and stuff. I assume it is similar in real life.
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 They also help coordinate things backstage. Theyre the ones who let wrestlers in on their cues on when to go out there, they monitor their work and usually give advice or crticism. Its sort of like, Vince can't be in 100 places at once so they have road agents to help witht he burden.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Road Agents primarily help piece together matches with the talent. They are also the bridge between JR and Johnny Ace to the wrestlers, as well as the writers to the talent. i.e. the wrestlers see who they are wrestling that night, put together a match themselves, and the Road Agent will tell them what the writing team want to see in the match etc. and also help them piece together the match.
Guest Steviekick Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 I don't know how wise it would be to take career advice from Billy Gunn...he did seem to get unexplainable pushes and all ,but still... it's mr. freaking smoking gunn ass.
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 He can advise the best steroids to take.
Guest Choken One Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Billy could be big help on training, learning the environment (this is for the rookies), how to position yerself with the right company (whose ass to kiss). Simmons? Well, just brawling and shit and how to effectivly chug a beer and the techique of "DAMN".
Guest Brian Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 Road agents specific jobs are to help coordinate between the writers and the wrestler. They help plan out spots, matches, run-ins, promos, etc.
Guest Si82 Posted January 10, 2003 Report Posted January 10, 2003 He can advise the best steroids to take.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Well, Billy Gunn sure had a good career. Latent-homosexual cowboy, latent-homosexual Elvis impersonator, latent-homosexual sidekick to other latent-homosexuals, latent-homosexual in denial with an ass fetish, and finally, a portrayor of a latent-homosexual. It's good that after so many years in the business you can finally climb the ladder, so to speak.
Guest Daddy X Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 The best road agents have to be Malenko and Finley. Malenko works with the cruiserweights which explains the psycology driven maches they put out. Finley of course works with the women and thanks to him many women's matches have been rather entertaining. Hell... at king of the ring the womens title match was better than the main event.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Finley of course works with the women Just call him the Ulster Bolster.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Hell... at king of the ring the womens title match was better than the main event. Hell, at King of the Ring, a backstage skit was better than the main event. Hell, at King of the Ring, a fight between two drunks in the upper rows would've been better than the main event.
Guest AndrewTS Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Hell... at king of the ring the womens title match was better than the main event. Hell, at King of the Ring, a backstage skit was better than the main event. Hell, at King of the Ring, a fight between two drunks in the upper rows would've been better than the main event. Right. Keith called it a "steaming pile of shit" and a "three coiler special." At least he wasn't going overboard to criticize it.
Guest TheyCallMeMark Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Yeah, as far as I know, the Road Agents plot out matches with the wrestlers, or tell them of specific spots the writers want in the match etc. Also, I understand that Road Agents are meant to keep the peace, so that everyone isn't just bouncing off the walls backstage.
Guest Quik Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Yes! No more Billy Gunn! Wait, so does this officially mean that the Gay Wedding killed his career?
Guest Brian Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 "More road agents hurts the business, Vince." HHH
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 He can advise the best steroids to take. Gunn is a 'roid user??? Wait, so does this officially mean that the Gay Wedding killed his career? The wedding, even the ending, was enjoyable to watch, but what did Gunn or Palumbo have besides being the "gay tag team"? Honestly, I'll never understand WWE's reason to not go through with that, especially with all the media hype.
Guest notJames Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 As the name implies, the road agents also tell the wrestlers when and where they need to be for each show, help with scheduling stuff, etc. As someone else may have already said, they're the middlemen between management and talent. And yes, Billy Gunn has partaken of the juice.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Honestly, I couldn't really notice. At least he's not as bad as the Raw main-eventers...Need I mention names? Nah...didn't think so.
Guest Choken One Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 I might be wrong here, But I strongly feel Gunn was a clean user (at least in his final Years). I dunno why.
