Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 18, 2003 Yeah I especially liked it when Dwayne Johnson was booed. And when Steve Williams didn't show up...man that was terrible. And I really did not need to see Paul Levesque's ass. But at least Glenn Jacobs shut up those punks Chris Irvine and Jay Reso. They were all in character.....throughout the entire show. I'm pretty sure in real life Christian doesn't run around yelling about how he did it all himself and being an obnoxious jerk. Yeah he was so out of character. Guest Human Fly Report post Posted January 18, 2003 I'm still dissapointed that Jim Hellwig didn't show. With a live mic it could've been interesting what he would've said about Terry Bollea. Either that or it would've been the best rambling interview this side of Sid Eudy. Another person I wanted to show up for potential shoot value was Wayne Ferris. But, alas it wasn't to be. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted January 18, 2003 Why did they have all the dead wrestlers names kayfabed?
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 18, 2003 I dunno. I guess even in death they are still in character. Dude you know what would've been better! Is if Michael Hickenbottom and Sean Waltman made out! Yeah because we all know they are obviously dating. I mean just look at them. *ok i retract that last one, i won't dispute the fact that HBK and X-Pac are flaming homos*
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2003 Dude! That'd like so TOTALLY real the known world! Like, OMG! You just like KNOW I'd just DIE if Seanny and Shawnny kissed! Then Jay could join in! Then Rob! It'd b like soooo awesome! *shudder* I swear to slashy goodness that was a one-time thing.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 18, 2003 What in the fuck does slashy goodness mean!?!?!? And you still haven't explained why you called him Jay Reso. You said he was out of character but he was obviously in character. I will accept AS's reason of trying to sound smart.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2003 Slashy goodness? Ummm...am I supposed to know? I just say it instead of saying "I swear to god". Why did I call him Jay? Honestly, I can't think of a reason. I guess it was the clothes and the glasses...it was just so different from what we usually see him in. *shrugs* But, of course, that doesn't make sense. So, yeah, just accept AS's explanation.
Guest the saiyan prince Report post Posted January 18, 2003 I wonder how many things they'll blame instead of blaming who was really at fault. Please tell me you are referring to Vince McMahon. He is the ONLY one to blame for the shittiness of this show. i agree dangerous a alot of people can contribute to a shitty show for one vince ,steph, shane and the creative have come up with such gems as taker and kane shooting lightning bolts at each other so not one man does a shitty show make
Guest Mole Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Would YOU be proud of the show?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Ummm...no. The reason I called him by his real name is because he wasn't really in character. So the man's real life persona involves him taking credit for everything and calling himself Christian? Damn, he must be fun at parties.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 19, 2003 "Slashy goodness? Ummm...am I supposed to know?" You are the one that says it all the time. You should know what you're saying. Otherwise you're Scott Steiner....just rambling random things that could or could not be an insult to you. And molestomp......I wouldn't be proud of that and I hope to god nobody is. That DEFINETLY is some slashy goodness right there. Hell, everything Matt and Shanny do just screams slash. Edit: Sorry pinjockey....didn't know it'd be offensive. Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Hell it was a waste of time. They should have just made it a Raw one year annaversey because except of Shawn Michaels there was NO one there other than the current roster. Teasing names from the past up to this point and then no one showing up. Its like having the Gimmick Battle royal with Current roster wrestlers dressed in masks of old wrestlers. You say it like it's a bad thing. But seriously though... In terms of that pic, 'slashy goodness' means that it could be insperational for a fanfic.

Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 19, 2003 How can they be dissapointed in something they obviously put so little effort into? Yeah, if it was something they didn't just throw together at the last minute their bitch would carry more weight. They didn't even take time to get anyone to show up...even people who allegedly commited. Plus a week before they show they extended it by an hour...doing that out of the blue just seems to me that they didn't have anything well planned
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 19, 2003 They screwed up on so many levels. I knew Austin wouldn't really appear on the show, but they could have gotten Bret Hart and kept the show more tasteful at the same time. They should have not included the atrocious RAW is Owen show in the top moments, and instead given Owen the RWotD award, and given Bret the oppertunity to accept it on his behalf and have a speech. As much as I don't like Bret Hart, that would have rocked the house down, drawn a good rating, and bury the hatchet all at once. They didn't bother to do anything than say "See how much better the show is now that Stephanie is writing than it ever was at any point in it's past?" Fuck em.
