Guest big Dante Cruz Report post Posted January 15, 2003 There is NO WAY this actually won. If Austin doesn't come back, then hell... I don't know what to say. DAMMIT! We want Mick! We want Mick! How did that NOT make the top ten you pricks?!
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted January 15, 2003 This is number one, so Vince can badmouth Austin... again.
Guest benoitrulz4life Report post Posted January 15, 2003 This was a pretty good segment but not no. 1. Rock's sideburns ruled, I grew some like that my senior year in high school. If Austin doesn't come up this show sucks big balls. Oh wait it already does.
Guest Luke Michael Report post Posted January 15, 2003 That show was the most god awful and boring award show I've ever seen! Where were the surpises? WWE is shit!!!!!!
Guest JHawk Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Flyboy, I wasn't asked to recap it, so I didn't, and thank God because I don't think anybody from the WWE would have ever read my stuff again after that. What a fucking joke of a show.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Jared, I would have asked to recap it, but I came to my senses... What a retched show.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted January 15, 2003 And the sad thing, APO, is this show should have been a reporter's dream to recap. But we get Mae Young winning an award that did nothing except make me throw out 2/3 of a bowl of ice cream.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Couple obsevations: During that "Don't Try this at Home" award, did anyone else hear a couple of guys chant "RVD" even though he wasn't even in the catergory? And what was the message with the Big Show/Undertaker thing? "Don't buy a cheap ring"? Trish Diva of the Decade? More like the Diva of the Year...see kids, that's what happens when you're on bad terms with your past divas. TLC 4 match of the decade? Uhhh it wasn't even the match of the year on Raw. Scratch that, it wasn't even the best match with ladders of the year! Scratch that, it wasn't even the best match with ladders *and* RVD of the year. BTW, RVD doing to the thumb pose with a suit and glasses on was the highlight of my night.... And wassup with Jericho's debut not on the top ten? Austin beer bath in the number 1 moment of the decade? What a sad decade...
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted January 15, 2003 No shit, man. Once Vince came out and basically buried Austin again, I just gave up and stopped paying attention altogether. THEN, they had TLSuck 2002 win Best Match and I just turned the TV off. What a fucking waste of time.
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted January 15, 2003 I was at work and we weren't busy so I turned the TV on. I saw the footage of May Young birthing the hand. I saw it win an award. I turned off the TV and didn't turn it on again. Fuck you WWE. Fuck you all to hell.
Guest JMFabiano524 Report post Posted January 15, 2003 That show was the most god awful and boring award show I've ever seen! Where were the surpises? WWE is shit!!!!!! And does anyone still wonder why I've pretty much excommunicated myself from WWE fandom? The only remotely amusing part of this show was the bad gimmick montage (and BTW, I do agree with SK when I say that I too actually liked some of them). The only reason I took two hours out of my WWE boycott was hoping for a touch of old school, but they really think all our memories start with the late '90s "boom," huh? Well, let's not make this a total loss...how about we name moments WE'D feature prominently if we did Raw X? I'll start with: - Raw after Revenge of the Taker, aka Raw is Austin vs. Bret..."We're going straight to hell!" anyone? And Pillman's surprise return just made the night sweeter - Got mentioned a few times, actually (as a token nod to Foley and another occasion to mention HHH), but Cactus Jack returning was great - The May ??, 1993 Raw with 1-2-3 Kid being born and Jannetty winning the I-C belt - Yes, RAW is JERICHO needed to be there - Any and all Edge and Christian segments from 2000 - Austin and Angle fight for Vince's love, again any and all segments - More early Rock moments..."The Rock thinks you should fire him"..."All the Rock's fans want to know how the Rock feels about (current event topic du jour)"...Rock's gift giving to the Nation...and so forth and so on - Canadian Chrisses vs. Two Man Power Trip (oh wait, they'd stress Crip's injury) - More DX v1.0 (yes I know HBK and HHH's stock has rightfully fallen in the IWC, but even I admit having fond memories of their skits. The shock value might have worn off over the years, but there were still some gems there) - Rob Bartlett imitating Vince ("Idunnoaboutthat, Brain...", "It's ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!") - Jim Cornette debuts, a shocking moment and if I'm not mistaken, this was when the WWF first acknowledged another promotion by name, right? - Bob Backlund takes on the New Generation - Bret's cursing fit, post cage match vs. Sid (that and the gun angle, which got screwed, were really the first edgy signs shown by the WWF) - And I'm sure others will go ape listing matches. As it is I'm rambling anyways. I will say that if they NEEDED a match from this year, Eddy vs. RVD was much better than TLC (because Kane basically imitated Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and let everyone else take the bumps until he had to make his big Hoss comeback) 4. Sorry for the tasteless joke, but I couldn't resist. Well, let's keep the ball that the WWE dropped rolling here...
