Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Fricking IWA Mid-South. They advertised Nate Webb vs. CM Punk, which would have been awesome, but they just HAD to cancel it. They could have redeemed themselves by announcing Hero/Lynn for the 300th show, but, NO, they announced Hero vs. some rookie, and Lynn still with no opponent. At least the 300th show will still be off-the-charts.
Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted January 19, 2003 i've never seen any mid-south before, thinking about trying to get hold of some tapes. nate webb was on the recent wwa tour, curtain jerking against shark boy, and looked pretty sweet. other than that, c.m. punk & ian rotten are the only guys i've seen wrestle. anyone got any tips on a good introductory show to look for? Chunk 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 How many tapes is that? ChUnK!
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted January 19, 2003 2 tapes. Included is the US Indy MOTY, the funniest deathmatch ever, and BJ Whitmer's breakout performances, and Night 2 is, without a doubt, the Card Of 2002.
Chunk 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Oh really, sounds sweet. For some reason I thought it was a mammoth show over 3 or tapes. Cheers, ChUnK!
Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Both tapes are a little over 4 hours, so it's still pretty mammoth.
Chunk 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Right, that must have been where I got the idea from, about it being more than two tapes. Before I go searching on the net, do you have a match listing? ChUnK!
Guest ChaosTheory Report post Posted January 19, 2003 copied from smartmarkvideo: 1. Colt Cabana vs "Kamikaze" Ken Anderson (1st Round) 2. "Sick" Nick Mondo vs "Spyder" Nate Webb (1st Round) 3. Ace Steel vs Super Dragon 4. Matt Murphy vs BJ Whitmer 5. Jimmy Rave vs Tarek the Great 6. Matt Stryker vs Chris Hero 7. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs AJ Styles 8. CM Punk vs M-Dogg 20 (1st 9. Necro Butcher vs Corporal Robinson - Fans Bring the Weapons Drunken Death Match (this was a weapons match but with these stipulations...both wrestlers must start by doing 3 shots of tequila...then every 2 minutes the match was stopped and they had to do another shot...they basically drank an entire bottle of tequila during the match...match was very bloody and very hard hitting) 10. "Sick" Nick Mondo vs Colt Cabana (2nd Round) 11. Ace Steel vs BJ Whitmer (2nd Round) 12. Chris Hero vs Jimmy Rave (2nd Round) 13. Christopher Daniels vs CM Punk (2nd Round) 14. Danny Daniels vs Tarek the Great 15. AJ Styles vs Super Dragon vs Matt Stryker vs M-Dogg 20 16. Colt Cabana vs BJ Whitmer (semi-finals) 17. Chris Hero vs CM Punk (semi-finals) 18. Hailey vs Lacey vs Rain - Ladies Match - Special Referee: Joel Gertner 19. Ian Rotten vs Josh Prohibition 20. CM Punk vs BJ Whitmer (finals) 21. Necro Butcher vs Rollin Hard vs 2 Tuff Tony vs "Spyder" Nate Webb vs Corporal Robinson vs Bull Pain - Gauntlet Death Match (2 men start and every 2 minutes another man entered...wild and crazy match with tons of weapons used) Just curious for anyone who might know...is there commentary on these tapes and if so who does it? Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted January 20, 2003 Commentary is done by a revolving door of people. Starts with Dave Prazak & Jim Fannin, Ian Rotten replaces Fannin, then halfway through, Colt Cabana replaces Prazak, and then Prazak comes back at the end. Second night, Ian, Ace Steel, and Prazak do most of the commentary, with Joel Gertner coming in for the deathmatch w/ Prazak, and Jim Fannin coming in for Punk/Hero w/ Prazak. Dave Prazak is an amazing commentator, everyone else sucks (Ian would be really good if he talked clearer and didn't make so many bad inside jokes).
Chunk 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2003 wow, that sounds like an awesome show. Does anyone have ratings for the matches. Also, was it actually tequila in the match, or just water? You would have to be pretty stupid and irresponsible to drink whilst wrestling? ChUnK!