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Nah. Do the double whammy and give Owen/Bulldog RMOTD and have Bret accept it actually via live sattelite and fly in the Rock.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Sorry, but I'd hate to see what would happen if the Rock was there live. Heh. Rock is good at improv promos, but I doubt he'd be able to properly execute a turn out of nowhere like that without either himself or Vince being disappointed afterwards. Better to think up a good turn instead of "Uh... Screw you too!" People seem to forget that Bret is capable of driving now, and certainly able to walk on an airplane and fly. If they were going to pay him, he ought to be there (of course, same logic goes to Rocky, but I think they actually averted pure disaster by not bringing him there live.) Of course, if he opts to do it for no pay so as not to appear hypocritical, he has every right to talk from home.
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Considering the WWE was 'happy' with total insulting tripe like the HHH/Taker KOTR '02 main event, for them to not be happy with something shows just how bad Raw X was.
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted January 19, 2003 They should have not included the atrocious RAW is Owen show in the top moments, and instead given Owen the RWotD award, and given Bret the oppertunity to accept it on his behalf and have a speech. They didn't bother to do anything than say "See how much better the show is now that Stephanie is writing than it ever was at any point in it's past?" Fuck em. Actually Owen shouldn't have been mentioned, period. But that's beating a dead horse. Bret wouldn't come out to take that award because he knows it means jack shit when compared to the life and times spent with and remembering Owen. Would it have rocked the house? You bet. So would Hulk Hogan. Would it have done a good rating? No. Reason being they never advertised Bret coming there. If you were to do the Russo-esque thing and swerve everyone by having him come out there as a surprise, then you ruin the entire reason for him being there. Stars have to be announced to make an impact in ratings. If only 15 people are watching and a shock guest comes on, only those 15 people are gonna get to see him the first time. If you annouce someone is going to be here at such and such show, then those 15 people watching have time to spread the word that so and so is going to be on such and such at this time. If that person is a draw and worth seeing (which I think Bret is) then you get your big rating. Seeing as they advertised no stars being there and only did their bait and switch tactic, you see why the rating tanked. Oh and by the way, I don't think Bret is going to bury the hatchet with Vince and Co. for the negligent way Owen died just because they give him a plastic trophy that means exactly zero when you know that WWE only cares to remember how THEY remembered Owen. (rolling out the Raw is Owen footage as a proud moment, whatever)
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Well, it sound like they're close to doing itnow.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Wow. That sounded so bitter I feel like I was reading one of Bret's earlier columns. I don't know. Two years ago, I would have agreed with you on every point. But I think these days it becomes more and more a matter of just when they pull a deal out with Bret, not if. The tag team of age & desperation seem to be making Vince consider whether it's worth it to have all these grudges, and Bret's WCW doesn't provide much in the way of closure. Again, I don't like the guy, but it is terribly exciting to see any angle where he could possibly come back (a big show is scheduled in Montreal, they start using him heavily in advertisements, whatever) and start thinking "OMG IS THIS IT? IS THIS IT!!?" Even if I'm totally wrong and "it" never occurs, it's still exciting to take the wait & see approach, if only because the dirt sheets can't get a yes or no out of anybody on anything anymore. Guest Brian Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Just to have them mend the fences like they're working on right now is fine. Bret deserves to have his legacy embraced by the WWE and linked with Vince every bit as much as Hogan and Vince are linked.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Yeah Bret and Vince are working to have a better relationship now. Hell Vince finally let him have his footage and photos with no strings attached. But Bret said he doesn't want to do an angle and I think that's all Vince would want him for. Guest Brian Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Like I'm saying, the classy thing would be to give Owen and Bulldog some form of the Raw Match of the Decade Award (either the Euro finals or tag) and have Bret accept it on their behalf. No angles, no nothing. He even doesn't have to actually appear at the awards show; thus he's not really abandoning his position and not betraying people's feeling's. He's doing it because Owen and Smith deserve it. Then, next week on Confidential you do a tribute to Bret and show the entire match (fuck the commercials).
