Although I am almost certain that this will turn into a Anti-Taker (Underseller) thread, I was wondering of your thoughts on Undertaker's Unbeaten WM Streak.

Should Undertaker retire unbeaten or finally lay down? If so, Then Whom? and Why?

I know he wants to retire undefeated (he says as much on his DVD) but he should job to someone to get them over in his retirement year

I was originally going to say break it, but with UT getting older and this possibly being his last Wrestlemania, I say that they let him go out on a positive note. Regardless of all of the titles that he won, the WM streak will be something that he'll always be remembered for and would be better than going out on top in his last match or in his old gimmick, IMO.

I don't dislike the Undertaker, but losing to someone at Wrestlemani would do a whole lot for them in the long run. It'd be the professional and selfless thing to do.

If he was going to do it, give the win to Matt Hardy, Charlie Haas, Shelton Benjamin, or some other young guy like Nathan Jones, The Damja, or "The Machine" Doug Basham.

Do not break it, in this day and age I want to actually see sort of record stand.

I don't think breaking the streak is going to really help elevate anyone, so it should probably continue. At the very least it's a nice bit of trivia.

It would elevate someone if they built it up enough, put it across that it meant everything to Taker and he'd go to any lengths to keep it

I think Taker deserves it for being in WWE so long personally, he really does.

Keep the streak going with some harmless squash of a fat Albert or at least in a match where Taker's ring entrance lasts longer than the match itself. With Taker's present condition, and the idea that hes coming back as the dead-man, the entrance will prolly be the sole entertainment he provides. But he definitly should look into putting a few guys over on other nights this year.

I don't think they should force or even ask taker to brake it. I feel taker should come forward and say its the right thing for the business that has given so much to him. Foley would have enjoyed winning his last mania match but he realized how it was important to pass the torch so to speak, I realize he wasn't the most popular wrestler I just used that phrase to symbolize Foley giving someone so major rub.

Keep the streak. He should put someone over big before its all over but the streak is his legacy, let him keep that positve note and save the big job for his last match.

There is a slight difference...Foley's legancy is for being a Hardcore King...Undertaker's legancy is The unbeaten Streak.

I don't believe Undertaker should be beaten at WM.

Look at the list he beaten

Superfly

Jake Roberts

Giant Gonzalez

King Kong Bundy

Diesel

Psycho Sid

Kane

Bossman

Triple H

Ric Flair

Quite an interesting list (3 legends and bunch of Hosses).

Here is the extremly short list of people that I'll allow to beat Undertaker...

Edge (To carry on his own streak (3-0 presently)

Beniot

Matt Hardy

....That is it.

Well Vince McMahon is the world's biggest UT mark. I picture UT coming to him and asking him to break the streak....and Vince breaking down and crying b/c his hero will lose.

I doubt he'll break down and sob, but likely Veto the idea...Besides...Jobbing to Matt Hardy or whoever won't mean shit in the end...so might as well have UT go undefeated.

When did they start the undefeated thing? Was this planned from the start or did they realize after a few of em, he hadn't lost one yet and decided to run with that.

It's a nice romantic idea for a wrestler to go out on top, with a big streak, but the reality is that that shouldn't happen. A wrestler leaving should always go out putting someone over, making a star out of someone who is to be left to carry the business. It could make a superstar for someone to beat Underseller clean, and end his WM win streak. I doubt it will happen though. Mark, an appropiate name, is too fixated on keeping his pseudo-legend status intact.

The only way I see him getting beaten at Mania is if he was too job to someone young and they could use it to their advantage in all their promos that they were the only person to beat Taker at a Wrestlemania.

Despite that, Taker should probably never lose that streak. It's a classic.

Assuming he'll be doing his old Dead-Man gimmick, keep the streak.

If not, break it!

To be fair, HHH isn't exactly a hoss now, and certainly wasn't then.

AS being fair and reasonable!? Now I've seen everything!

*shoots self*

BTW, the above is a reference to an old cartoon that had that scene cut by the Nazi's known as the Cartoon Network.

The streak should stay. There's no reason as to why some boob should be elevated to defeat UT at WM, breaking his streak, and then possibly be shunted down the card, that being the highlight of his career. It wouldn't be worth it.

I agree with NoSelfWorth. What's right for the business is that he lays down for an up-n-comer, thus putting them over bigtime. If real legends like Flair, Race, and Sammartino laid down for the future talent, then Mark Calloway can and should do it with no questions asked.

Guest Anglesault

It shouldn't be "Up and comer" in the Matt Hardy sense though. That would just be fucking stupid. It should be someone who the fans could buy as an ME and a big win over Taker would cement him. Eddy.

Guest AlwaysPissedOff

I agree, AS.A win like that would do wonders for Eddy's standing.

Guest Anglesault

I'd like to see the streak stand. But if it falls, I'd like to see it fall to Eddy. I would say Angle, but hopefully this Lesnar storyline will make him.

It needs to be someone who's short of coming up and over the top. And he should put someone over, there's no time where it's going to have as much of an impact other than WrestleMania. Of course, if it's Albert I say keep it because there's no upside there.

Guest Anglesault

If it's Taker/Albert at Mania, I can 99 % guarantee that the streak ends.

I dunno. They didn't even put Kane over UT at Wrestlemania, I don't see how Albert would be the only one to get the opportunity. *shrugs*

I say keep the streak. I would say to end it, but this is 2003 WWE, so, chances are, they will probably screw it up or give the win to someone who will end up not doing much of anything with it. Sure, if it was booked right, and put someone over huge, then great, but if it is going to be flushed the toilet, I see no reason in having him lose it.

Let him keep his one big legacy, instead of "UT lost his streak to Albert...who went back to wrestling on Velocity a month later, and quickly vanished into obscurity."

Guest Lord of The Curry

I have no problems with the streak continuing, but I would personally like to see it end with him putting a worthy talent over. They should only break the streak if they plan on using it as a launchpad for the wrestler who breaks it to get to the "next level." If Benoit beats Taker he should be a main eventer and in the title picture right after Mania, same for Edge.

Guest Fook_Hing_Ho

Keep the streak, as he'll most likely be facing Big Slow or A-Train-Wreck at WM.

Have Taker put someone else over clean at another show.
