Guest Luke Michael Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I actually felt bad for Trish after she did her speech though. Was she really that honored to get that "award"? Everyone knows she's just doing the same things Sable, Sunny, and Chyna did but not as good. I hope TNN rips a new asshole into the WWE. I'm sure they thought they were going to get something special too. In fact the preview on the tv said something like "Superstars from the past return." I didn't see any superstars from the past and I have cheated by the WWE. Was that just a ploy to get us to watch and get them a good rating? It must have been.
Guest notJames Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 Worst Award Show Ever. How the CVC v. 2-Man Power Trip tag title match didn't even get mentioned, let alone win Best Match of the Decade, is beyond me. Hell, the Ausin/HBK v. Commonwealth Connection v1.0 tag title match didn't even get a mention, and that was easily either #1 or #2. And I like Trish and all, but all the other nominees did way more in their runs with the Fed than she did. Fuckin' politics. How was Hakushi a bad gimmick? Or Waylon Mercy? Or Jean-Pierre LaFitte... oh wait, he was a pirate... ugh. Bret's cursefest definitely should have won the Network Difficulties award. I think that was the point where I returned to wrestling (and the WWF specifically) for good. Thank god for VCRs. No way could I have sat through that live.
Guest Breetai Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I'd just like to point out that everyone here was acting like Bart did in the Kamp Krusty episodes of the Simpsons. Austin is coming.... Austin IS coming.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 The first award set the tone for the entire show... Trish for Diva of the Decade? She sucks! I hate Trish. She has undoubtedly been the Diva of 2002 but beyond that she has vitually been nonexistent.
Guest bradolson Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I thought it was appropriate that HHH left early so he wouldn't have to lower himself to going on stage and thanking the fans. Class act there.
Guest HartFan86 Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I still laugh when the Rock thanks the fans while they are chanting "BORING". Live from Hollywood my ass.
Guest gangsteruwa Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I can't believe I missed 24 and the Sheild for that piece of crap. I honestly should have known better. The WWE hasn't done anything good since......oh great, I can't remember the last good thing they did. Can I sue the WWE for waisting over 100 hours of my life this past year or so? But what is the use of bitching anymore? They don't care, they'll never fix their problems. I just wish the WWE would be put out of its misery.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 The show wasn't that bad....not good either. Somewhere in between "okay" and "ehh..whatever". Seeing Brock and RVD in classy suits, and acting like their normal selves (Brock's happy dance and RVD's thumb point) was....interesting. All the video packages made the show worth it, and they'll make great additions to my documents tape. What was sad was seeing Matt, Hurricane....for no reason at all. They were invited, which was a good thing, but what was the point of them being there? Matt should have at LEAST presented an award...or hell, he AND the Hurricane could of presented. Would have been more entertaining than Book-Dust. Tazz and Cole....that was entertaining. Cole: "And this is the award for...*hesitates* Shut up and kiss me". Tazz's reaction was funny. Plus, Cole in a "dorky-classy-biker look" was... Perhaps I'm the only gal here that would rather stare at Cole in that outfit, than HHH in his skivvies on Raw. *shrug*
Guest FakeRazor Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I thought the show was a complete and utter dissapointment. No special appearances. Not one. I sort of expected to see Foley, and I thought there was an outside chance of seeing Austin. Once Vince said that Austin wasn't invited, I was expecting him to show up and crash. I gotta say, I'm pretty angry at the nearly complete lack of pre-1997 footage. It's the 10th anniversary, not the 5th. What the hell were they thinking with the best match nominees? Undertaker vs. Jeff Hardy? Kane vs. Steve Austin? TLC 2002 won?!?!?! Are they fucking insane? The Rock's segement was painful to watch. He REALLY died out there. "Team Suck Squad?" The Wrestlecrap segment was pretty much the only cool thing of the night. Oh well, at least RAW is Owen placed in the top two. 10 years of footage, thousands of matches, two networks... and this is what they came up with?
Guest El Satanico Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 I can't believe I missed 24 and the Sheild for that piece of crap. Why on earth would you choose a Anniversary Clips Show over 24 and The Shield? Good lord man piorities. Even if Raw X discussed the whole history of Raw with clips and had a few "stars from the past" it wouldn't have been as good as 24 and The Shield.
Guest JMFabiano524 Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Nice of HBK to rip into the late Bertha Faye, then not even give her a mention is the "tribute." I think a few others were missing from that "Tribute" also. Well to be fair, was there any "classy" Bertha Faye footage to put in the tribute? People who cared would probably be just as offended having the only "memories" being her making an ass out of herself. The other omission, as per SK's rant, was Louie Spicolli. That one would be easier, since they'd have him as himself if they didn't want to "demean" him with Rad Radford clips. Yes I know he was a jobber in the WWF, well maybe they could have cheated and snuck in some WCW clips?
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Matt should have at LEAST presented an award...or hell, he AND the Hurricane could of presented. Would have been more entertaining than Book-Dust. Boooo! take that back!
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 In terms of nominations, I mean...oh forget it. Fine, I do take it back. Still, Hurricane/Matt would've been better than some of the other presenters.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted January 16, 2003 Report Posted January 16, 2003 Yeah RAW X without the 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time WCW champion would have been even worst. It is a shame Shane (shanny ) Helms didn't get a chance to speak....he had the mask on and everything.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted January 17, 2003 Report Posted January 17, 2003 Was the 10 Man Tag Match back in 2000 even nominated for Match of the Decade. It kinda would of been nice to see Jericho pull an Owen Hart and just take the award the Rock won. If the Rock isn't going to be at the event, and cuts some half-assed promo from 2,000 miles he shouldn't of won the award.
