My Plan for The Rock

Recommended Posts

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen

Since it's obvious that Steve Austin will be appearing on SmackDown because of his hatred for everything RAW, bring back Rock on RAW. Have it be a surprise during an HHH promo. But, here's the twist do a double-turn with them. The fans no longer want to cheer The Rock, HHH as the dominant heel on RAW is becoming tiresome. Have Rocky become an arrogent asshole Hollywood heel, (It worked for for Hogan.) Turn HHH into a silent badass tweener who never talks and who you're never sure will strike next (ala Sting 97) Cut their hair, change their muisc, give Rock a stable, have Flair turn on HHH, and follow it up with the ultimate money match Rock/HHH HIAC at Wrestlemania while Jericho and Kane fight for the World Title, Austin and Benoit fight on SD! and Angle and Lesnar face off for the WWE Title.

I guaruntee this will make more money than Goldberg because WWE fans love things that were created by the WWE (What happened to WCW as the faces of InVasion?) or that were introduced to them by the WWE (Austin.) They generally have a negative reaction to guys from WCW until they've been here a while and turned a few times.

Is that sarcasm? Sounds like something Vince would say during a meeting.

"LETS DO ROCK / HHH. EVERYTHING I CREATED IS BETTER THAN ANY SH*T FROM WCW. THE FANS LOVE ROCK, HHH IS GOD, LETS PUT THEM TOGETHER BUT WITH HHH AS A FACE!"

To be frank, I've been proven right on many occasions about this.

InVasion: wCw could never become faces because fans had been coached from Day 1 that the WWF was superior in every possible way. Then they were proven right when they bought them out.

nWo: Hall, Nash, and Hogan became stars in the WWE, the WWE fans loved them. When the Outsiders left, they were deeply missed. The crowd responded with jubilation as if three prodigal sons had returned.

Undertaker: The fans will never stop popping for him. Why? Because he never left the WWE.

Why do the fans still love Bret? Because they feel sorry for him, and because they saw the shitty way he was treated by WCW and wanted him to have one last run in the place where he was created, the WWE.

The fans would respond to a story specifically tailored to them. it's human nature, if you write a comic book for a certain group of fans, in the style they love, they will love it. Same goes with this. This angle can be for everyone who watched in 2000 and never got to see the blow-off for this feud.

The invasion did not work, not beacause of being trained to be WWF loyalists or at most only a small part but because the biggest WCW name they brought in was Booker T. If they had gotten Sting, Goldberg, Steiner, and Bischoff in the first place people would have taken it seriously. And you figure the second biggest name brought in was DDP who was squashed at first sight. Look at the InVasion PPV main event Booker/DDP/Dudz/Rhyno against Jericho/Austin/Angle/UT/Kane. Who would ever think that there was any chance of WCW winning without someone turning with them.

I saw Rock should be like Randy Orton. A heel who wants desperately to be a face.

Let him do the same act again and again, but feud with other faces and piss off the crowd.

Well... it didn't work for a lot of reasons. Being turned into McMahon-mania was number one in my book.

What about Rock leading the horsemen? Rock would be good in the Ric Flair role of the limosine riding, jet flying, wheelin dealin, kiss stealin, son of a gun. HHH would step in the role of Lex Luger or Tully while Orton would be more like Barry Windham. Batista would just be a silent Arn Anderson enforcer type. Have Flair be JJ Dillon and wa-la. This also gets HHH out of the number 1 heel spot and having to back the Rock, a thing fans and smarks haven't seen yet and is fresh. HHH could then be put in a position to elevate faces on Raw that need elevating. He can still keep his heel heat by bailing out the Rock anytime he gets in trouble in a match. And this can all happen if Vince makes it so. HHH playing second banana to Rock can work, Vince just has to give the nod. Instead, we'll probrably get a boring retread of the horsemen with HHH as the mouthpiece instead of someone like Rock.

uuum....Triple H is awful as a face.....he's awful as a heel too <_< , but a little better as one. I agree the Rock should turn heel cause he's much better in the role of the arrogant ass that thinks he's better than everyone, but if you're gonnna do a double turn with the Rock do it with Jericho. I think it would be a perfect recipe for a hot feud which is fresh with the sides switching.

