Guest Downhome Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Tonight, I didn't know if he was offering gay man sex, or if he was trying to talk people into sinning, and then I thought of this. I think this will be a type of "Satan" gimmick, and each week or so for a while, we'll see a different type of promo like that, trying to get people to do a different sin every week. My cousin said a great name for him would be... Sean "The Devil's Advocate" O'Haire ...and I quite like that myself, I just wish they could get The Sinister Minister to manage him! Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Rob E Dangerously Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Where it is going? Nowhere. Like EVERY gimmick the WWE tries. Sad, eh?
Guest Downhome Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Where it is going? Nowhere. Like EVERY gimmick the WWE tries. Sad, eh? Blah, I should have thought about that one myself, I should know better eh? If it's as funny as it was tonight though, I'll settle for the promo's if nothing more, lol.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I kinda like it...a gimmick is all the guy needs really. He's an above average worker and has an spooky look to him
Rob E Dangerously Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 One thing somebody noticed in a chat room about the Nathan Jones promos is that he mentions wanting to like himself, or people, or something DDPish. So, he got 10 years in prison for killing a man for having low self-esteem. What about an eventual O'Haire/Nathan Jones pairing?
Guest SP-1 Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I've liked him since I saw him in what was either a Dark Match or a Heat taping at the RAW in Charleston back in November. I think he has alot of charisma and is at least good in the ring. I think he might be better there than we think, though. It's could be an interesting gimmick. I don't know if I like it, for various reasons, but it might be interesting at least.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I thought that was easily one of the shittiest promos I've seen in a while. "Come on, your wife should fuck me" over and over and OVER only said a different way each time. Sean O'Haire is above average in the ring? Maybe if the average is Terri Runnels. He has a good look but that's it.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Also I thought of a crazy angle where Sean O'Haire could fuck Dawn Marie and Al Wilson's ghost comes to haunt him and the Undertaker comes back as Ministry Taker and he has Ghost Al with him to take out O'Haire. As long as it gets O'Haire jobbed out I'm happy.

Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I've liked O'Haire since his WCW days, so needless to say, my interest is piqued. As long as they don't go the man-sex route, that is.
Guest notJames Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I've liked O'Haire since his WCW days, so needless to say, my interest is piqued. As long as they don't go the man-sex route, that is. Yeah, RAW's main event pretty much has that taken care of.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I didn't catch all of the promo, but from what everyone is saying, I can pretty much figure out what was said. My thought is.....what if it has something to do with Raven's masterpiece? After all, I don't think Raven used "lust"....and I mean that in the least slashy way possible.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 all i caught was the SEAN O'HAIRE at the end, what did he say?
Guest converge241 Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 i dont know where its going, but ive always liked him, so Im excited. It should be interesting to see how the gimmick would translate into feuds et all...Im imagining maybe something along the lines of him causing problems with a wrestler's wife a la Roberts/Rude maybe..or He will dig up (storyline) dirt on wrestlers and try to push their buttons I like Cena but dont like the BBoy gimmick but if they did these kind of promos i wouldve been more amped about it Even the Natahan Jones ones are good I miss all the vignettes they used to do before a character debuted and Im glad to see it back
Guest tetsubeav Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I said this during the RAW thread last night. I think he'll be just like a little devil on your shoulder sort of thing. I believe a lot of people are getting too wrapped up in just one promo thinking he'll just be focusing on lust. I'm guessing it'll go more of a temptation, give in to sin/"bad things" deal instead of just focusing on the lust thing. Personally, I think this will be a damn cool gimmick if WWE just sticks with it. Might be a catalyst for a few heel turns as well.
Guest BobbyWhioux Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 I mentioned this already in a general RAW discussion thread, not seeing there was a specific Sean O'Haire thread. So here we go again: For some reason, the Sean O'Haire promo immediately reminded me of Grand Theft Auto 3, and the Fernando Martinez character. One of the radio commercials in the game is for "Fernando's New Beginnings" which is purportedly an "exotic marraige counseling service" that is actually basically just prostitution pure and simple. "I give the passion back! Your wives, they will thank me!" [He theory is he "gives the passion back to marraige" by getting the guy excited about sex again, by hooking him up with new women, i.e. hookers.] The similarities in promises just jumped out at me immediately. Does anyone else see it?
Guest notJames Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 So he's going to be the new Godfather?

Guest BobbyWhioux Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 Man...now that I think about it, I'd rather see Fernando in the WWE. Yeah, the more I think about the similarities, the more I find myself wishing Sean O'Haire was doing a horribly fake latin accent during that promo. And in response to NotJames' question, no. See, this is the brilliance of the WWE brain trust. This is a pimp, but he's a HEEL. That makes him completely different from The Godfather. This is a totally new idea!!! This is mindblowing, avant-garde, cutting edge characterization and story-writing! [chuckle]

That's too high-concept for WWE, especially who is writing... *points to Stephanie, who is being distracted by something shiny, then Gerwitz, with is flipping through the latest X-Men in between writing another Ass Cream skit while chuckling to himself.* I'll bet Steph just happened to rent Deuce Bigelow, and went back to her father's old methods of gimmick inspiration: steal from a movie.
Guest netslob Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 is it just me, or could O'Haire pass as Brendan Fraser's psychotic twin brother?
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 eh, As long as he's on I'm happy.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted January 14, 2003 Report Posted January 14, 2003 This has nothing to do with RAVEN! Jeez I'm tired of everything relating to Raven's masterpiece. "OH MY GOD! HHH is wearing black! Raven wears black! It's all part of the flock!"
Guest TheGame2705 Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 Why do so many people like Sean O'Haire? why? Why?!
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 He's got a good body, and some people find that a turn on.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 It's a pity for Sean that the Ross Report's have ended, he was all set to be the next Bradshaw when it came to JR's verbal blowjobs
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 And Patterson's physical ones.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 is it just me, or could O'Haire pass as Brendan Fraser's psychotic twin brother? Now that you mention it...he does sorta-kinda-maybe look like Brendan.
Guest SP-1 Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 is it just me, or could O'Haire pass as Brendan Fraser's psychotic twin brother? I had noticed what I precieved to be a resemblance to Fraser at the November RAW I first really took notice of him at.
