Guest Banky Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Fucking embiciles! Its a fucking province in Canada, of course they'd have their own goddamn University. Honestly, its like me being surprised there is a University of Oklahoma. Dangerously, get your head out of your ass or you won't get treated like a fucking fool. PS. I go to that University, hence my frustration with this FUCKING idiot.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Don't get so offended. It's the goddamn University of Saskatchewan. It didn't even make Maclean's top 10 universities list.
Guest Banky Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Don't get so offended. It's the goddamn University of Saskatchewan. It didn't even make Maclean's top 10 universities list. Idiot! Its the principal that one shouldn't be so ignorant to be shocked that there is a University named after a damned province. And *obviously* I am getting less of an education because my University wasn't ranked by MacLeans. I guess people who take medicine there can't be doctors because they went to the *gasp* University of Saskatchewan. Its about using one's brain. Its quite sad that I, of all people, need to point it out to some people. Thats pathetic.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Banky has every right to be pissed- I don't see why it's such a big shock that it warrants a thread.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted January 16, 2003 There was a picture of my university (Trent) in the Macleans magazine. Apparently they make us better students, or something. *looks at first semester marks* Hmm...

Its quite sad that I, of all people, need to point it out to some people. Thats pathetic. I realize that. It's just that people forget sometimes how little Americans know about Canada. I could probably tell you all the capitals of each state and yet almost 90% of Americans do not know who the Prime Minister of Canada is.
Guest Banky Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Its flat out ignorance. He insulted everyone's intelligence by making this thread. I don't care if I reprimanded for this thread, but Dangerously is a fucking fool. He needs to know that so he doesn't make a dumb thread like this again. He outta be ashamed because I pity the fool. "and they play football in Canada. They're the Huskies" We only play football after we clear the snow off of our football fields with snow mobiles in July. And did you know we live in Igloos too? And all we do is hunt and eat beef jerkey over a hot stove in our unelectrecuted chanties. Dude acts all surprised we play football in Canada. What a putz. Someone should close this thread before I rant on.

Is it someone named Jacques, by the way? And most Americans can't even name the Vice President of OUR country--how do you expect them to know the PM of Canada? I'm not surprised there is a Sas U, though. However, I couldn't tell you anything about it.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted January 16, 2003 The PM of Canada is Jean Chretien. It's just flat out ignorance on Rob's part and stuff like this is one of the reasons Canadians look down upon on Americans

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 16, 2003 As long as Canada stays a rather low-profile nation that doesn't really do much in world affairs, people are going to know very little about it. I can't say that I've seen Jean on CNN giving any speeches lately. Canada trades with us, but in most aspects it's an isolationist nation, with a political system that seems so foreign to us. So, the American perceptions of Canada are defined by stereotypes, because that's pretty much all most Americans have to go by. I know it goes both ways, but a lot more is known about America besides it's stereotypes. I'm well aware that most Canadians are basically just like us--just with money that's worth less, higher taxes, a less diverse media (I know overexposure makes many Canadians hate Rush), and some socialist programs like free medical care. However, I'm more knowledgable than most. Most Americans think of Canadians as living in shacks, going ice fishing, and saying "ay" and "aboot." That's just the way things are. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted January 16, 2003 What the fuck was the point of starting this thread you fucking imbecile. Oh wow a cheap shot at Canada!!!! You're so clever Rob I'm in awe. Banky has every right to blow a gasket since this thread serves no purpose only but to take up space in WWE folder and so you can go: Canada is backwards. HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA And don't like you're some sort of mod with this 'Any more discussion blah blah blah pleasure me anally' The wars remark pretty much makes no sense since Canada doesn't really need to fight any wars at the moment so I fail to see your point there. Basically- you're a moron and don't act like your some sort of victim if Banky goes off on you which you damn well deserve.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Well, Rob's not trying to win anybody over, but the only part that would surprise me is that I'd think soccer would be more popular than our version of football, as it is for basically every country in the world. Guest treble charged Report post Posted January 16, 2003 This whole football thing is just... wow. Have you people NEVER heard of Canadian football?
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Canada hasn't really made any enemies so they have no need to really fight any wars. However, they basically won the war of 1812. Also, Canada was a refuge for fugitive slaves when our backwards young nation was still involved in slavery.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Bob, in the spirit of peace, which is a Canadian way of doing things, I hear. I edited my posts. To reduce angry replies. Although, I'm sure people will still make them. People being defined as you and Banky. Bob, don't be so uptight about Canada. It's not my problem that I don't know every single fact about your country. I'm sure not many Canadians know everything about this country. I'm sure if I had a show called "Talking with Canadians", I could get alot of soundbites in Ontario of people misunderstanding stuff about America. Bob, for the sake of your dignity, just lay off. I meant a few of my Canadian jabs in humor, which must be as valued as much as your money (another humorous joke, we love the lune) I never meant for the thread to be "Canada is so weird", you think that because you're blindly in love with it. I meant to ask a question about an interview that I got answered. Question answered. Thread over. There's no more use discussing this. I got my answer. Everything else is either bitching or just off-topic

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted January 16, 2003 I'm an American who is currently living in Canada (legally). I got pissed b/c cause a lot of people up here think of Americans as ignorant and I've gotten some flack for it and I really don't like seeing Americans basically go out and prove them correct. I got pissed b/c cause a lot of people up here think of Americans as ignorant and I've gotten some flack for it and I really don't like seeing Americans basically go out and prove them correct. I'm ignorant OF the popular sports in Canada other than hockey, about their public figures, and a few other things. Things of that nature are irrelevant to anything in my life, including college classes. In those, at more I'll be taught about their forms of government. So basically, I wouldn't pick up on a lot of those things you know already about Canada unless I lived there or stayed there for a bit. Ignorant in the "stupid" sense, no. Rob? A lot of times he comes across that way. However, we have walking stereotypes from Texas like Bradshaw, rednecks, and our dumbass president who make sure that Canadians think we are stupid. I mentioned Bradshaw--so WRESTLING CONTENT!
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2003 This whole football thing is just... wow. Have you people NEVER heard of Canadian football? I haven't seen too much of the CFL. I do know that they had Doug Flutie, a good Baltimore team in 1995, two Roughriders (until recently) and they have some weird 'one point' rouge dealie. And the CFL also got a new logo recently. Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2003 Ignorant in the "stupid" sense, no. Rob? A lot of times he comes across that way. Nah, actually I'm really smart. It's just that I chose to joke around on the forums and praise Al Wilson that a negative image could be put out. I could have phrased the question much better, I bet.
