Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Apologies if this thread has been done. Epert and Roeper had their worst movies of the year special on tonight. What are your choices. I'll let the movie fans takeover. has I only saw 2 movies in 2002.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted January 19, 2003 My picks: EXtreme Ops Half Past Dead Oh and *thank God* Spider-Man was a good movie where the only real fault was the FX. Because if it sucked in the least it would be here on general principle.

Extreme Ops just looked like a movie that was 2 years behind by means of catching up on a snowboarding trend. And Half Past Dead is Stevie's way to get a movie to actually play on a big screen...add a popular rapper.
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted January 19, 2003 BALLISTIC ....SUCKED HARD... I had to go watch this mindnumbing piece of shit....it is so bad that MST3K should have done it... the plot is so stupid and pointless that I didn't think it had a plot until the end of the movie...and what plot I saw wasn't exactly promising for anything... Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I didn't see that many, but my mom is into those sappy romances that make a HHH promo beautiful in comparison. Guest Rob Van Dam Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I think this came out in 2002 (maybe 2001) The Majestic, I hated it. I also hated the Star Trek movie last time my friend talks me into going to see a star trek movie

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Of the movies I saw, Blade II. I wouldn't be surprised of Extreme Ops or Half Past Dead were worse, though. Oh come on! Blade II was a great little action flick. It had good CGI, it had horror elements, it had sword-fu, it had everything. It was flawed, yes. But no way is it the worst film of 2002. Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2003 [Cyrus]RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROLLERBALLLL!!!!![/Cyrus] There's two good things about that movie... 1)Heyman on commentary 2)Shane-O'Mac. Also, was "See Spot Run" or whatever it's called, a '02 flick? If it was, then it's definately the worst movie.

I said of the movies I've seen. 2. It was terrible. The action scenes were dull, the villain was a total wuss who they played for sympathy, they turned Blade from a badass into a smartass, and some parts were just so incredibly mind-numbingly impossibly fantastically STUPID, even for a simple action flick (fighting for five minutes with those guys, then having them say "No wait! We're just here to give you a message!").

I'll grant you that the Reaper was dull, moreso when compared to Frost. Blade had a few moments of humor, but I sensed no real shift. He was still ruthlessly effective at the eliminating vamps. 3. If you think about the Blood Pack/Blade battle it actually makes sense. They were delivering a message to their worst enemey, they were allowed into the security system by the mole, Whistler attacked them, a fight ensued. If you know anyone in the milatary like I do, you'll know that they can let their egos get the best of them and suckered into a fight they really don't want. The worst thing about it was that it was cliched.

Panic Room Spider-Man XXX Adaptation The Two Towers My Big Fat Greek Wedding Minority Report The Bourne Identity Signs The Ring The Powerpuff Girls Movie Ice Age S1m0ne Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Catch Me If You Can Die Another Day Men In Black II Resident Evil Star Wars: Episode II Blade II And I still don't see how that makes sense - they fight for five minutes, then one guy says "Wait! We're not here to kill you!" so I think they remember their objective, and it wasn't just them being pissed at Blade or letting their ego's get in the way (since they could've killed him, and then they'd be screwed). Couldn't they have said this... sooner?

Guest Lethargic Report post Posted January 19, 2003 I vote for Blade 2 as well. There were other movies that were probably worse but I didn't expect them to be good. I expected Blade 2 to be a little good and I loved the original, instead it was total shit from start to finish. Horrible FX, lame ass story and no villain for Blade to play off of. It was lame and pointless.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 19, 2003 Of the, err...Two movies I saw this year, (Actually, I've seen more, but just a shitload of 01 tapes) Men in Black 2 was the worst on general principle. What a disappointment.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted January 19, 2003 MIB2 could never be good. What a waste of time. Well, you all know I didn't like spider-man, but xXx is the worst film I've seen in years. * for RAMMSTEIN, 1/2* for the avalanche sequence, minus ********** for everything in between. Horrible. Guest raptor Report post Posted January 20, 2003 I liked xXx and Blade II, as popcorn movies. They didn't really leave me with anything, but I thought it was all in good fun and worth seeing once. From the movies I've seen, I'd have to give the award to MIIB. It just wasn't very funny, and reeked of "doing it for the money." To be fair, I only saw it because it was a double feature w/ Spider-Man.

Guest starvenger Report post Posted January 21, 2003 Did Super Troopers come out this year? And if so, does it count if you watched it on DVD? Because this is one of the worst pieces of shite that I've ever seen. Other bad stuff: - Van Wilder (again, a DVD rental, and again, I don't know when it came out) - MIB 2 - Star Wars Ep2 - Die Another Day - The Sum of All Fears - Star Trek: Nemesis (worst even-numbered Trek film EVER) To be honest, if it weren't for The Two Towers and thumbs-in-the-middle films like Goldmember and Blade II (which criminally misused Donnie Yen), it was a bad year for sequels. We're just here to give you a message!"). Yeah, that was extremely stupid. Guillermo del Toro does make fun of this part of Goyer's script on his DVD commentary, and he points out how little sense it makes. I think he said that he tried to play it like the two vampires were showing off their swordfighting skills in that scene, as opposed to them trying to actually kill Blade. Whatever. That explanation works for me. I wouldn't get that worked up over shitty action movie writing...it's practically a convention of the genre these days. They also overdid the CGI, and there were some terrible instances of it during the fight scenes (there's a part in the swordfighting scene where Blade jumps around like a rubber band, and it looks horrible). Other than that, I thought Blade II was OK. Aren't you the same guy that liked The Mummy Returns? That movie was much, much worse than Blade II.

Then why wasn't it a convention with the first Blade movie? There wasn't anything completely stupid in that one and it's an action movie. And come on, this is the guy that wrote Dark F'n City. We know he has the ability to write better than this crap.

Personally, I just thought that Goyer used comic book team-up rule #1: Participants in a team-up MUST fight before joining forces...
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted January 22, 2003 4.Brotherhood of the Wolf (2/10) Haha. That was in my top 5 for BEST movies of 2002. Anyway, the worst films I saw in the theatre last year were: Ballistic Men in Black II Mr. Deeds Queen of the Damned The films I had high expectations for, and ended up being disappointed with were: Signs The Two Towers I really wanted to like 'em both, but found them to be weak and disappointing. Oh well.
