Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted January 17, 2003 First off, yes, Justice Pain is one of the worst indy names you could ever come up with, as someone already alluded to. wow, that came from nowhere. Serioulsy though, how much must Rob Black be offering to make him make that jump? Either Rob Black is richer than we thought, or he has no idea how to handle money. ChUnK! The CZW website linked in the topic post said 5000 up front and 600 a match. But I don't know if Zandig really knows what XPW would pay, especially since that seems really high for Justice Pain, who really isn't anything outside of Philly (though he is a big something inside of it). Then again, if tickets to a show are arouind 15 bucks or so, he only has to bring in 40 people. XPW usually draws around 600, I think, so maybe you can just forget about what I said in the beginning. Anyone know how much does CZW pay, about? What is even more offensive, is during Messiah's shoot at the end of UFOE (Ultraviolent Freedom of Expression), aside from Mondo and Wifebeater in the ring, Pain is the first person out of the locker room to come out and hug Mondo. Looks like Pain was just looking for a place to put the knife in Messiah's back. It could be that he was against XPW until they offered him as much as they did. Let us all now put pins in our Justice Pain dolls, and wish him harm, due to his irrational need to want to make the most money he can to feed himself. Damn that man to hell. Would you stab one of your friends in the back for money? Theres more to life, and wrestling, than making money. ChUnK! Well, we don't know if Justice Pain and the Messiah were friends. But if they were, and unless Justice Pain really needed the money, then that was a fucked-up thing to do. Plus, it's Rob Black. But it's not right for me to comment to much on a situation I don't know much about. And that's why rob black seems to be successful at what he does, whether it be wrestling or porn... He knows how to press peoples buttons... He's trying to put people out of business. That's why he signed Pain, not because he wanted to push anyone's buttons. Pushing buttons is just a side effect. He also gets to work with a better group of workers in XPW .. Danny Doring, Juvy, Juilo Dinero, Shane Douglas , Chris Hamrick, Psicosis and Kaos are better than what CZW could offer him... Plus the ablility to work on both coasts... He'd be a fool not to go for the deal... I love Danny Doring and hope he can get into the WWE one day, but he's not that great in the ring. Entertaining, yes. Great at getting a crowd into a match and interacting with them, yes. But he's not that special in the ring. Juventud is a broken down shell, from what I've heard. I'm pretty sure the WWE opted not to sign him because of it. Dinero is always fun to watch. I'm surprised he wasn't picked up by the WWE yet. Shane Douglas was ass in WCW, I doubt he's better now. Chris Hamrick works hard and goes all-out with everything. I actually like Psicosis more now than I did in WCW. Kaos is ass, and that's worse than being ass like Shane Douglas is ass, since Kaos is still fairly young and isn't all beaten to hell like Shane. I heard stuff about how he could do some amazing stuff, but I've see three of his matches, and they were all ass. Boring, too. Boring ass. Dinero, Hamrick and there's an okay shot with Psicosis or Juvi. Those are the good matches he could have out of those guys. And I can't think of any other standouts XPW has except Super Crazy. Keep in mind, I'm saying they'll be good in that most people will love 'em, because Justice Pain has never done anything for me. I'd like to see him versus Kaos, but that's only because I hate both of them and if they have a match, it means one of them loses. But in CZW, he had Gage, Mondo, Messiah, Acid, Hatred, Ruckus, etc. I'm not saying I'd like all of those, either...but most people would, and that's what would count. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Theres more to life, and wrestling, than making money. Bull shit. Maybe when you're ME'ing in the WWE. But, as an indy wrestler, he's probably *far* from being financially secure. In a job where you could be paralyzed for life during your next match, you've always gotta look out for yourself and your family above all else. "Putting on a show for the fans" is all noble and makes people feel all warm & fuzzy, but at the end of the day, "I put on a great show tonight" doesn't pay for food or insurance or rent, etc. Now, working for Rob Black might not be the wisest decision to make, but if he's happy and is making more money, more power to him. Doesnt the fact that these guys go out there and put there bodies on the line to work matches for pittence, show you that there is more to Wrestling than money? Surely if they were all in it for the money, they would have left the industry and got more secure jobs years ago. A lot of indy guys will have jobs outside the ring. If they were in it for the money, wouldnt they work thier full job full time? ChUnK!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted January 19, 2003 They're probably not in it solely for the money. I'm sure they love being wrestlers, and want to make it in the big time. That being said, they need to look out for themselves and their families. Wrestling is also a job, and as such money is always going to be a concern, even more so since they put their bodies on the line every night. If they get seriously hurt, it would also effect their "normal" job as well (if they have one). If they can make more money doing what they love, they'd be crazy to turn down the opportunity. Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted January 20, 2003 I don't think you guys fully understand the implications here. It's not really about money. Justice Pain was trained by CZW, one of the first four graduates of the CZW Wrestling Academy. He was groomed into a draw by CZW and pushed to the very top for the past year and a half, jobbing far less often than HHH. CZW made Justice Pain, who in my opinion isn't that special a worker, not too much different from, say, Sean O'Haire or WCW-era Chuck Palumbo in wrestling skill. And Justice Pain turned his back on all of that. He turned on the Messiah, someone I assumed Pain thought very highly of, by working for the person who mutilated him. (Allegedly my ass, Black did it.) Hell, he turned his back on Nick Gage, his own brother, to work for the enemy. Justice Pain turned his back on the CZW family. I'm sorry, but I thought for most people, friends and family were more important than money, especially if they money is coming from somewhere like Extreme Associates. I don't know, maybe I'm just young and naive. To clarify, I don't have a problem with a porn company running a wrestling promotion, or at least I wouldn't if it was a company like Vivid, which is relatively tame mainstream porn. EA, on the other hand, is disgusting fetish porn that covers taboo, deviant and just plain wrong aspects of the human sexual psyche. I can't look at Lizzie Borden and Kristi Myst, for example, without feeling sick. Even though they're attractive, I know where they've been.

And Spaceman, while I agree that wrestlers should look after their families first, CZW were like a family to Pain. It wasnt just a group of guys he saw once in a while. ChUnK!
