Guest notJames Report post Posted January 13, 2003 notjames- I think it's common for wrestlers to call each other by their gimmick name rather then their real name I know. I mentioned that already. It just seems that the whole death thing would have superceded the gimmick. Especially with a guy who some wrestling fans probably never even heard of. As for the question of editing and continuity, it just seems in poor taste to go from something as serious as a wrestler's death to something as frivolous as a prank, especially when DeMott was heavily featured in both. Kevin Dunn and Co. need to really figure out what their show is trying to accomplish, because as it stands, TE is really becoming a chore to watch.
Guest the saiyan prince Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Bob is an ass. I can't believe they let him around those kids with an attitude like that. Yeah these kids got a break he and the others didn't get but that's no reason to take out your frustrations on them. And after all that, he hopes to be a trainer for TE4. Geez, get a life Spark Plug. hell yeah bob was in the wrong i know the show is called tough enough but what happen to matt was an assault not tough love he had no idea that he was in for an beatdown by a former trainer and the lame ass excuse that snow and damott delivered was lame
Guest Adrian 3:16 Report post Posted January 13, 2003 After finally seeing the episode I'm now more convinced than ever that everyone is over-reacting. The "brutal assualt" that Matt took was really not that big a deal. Besides- who cares? And I say that in all seriousness too. Tough Enough is ridiculous- its all hugs and whining and pranks and basic back bumps set to feel good music. Someone finally plays a little rough and everyone gets up in arms. It should've surprised no one including Matt himself, considering everyone knows the story with Bob Holly and his rep for being stiff and/or an asshole. On a side note, what's up with the match (both of them actually) being so heavily clipped? What happened when Matt tagged the other kid in? They didn't even show who pinned who in the end if I remember correctly...
Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted January 13, 2003 Most trainers will break a person's arm to teach the lesson that some people will rough you up in there. So I think what Holly did was pretty tame compared to what a lot of trainers do.
Guest EternallyLazy Report post Posted January 13, 2003 The reason I don't give a rats ass about it is because when I see Tough Enough... in it's current form, I think that these pussies should be involved in a boy band not professional wrestling. Wrestlers take stiff ass shots all the fucking time. What's worse? Getting kicked in the face by a padded shoe or getting smashed in the face full force by a steel chair? Holly warned the kids that he wasn't going to go easy on them. So if you're using the "Matt wasn't prepared and didn't know Bob was going to stiff him" argument, think again. Seeing Matt tear up like a little pussy that just got his ass beat in Junior High makes me want to puke... especially looking at how fucking easy he has it, and looking at everyone else who got beat up like that on an everyday basis on the indy circuit who didn't have the luxury of living in a million dollar home and living the high life. Guest raptor Report post Posted January 13, 2003 From Rajahwwf.com People are still talking about Bob Holly pounding Matt on Tough Enough last week. Many are wondering whether this may lead to a feud in the future, which may be true. Holly was still in WWE plans when the segment was taped. But it seems that the segment was done to create a buzz and get people talking, thus leading to a getting a ratings jump. Of course, both MTV and WWE know full well what they are doing, and are milking this for all that its worth. When sources contacted WWE employees, no one really stuck up for Holly. Many labeled him as being a real jerk. There also appears to be extra footage that was not shown on Television. From what is being said, Holly went in the ring with an agenda, and simply kicked the crap out of Matt. Perhaps we’ll see the extra footage on future DVD? It's an internet report, so I don't really believe it, but it sure does add an interesting spin on the situation. Especially the missing footage.
Guest Luke Michael Report post Posted January 13, 2003 I think Bob Holly was an ass for beating Matt up for no reason and is an ass to say it's good for the wrestling business. But I do think it's important to tell the kids that they will get an occasional asshole opponent who will go rough on them. But being on of those opponents and then saying it's a good thing is a slap in the face of good wrestlers. Holly is going to get what's coming to him though. I don't see him in the WWE very much longer. Sure JR and Bradshaw like him but his "tough guy" attitude isn't what the wrestling business needs anymore. The only kind of wrestler the WWE needs is someone who knows respects his opponents, knows how to wrestle, and is entertaining. Everyone else can "Get the F out!" Guest Jimmy Saint Report post Posted January 14, 2003 I'm guessing most of you are smart enough to the business that you know this type of thing happens all the time. So why all this drama ? and if ever any potential guys deserved a 'welcome' to the wrestling world like this surly its a tough enough contestant. Brusier Brody would be turning in his grave if he saw this. [the thread I mean if he saw tough enough he probably would be appaluding Bob Holly]

Guest Brian Report post Posted January 14, 2003 No it doesn't. I pointed out certain points, like Holly strikes andchops were normal. But the kick to the jaw and neck were both deliberate, and those are totally unprofessional. His intent at the point went farther past hazing, and bordered on injuring him.
