Guest NoCalMike Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Well right now it is 2:45 in the morning, I am starving, and waiting for my girlfriend to arrive, so in your area, what are the BEST places to go in the middle of the night to get food?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Easy one. Hardees. Either that or hit up the grocery store.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Grocery store, hands down. Biggest fridge there is...
Guest The Old Me Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Taco Bell, Sheetz or the grocery store.
Chunk Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 Are take aways open 24 hours a day everyday of the year in the USA? You'd have trouble finding a McDonalds open after 11:00pm on a sunday over here. ChUnK!
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 DENNY'S! The Grand Slam at any hour of the day = Good Stuff!
Guest The Old Me Posted January 11, 2003 Report Posted January 11, 2003 7-11 go go taquitos rule!!! in fact, 7-11 is GOD of convenience stores
Guest wwF1587 Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 grocery store or 7-11 Sometimes late at night Dennys doesnt have everything avaible so those two are your best bet
Guest Ace309 Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Your local Greek greasy spoon for a gyro.
Guest crandamaniac Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Jack in the Box. 24 hour Drive thru rules!
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 McDonalds: Open 24 Hours. I got hungry at about 3:30 last night, went to Mickey D's. 2 Big And Tasty' later, ended the hunger. Good thing I have 3 of them within walking distance...

Guest HungryJack Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 Denny's or Wendy's , or for my fellow canucks , Tim Horton's.
Guest razazteca Posted January 12, 2003 Report Posted January 12, 2003 1) Waffle House or any of the breakfast type restuarants execpt Dennys, I hate Dennys 2) Whataburger 3) Jack in a Box
Guest Mad Dog Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Waffle House or Wendy's if it's still open
Guest The Old Me Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Ah yes, I forgot the all mighty wafflehouse. Denny's can tend to suck. Weird things always happen when we go there.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 I'm 28 ... so I've had years of experience of munchies/alcohol hungry horrors. So, first, I NEVER leave myself unprepared for the late night urge. Top choice: Grilled F'ing Cheese. Takes 5 minutes and fills you up in a hurry. If I have no bread, throw the cheese in a tortilla, and go South of the Border for the night.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 McDonalds: Open 24 Hours. I got hungry at about 3:30 last night, went to Mickey D's. 2 Big And Tasty' later, ended the hunger. Good thing I have 3 of them within walking distance... Whats a big and tasty? Its McDonalds version of the whopper, only its now not even half the size of the whopper and they are currently the same price. And I say refrigerator as well.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Huddle House, BAYBEE~! It's more dinner-oriented than Waffle House, sez I. Still the same things at each place, but Huddle House does dinner-ey things better.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Waffle House fears IHOP.

We dont have that here in England. Its just Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Chicken Sandwich, Fillet of Fish. There are other smaller ones, but they are the main sandwiches. You guys are spoiled for choice ChUnK!
Guest starvenger Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 McDonalds: Open 24 Hours. I got hungry at about 3:30 last night, went to Mickey D's. 2 Big And Tasty' later, ended the hunger. Good thing I have 3 of them within walking distance... Whats a big and tasty? FYI, Big 'n' Tasty is called the Big Xtra in Canada. I have no idea why. In Toronto, you can hit several Chinese diners/restaurants to get substantial amounts of food. My personal choice would be Richmond Court - fairly cheap, BIG portions. There's also bubble tea houses, but the food generally isn't very big. You go there for the bubble tea anyways. And, of course, there's Tim Horton's or Country Style for your coffee/donut/sandwich fix.
Chunk Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Do you get free re-fill on shakes and "soda" in the US? Also whats bubble tea? Is it fizzy tea? Sounds good ChUnK!
Guest starvenger Posted January 13, 2003 Report Posted January 13, 2003 Do you get free re-fill on shakes and "soda" in the US? Also whats bubble tea? Is it fizzy tea? Sounds good ChUnK! Bubble tea (or boba tea) is basically flavoured (e.g. mango, papaya, taro) green or black tea that you can drink hot or cold, with or without creamer. The twist is that they throw these tapioca balls ("pearls") down at the bottom which you suck out via a thick straw. I can't really describe it all that well, so here's a site that explains it for you. If your area has a sizeable Chinese population, chances are that you'll find a bubble tea store there...

You guys are spoiled for choice ChUnK! You're not missing much. Big N Tastys' aren't very good. However I'm not a fan of McDonalds so i'm a bit biased. The only things i will eat from them are Quarter Pounders, Nuggets and Fries. I'm on the outskirts of the city in my area so I'm screwed as far as late night fast food. I'm usually stuck with White Castles, Subway or Grocery Store. I hate subway and white castles is something i can only eat every few months. So if i can't find something in house it's the grocery store for me.