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted January 15, 2003 This was a waste of tv time. Total garbage..... I really cannot understand how some of you say this show was better than RAW. Why couldn't they at least do a timeline of the show?!?!
Guest Jack Tunney Report post Posted January 15, 2003 I thought Perfect/Flair shoulda been match of the decade.I remember watching that while my parents kept telling me to go to bed (I was 9 at the time) and I was all like,"NOOOO!!!!".And I won and got to see the match. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Did they have to do some bullshit "awards" show? How about just JR and Lawler sitting at their announce table in an empty arena just reminiscing about the last 10 years with clips of matches and moments spliced in. And I don't remember Andre ever being on RAW. That crowd was dead silent at the end and everyone there looked bored as hell.
Guest Miss Indy Queen Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Andre was never on raw. Which I found odd that they had him listed when he was never on it. I was surprised they didn't even put Bertha Faye even though HBK mentioned her in the beginning with the whole Diva's thing. As for the crowd, the crowd was DEAD SILENT at the end. Most of the fans there thought it was a total disappointment, myself included, and at that point I just wanted the show to be over with so I can leave. It just wasn't what I expected. Hell i'm at the point where i only watch Raw because i enjoy watching Train Wrecks and i enjoy seeing just how bad Raw can get. Also it's fun to mock Raw now so that's another reason why i still watch it.

But for me personally, it actually got so painful not even that was fun anymore (which goes for much of the WWE as a whole anyway). Plus why dignify the crap by giving it my attention? Especially since now more than ever, it is obvious that they are booking for themselves, not us.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Report post Posted January 15, 2003 What a valuable waste of my time. The unfortunate thing is neither NWA-TNA nor WWE have been trying to gain interest from fans lately with their bullshit(WWE: Hosses being pushed, good wrestlers being shafted, HHH vs. Scott Steiner, etc. NWA-TNA: LOD, Vince Russo, Harris Boys, etc.), so basically we're getting WWE and WWE-lite. Guest converge241 Report post Posted January 15, 2003 I was going to not watch for fear of a letdown, and watch my rented copy of XXX but that w as so awful i figured to give Raw X a shot far beyond disapointing and brutal Jericho had to job to a pre-taped video of the Rock!!! why have Bisch and Vince bury Foley and Austin... just continue with the verbal blowjobs for the current people I kept watching for some kindof payoff/surprise/anything the best part right now was the surreal Rock video with the fans just laying into him, especially when he got all quiet and thanked the fans see if it really was live or they brought him in he could have fully turned heel and reacted, instead of them pretending the video was live ..and making Rock and WWE look like idiots as he keeps thanking the fans as the rip him
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted January 15, 2003 Once Trish won Diva of the Decade, I knew the Show was going to Crap. Nice of HBK to rip into the late Bertha Faye, then not even give her a mention is the "tribute." I think a few others were missing from that "Tribute" also. The Show was filled with such crap, but it was kind of cool to see some of the "Older" stuff. WWE always does Great with the Video packages. If anything, it was worth watching just to hear that Pop Bret Hart Got and even the "We Want Bret" chants. Kind of funny with the "Sickest Moves" segment with No RVD mention and the Fans letting them know it with the "RVD" Chants.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted January 15, 2003 You know, it would have simply been a blah award show if not for the fact that they promised SURPRISES (they did say this, right?) and did not deliver. It looked like Foley was coming, but he didn't. It looked like Austin was coming, or Vince was going to say something about him coming, and then Vince buries him. (I lost interest at that point.) Then we get a TAPE of the Rock. (Thank god for the NY crowd who shit all over that.) sigh.....its weird how it seems they are REGRESSING...how is that possible? niko