No, you're wrong. From Fully Loaded 2000 till WrestleMania X-7, The Game was drawing significant heel pops. He got a great reaction at X-7 considering he was facing the Undertaker in Houston. His latest face turn sucked because the writing sucks. End of story.

Plus, to compare my idea to past face turns is moronic, what i'm proposing isn't a simple turn, it's a complete change in character. He won't talk he won't give bad promos, he'll use his strengths:

1. His precise timing

2. His acute knowledge of what fans expect to see from a certain character and how they will react to it.

He's going to be a total badass, shill it as "Rock pushing him over the edge" do whatever. But this can work. The fans view Rock as a sell-out and Hunter as a company man already. Play to what's ALREADY THERE.

We have seen Rock / HHH 9,006 times. Can't we do something new? Something that builds up a different talent, one who will not be off doing movies 90% of the time, or one who is frighteningly not as over as his push and is injury prone?

1. This is a temporary feud. From now till Wrestlemania

2. Rock/HHH drew the most of any feud since Hogan/Andre. 2000 was more profitable then Austin/McMahon

3. They never got a blow-off a WrestleMania match must be that blow-off

4. This could be interesting just to see how fans react to the double-turn. They may hate Rock so much thet'll pop for HHH anyway.

5. It will finally freshen HHH's character so he can stop being The Game.

6. It leaves the World Title free for RVD and Jericho

7. it turns Rock heel

8. It gives RAW a new star

9. It can possibily boost RAW's ratings (The Rock/HHH match before SS was the highest rated RAW post-BE)

That totally shot down your entire case the. It was not because it was just from WCW, it was the way it was booked, any moron can tell that.

By the way, why are you so sure that Austin isn't going to RAW? They basicly already set up his RAW feud on the X special, with Vince/Bishoff/Shane/HHH. For the next month, Bishoff will TRY to make the shows great, but it'll always end in him getting screwed over. Shane will take over, and then Austin will debut on Shane's very first RAW in which he has controll, to make Shane look that much more fan friendly, and Bishoff more of a moron.

HHH leaving after Austin won the award sets up him being pissed, and ready to fight Austin, once again.

Nah. Bischoff will bring in Austin, piss off Vince and HHH, break off eventually, and then they'll go with Bischoff/Austin.

I don't think that would go along with the current storyline they are laying out right now. It would make much more sense to have Shane re-debut Austin, Bishoff getting pissed, thus starting a renegade group to go against Austin/Shane, leading to a match or something at WM for controll of RAW.

We really need to get away from the 'control of' storylines.

What the WWF REALLY needs is a fake Austin to really piss off the fans - this allows for an automatic 'in' for Austin's return. I wouldn't be surprised to see Austin on Smackdown because 1)He has Angle and Benoit to work with and 2)He has Paul Heyman to work with (Paul helped work on the 'what' deal with Austin and seems to have a good working relationship with him.) Even though 'character-wise' he belongs on RAW.

Allow me to rephrase that.... I think a damn large part is yadda yadda...

Before anyone says I'm wrong remember this. Mcmahon getting caught with this pants down during the match got 1000000 X the pop the actual match did.

T'was not. The RAW the day after Vengeance where Bischoff came back and Rock and Eddie fought in the main was rated higher than the one you mentioned. The first few RAWs right after the Brand Extension had more viewers also.

I'm for the idea of Rock being the leader of the Horsemen and I would love to see Flair play the role of his agent. Have HHH in the group initially with Randy Orton and Batista. Arn Anderson could be given an occassional role as their motivator in tough times. Eventually do an old school Horsemen turn on HHH.
