Yeah, they need to maybe make the King of the Ring for the IC belt or something.

Actually, I hope that the KOTR tourney is for a title shot and SS. That way, the tournament doesn't scream MIDCARDER.

Yeah, but then you can have another disater with an unover lug getting an automatic title shot. At least the IC belt would serve as a test period.

And if they load the tourny up with upper midcarders, and almost build it as a new belt, you might make people care about it again. Hell, make it to the IC champ is guaranteed a world title match at the next "big 5" PPV, so you can have a legitamate reason for someone to want to challeenge for the belt every PPV.

Unfortunately we know the Function of the IC title, and we know it is needed however for some Dopey reason by some guy who Wanted to see Necrophilla on TV. Its gone.

probably one of the same people who believe the best Cruiserweight in the WWE and a Lucha Libra Hall of Famer now shouldn't do what he does best and fight like David vs the Goliaths of the Giant Slugs.

Another disastor AS? What was this first disastor you speak of?

Near disaster is more like it. Brock heading into Summmerslam totally heatless with a guaranteed title shot could have been a mess. As is, he only got over two months after the win.

That's revisionist history. Brock has been over ever since he whooped up on Hogan.

As for this whole cruiserweight thing, yeah, they really need to build up the belt before giving it to Rey--it would be a significant depush for him right now to be Cruiserweight champ.

My ideal scenario would actually unfold like this: Have Matt decide he wants to be cruiserweight champ, but have the announcers keep saying he's "too big"--let them decide the weight limit is 200 or 205 pounds. Then have backstage vignettes, GTV style, where Matt keeps on finding tricks to come in at the proper weight. He goes over the cruiser faces (Kidman, Tajiri) via heavy cheating, and then does the feud with Moore--all the while Michael Cole is like ("But he's not even a cruiserweight!!!") Then finally have Rey in for the save on time after a vicious heel beatdown, probably on Moore. Have Rey-Mattitude for the title at Mania, with Rey going over.

Nah...I was at the Nassau Coliseum for SummerSlam, and I was among the 20,000 chanting, "Let's go, Lesnar!" He was over by the time that he got to SummerSlam.

Yeah, he was over that night. Not before. And then it all went to shit again until Unforgiven.

But whatever. The point I'm making is that world title shot for King of the Ring may not work out to well unless you have an already mega over guy who just needs the final boost.

um...Didn't Christian use that angle?

All they need to do is build up one strong heel who uses dirty unhanded ways to win matches. Then when Rey returns instant feud.

I agree that Matt Hardy would be great for this role. He's already got a strong heel persona going for him so it wouldn't be hard for the audience to accept him.

But they need to quickly get the belt off Kidman. Don't even give him a feud with Matt. Have Matt challenge him to a match and then have Matt beat him CLEAN and "injure" him.

Did he? I must not have been watching then. Kind of strange though, as I figure he's about the same weight as Kidman (no matter what he's listed as).

No-selling my post, huh? Like I said, Brock got over from beating Hogan. He got significant heat on SmackDown! after that, before ever facing Rock. And he was still over, even after being made to look ridiculous by Taker. I fail to see the point in denying any of this.

And that was due to the Rock-hating crowd, according to an Observer columnist who was also at the Nassau Coliseum and wrote that there were anti-Rock chants half an hour before the show even started.

Even if that were true (which I doubt), it wasn't the case back in August.

They should give Rey the cruiser belt, but FIRST they should book around Nunzio and Knoble. Those 3 could be pretty damn over, and there's lots of ways the plot could go. Kidman is NOT the guy to have the belt on now because he is totally boring. I'd say put it back on Knoble, turn him face when Nunzio and Nidia turn on him (dumping someone and dating their cousin? COME ON!!!!) Then have Knoble win it back, and start Fueding with Matt Hardy. Hopefully Knoble can stand on his own without Nidia. Then Matt can win it and then you have him either drop it to Shannon Moore or you have him fued with Rey.

Overall, I would say that the faces in the CW division should be Funaki, Rey, Knoble (maybe), and Moore. The heels should be Nunzio, Tajiri, Matt, and a debuting Christopher Daniels

It doesn't bother me much, but whenever someone says that, someone else goes 'FORGET ABOUT DANIELS HE DOESN'T WANT TO WORK IN WWE AND THEY AREN'T INTERESTED' Just saying.

Outside of Rey, the most over cruiserweight right is Chavo. It's a little late for a dramatic chase (if you're wanting Rey to win it at WM) but they could still put the belt on Chavo at the next SD taping, having Rey go after it from there... losing at No Way Out due to Eddie's interference, until he finally goes over at WM.
