I don't think breaking the streak is going to really help elevate anyone, so it should probably continue.  At the very least it's a nice bit of trivia.

I think Taker deserves it for being in WWE so long personally, he really does.

I agree. Undertaker has stood by Vince through all the horrible angles and Monday Night Wars. Taker should of course put someone over big on his way out, but keep his WM streak in tact.

If it's Taker/Albert at Mania, I can 99 % guarantee that the streak ends.

I dunno. They didn't even put Kane over UT at Wrestlemania, I don't see how Albert would be the only one to get the opportunity. *shrugs*

"Oh, they'd NEVER have the Big Show of all people end Brock's streak!"

Just to clear something up...they never ACTUALLY said Taker was coming back as the "Deadman". Last week they showed old-school Taker clips, then this week they showed clips of him as the "Dark Prince." Next week, they'll probably show "highlights" (HA!) as the American Badass to continue his legacy.

Of course, there's still the CHANCE that he'll come back as the Deadman, but don't get your hopes up too much.

I'm also getting my hopes up brecause of the superstar page that has his hometown is listed as "death valley".

Under the right circumstances, Taker jobbing at WM could really make a star out of someone. It could put a new heel over the top, like HHH/Foley.

I get the feeling that WWE knows they could use that streak to build someone, but I also worry that they will piss it away on someone useless. As in HHH retires yet another legend, or the Hoss of the Minute beats Taker.

If they broke the streak, it would be pointless. We all thought that Angle making Hogan submitting would be cool, but in the end they did NOTHING with it, and having Taker's streak end would be the same thing. It would be something to make fans think about whoever did it, and then would all be forgotten in a matter of weeks or months. Besides, unless they allowed for it to be a perfectly CLEAN loss, then it would be that much more pointless as well.

Exactly, he could do a lot more than give up this streak. I'll be personally pissed off if it ends, I don't care who he faces at WM.

The WWE may have done with nothing with Hogan's tap out, but Dames recap of it was damn sure funny.

'Damn sure'??? Isn't that a JRism?!?! *shudder*

Back on topic..... I say keep the streak. If he wants to go out at WM, then go out with a win. Then perhaps have a retirement match at the next RAW.

If you he should lie down for someone, who could it possibly be? Benoit? Van Dam?

More likely, he gets Show, or maybe even Nash to be his yearly WM fall guy, though I have to wonder if Nash is even familiar enough with the fans to be deemed worthy of the Taker Job possition at WM anymore.

Oh, Taker will not be retiring anytime this year if you ask me, he'll be around for at least 1-2 more years in my view, especially if he comes back under his "Deadman" gimmick. Let me throw this one out...

...if he is under that old gimmick, what would you pick, heel or face?

There is no doubt the fans remember Nash, they just WANT to cheer him. He'll come back as a face, yes indeed. Remember though, Nash never did get his pay back after the last time he faced Taker as Diesel did he? Hmmmmm...

...no I don't want him to be the one to beat Taker if anyone does, I'm just trying to scare some of ya! If anyone was to beat Taker, it would have to be an up and coming face, and my personal pick would be either Jericho, Booker T, or (yes I'm about to say it), Brock Lesnar. I don't think anyone SHOULD end the streak, but I think if anyone does it should be one of these guys eventually, have it this year, next, or whenever.

I wouldn't want the streak to end, but you have to believe Vince would end it if he felt necessary. Like everyone was saying, if someone was to beat him, it would have to be someone worth it. A-Train would obviously be a waste.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the streak actually supposed to end at Wrestlemania X7? The rumor back then was that there would be a referee bump, and then Shawn Michaels would run in and cost Taker the match to his buddy, HHH. But I think the entire idea was scrapped when HBK showed up to the Smackdown tapings the week before in "unfit" condition.

If he is the OLD 'Taker (Purple/Grey Gloves, ect.), I would want him to be face. If he returned to the "ministry" 'Taker, he should be heel.

I also say to keep the streak.

When did they start the undefeated thing? Was this planned from the start or did they realize after a few of em, he hadn't lost one yet and decided to run with that.

I think they never noticed until the HHH match at WMX7.

They MIGHT have mentioned it in the Bossman match. But I'm not sure.
