LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2003 Am I the only one a little offended by some of Cena's raps? He was talking about Concentration Camps and stuff tonight.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2003 I hope your not talking about what he said about the Guerreros tonight. If you are how come you weren't offended when anybody else cracks on Eddie or Chavo. OR when the Guerrero's made fun of Cena's white boy attitude and accent. I'm hispanic , but you can't take that stuff seriously dude.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2003 It's like the "Eddie Mows My Lawns" signs that everyone's sick of. I'm not that pissed at it, but it does seem a little harsh for a wrestling program
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2003 I hear you and see where you're coming from. but, you just can't take it seriously. I do agree though that Eddie gets stereotyped ALOT!
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2003 Somebody did mention the gimmick of a 'white supremicist rapper' but that's so absurd (and an oxymoron) that it'd never be adopted. Right?
Guest HHHater Report post Posted January 17, 2003 His raps are funny. Lighten up.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted January 17, 2003 I agree, God, I can't stand when people get so damn politically correct.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted January 17, 2003 Yeah, although I love to see WWE have a Black DeathMetal Singer to combat that.
Guest MaskedDanger Report post Posted January 17, 2003 Yeah, 'cause God knows concentration camps are a blast. Don't give LaParka shit, everyone. I noticed the concentration camp stuff too and thought it was a little much. I'm not saying anyone should start a boycott or write letters or anything, I just thought it registered on the low end of the "Taste-o-meter." Not to mention anything about the "Mexican" stuff that the TEXAS BORN Guerreros get constantly (although the "selling oranges on the highway" line was kind of clever). My point is don't get up the guy's ass just because he doesn't appreciate thoughtless references to genocide. He's not the only one, trust me. (Oh, and just for the record, I don't think Cena's reference was was racist, just...tacky.)

(Oh, and just for the record, I don't think Cena's reference was was racist, just...tacky.) I didn't say I liked all of it, just that it is retarded to call it racist. Of course some of it's tacky! It's a TV show, and there is nothing wrong with lighthearted comments on a TV show. It happens all the time, it's nothing. Tacky, yes. Racist, hell no. Guest MaskedDanger Report post Posted January 17, 2003 Hey, my point was just trying to prevent people from giving LaParka a hard time over his opinions. Reactions to what he said seemed to be getting a little heated, and I thought that was unfair. I mean, he was kind of put off by Cena's off hand mention of concentration camps (that rascally scamp!) and that, combined with Cena's near constant Hispanic slams made him wonder if Cena is supposed to come off like a bigoted jerk. It's not such an illogical conclusion to draw. I mean, he didn't say he thought Cena was made of kryptonite, or something. But people, this is all about peace. C'mon, everyone, group hug. Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted January 17, 2003 I find the raps to be tighter than a 30-year old virgin on her wedding night. yo yo yo...

I do agree though that Eddie gets stereotyped ALOT! well, what do you expect from Vince "Mr. Racial Sensitivity" McMahon? he's the same man who brought us Tatanka (Buffalo), Saba Simba, Half-Black Piper, the Nation of Domination and Godzilla-movie-dubbed Kaientai. he's a rich white guy raised in the south and now lives in Conneticut, what do you expect? Guest Loss4Words Report post Posted January 17, 2003 If anyone is offended by Cena's rhymes, they have every right to feel that way. Personally, I'm not, but don't say other people aren't allowed to be offended by something that could be interpreted as being in poor tastes. Offensive or not, it's incredibly stupid when you consider that a study not long ago revealed that the Latino fans are the biggest demographic that tunes into UPN and more specifically Smackdown these days. Guest Special K Report post Posted January 17, 2003 If he was busting on Booker, I gaurantee you people would be pissed. As has been mentioned before though, the WWE has stereotyped everyone: shitkickin' rednecks, the NOD, and porrly lip-synched asians.
Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted January 17, 2003 I find Cena's rhymes funny, he's a comedic heel so his lyrics shouldn't be taken seriously. Cena's a parody of white rappers, he has the cred of Vanilla Ice, dresses like Marky Mark and tries to be controversial like Eminem. Is the WWE supposed to become PC all of a sudden?
