Guest Anglesault Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 This is getting out of hand. Everyone was getting excited about this Angle/Brock feud. It would be Brock finally overcoming Team Angle and beating Angle and Heyman once and for all. The idea is to make Brock look SOMEWHAT vulnerable. But they are having Brock BLAZE through every obstacle in his path. He humiliates Big Show, destroys Angle, kills everyone of Heyman's minor Henchmen, ruins all of Heyman's plans. It just goes on and on and on. And they haven't even made Team Angle to be a thorn in his side yet. Tonight was the perfect opportunity to make Brock look vulnerable. Angle could have cost him the match against Big Show. Or even the Rumble. But no, they have him run through both. What kind of ass backwards storyline is this? Are we expected to have any question as to who wins at Mania?

They don't feel they have the time to develop things so the hole just gets dug deeper. They fucked up Brock/Angle long before this though. When Big Show pinned Brock and Angle was returned heel again and given another transition reign...it was over

God forbid they run a storyline into it instead. How is someone getting a RAW title shot? They should have done this all differently...but HHH probably couldn't pick who he wanted to job to him at Mania yet. Maybe he's waiting for Rock or Austin to get back and pick them.

The storyline up to the Rumble is that Heyman won't let him have a title shot unless he won the Rumble. How is he supposed to get a title shot if he doesn't win the Rumble (or beat Big Show)? Go up to Heyman and say.. "Gee Paul, you were right..I couldn't beat Big Show/win the Rumble..would you please reconsider that no title match thing and let me wrestle Angle at Wrestlemania..pretty please?"

Having him run out late and take all the suspense away from the one bright spot at Mania is bad. So instead we get what? 2 months of Paul trying to screw Brock out of it?

Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 If Brock didn't win the Rumble then Steph would have called an audible and gave Brock a stipulation match at No Way Out where if he beats (team angle, big show, albert, or Chris Benoit) he gets a title shot. Which is a TOTAL Austin-esque storyline.. They did the right thing by having Brock win. There are so many possibilities leading up to the WM match - obviously Anglesault is not seeing them.

What is the story now? "How long can Angle avoid the inevitable?" Thay haven't even made Brock look vulnerable. Have Brock lose the Rumble, at No way Out, have Angle beat brock in the 8 man tag, then Team Angle beat's the ever loving shit out of Brock, Angle grabs a mic and gives Brock a match because he knows he can beat him. There you go. Better then brock getting the upper hand EVERY WEEK.

Angle and Big Show together can't take him. Absolutely zero of Heyman's plans have worker. And THAT makes an exciting and suspenseful storyline? What am I missing?

If it was Angle vs. a mere mortal, there would be suspense and intrigue as to who might win the final battle. As is, it's an Unstoppable monster vs. a Guy who can more than hold his own against anyone BUT said monster. That's just stupid. You are missing the time they have between Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania Ahh. So Brock is suddenly going to lose his superpowers on Thursday? Will Angle bring out Kryptonite? They can have Benjamin tell Angle Brocks weaknesses and have Angle exploit them. HE HAS NONE. The man has been booked as superman, being able to blaze through everyone and everything (Including Angle himself) without breaking a sweat.

Who the hell is left to trip up Brock? Big Show was a non threat. Every single time Heyman gets a plan, it's foiled by brock. And HE NEEDS a plan, because we know what happens when Brock gets Angle even 1 on 2. Tonight was the night. They blew it.
