Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 And this game is really fast pace. Shaq got the tip off. but blocks the shot and made a nice lay up! Then Kobe made 2 threes, and now shaq just made a dunk. Just give the ball to Shaq and Yao, As this is the only reason why people are watching this game anyway.
Guest NoCalMike Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I am at work, fill me in on the first half. I believe it is either halftime or early 3rd quarter right now....Yao got to 6 fast it seems and then died.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Whoa... Yao already has a commercial under his belt(it's an Apple Powerbook commercial with the midget from Austin Powers). As for the game itself, it's pretty fast-paced and the main reason for Ming's drop-off after the first quarter is that he jammed his index finger and it's reportedly giving him a couple of problems.
Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Houston is still in the lead, 73-69. Yao is out of the game. And Kobe just got fouled. Edit: Kobe and Lakers Just lied the BADONKDADONKDONK ON HOUSTON AND CAME BACK! But all steve has to do is just hit a three. AND HE DID! Now it's a tie game.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Overtime baby! Great game. Ming is matching up just fine with Shaq.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Yao just flushed a potential game winner with 10.2 left on the clock! Damn, this game rocks.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 This game has me so excited that I'm actually sitting here, watching the Live Scores at NBA.com trying to see whats going on.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 And Houston wins, people! The crowd damn near lost their minds when it was over.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Good God I loved this game. Yao managed to hold his own with Shaq (although yeah, no one stops him) with 10 10 and 6 blocks but man oh man Francis looked like he wanted to just carry everyone to the finish line. Excellent game, and it looks like it's going to be quite the rivalry for a while. Man looking at the Western Conference the playoffs are going to be brutal. Whomever makes the playoffs out of teams like Houston, LA, San Antonio, Utah, Sacto, Dallas, Minnesota, Phoenix, and Portland are all going to make some noise.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I wish I saw it. And even though it looks like Shaq got the best of Yao, I'm so glad LA lost.
Astro101 Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I'm from Houston and this game has been hyped down here like the rest of the country. Man oh man, it was sooooo beautiful. I'm glad the game lived up to the expectations and more.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I was getting sick of the attention that the Yao/Shaq matchup was getting. Steve Francis was having the game of his life, but they chose to yak about the centers.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Of course they'll yak about the centers, since they're the draws. People weren't watching for Steve Francis, they were watching for the Hosses. I don't really mind, in that the Hosses in the NBA are at least over.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 I didn't care about the centers because Steve Francis was the one doing all of the fabulous shit. I was pissed off when they didn't show one of his crossovers, but they showed all of the Yao/Shaq stuff before a commercial. The move that he did was beautiful. Also, am I the only one who laughed his ass off when Yao blocked Shaq but then turned around to get dunked on by Horry?
