Promo: Tying up loose ends

Frost walks down the hall leaving Tom Flesher and Danny Williams alone to their own devices. While he passes through an intersection, Mak Francis rounds the corner, making a quick right turn and goes back the way Frost came. As he walks through the door, Tom Flesher is seen with a finger raised, chuckling. Danny’s eyes immediately pick up someone entering the room, causing Flesher to stop laughing. Danny begins to rise, but Tom places a hand on his shoulder. Flesher turns, sees Mak and glares, but his eye balling is completely missed by Francis, as he’s staring right back at Williams.

“The prodigal son returns.” begins Flesher, after a cough clearly in sarcasm. “To what do I owe the honor of this rare appearance Mak?”

“I’m here to talk with HIM,” emphasizes Francis not even looking at his former mentor, “and what he did last week.”

“He brings me here.”

“So this isn’t about our match...” mumbles Tom a little miffed that he isn’t the center of attention after beating Mak once again. “Well Danny is a rather indiscreet person when trying to get his points across, aren’t ya Danny?”

The seated Deathwish only nods his head and continues sizing up Francis. Mak makes a mental note of the heavily taped ankle, which reminds him that he needs to watch some recent tape on Williams. The guys already been scouting him and Mak hasn’t seen jack shit of him since their last encounter. Somehow, he needs to know more about the current Danny Williams than just the tape, if he’s going to pay him back for his transgressions. Now the question is who would know him the best… “I didn’t appreciate the stalking session at ringside, by the way-”

Flesher butts in, ready to rail off one of his trademark wise cracks. “Well that may be but-”

But…

“Yo, you knew about Ced’s string of concussions, you helped start it after all.” interject Francis, causing Flesher’s face to skew. “How could you let this jackass do that?”

Tom looks at Mak with a slight flash of indignation, before cracking his neck and motioning with his hands for him to simmer down. “Well I think you should calm down Mak. I’m nobody’s mother… you should know that more than most. I’m not here to-” answers the ‘Superior one’ as Mak continues to basically ignore him, EVEN while asking him questions, before interrupting again.

“And that’s why,” replies Francis, “even… if you’re… better than me,” says Francis pausing as if he may have just come to the realization that Tom, even if it hurts his pride… Tom Flesher just may not be lying when coined himself the ‘Superior One’, at least in Mak’s case. And the man he looked up to, the guy he thought had his best interests at heart, just didn’t care. “Even if I looked up to you, I don’t think I can ever truly respect you.” Mak’s troubled expression fades into a smile and his shoulders seem to lose an unseen weight causing him to stand to his full height.

“Look yo, if you can’t control HIM,” says Mak quietly, “then I’ll have to do it for you.”

Flesher blinks and Williams… he quite frankly, looks amused at the prospect. Mak’s tone stays quiet, calm, and cool as he seems to be very serious. All traces of his cocky persona, thrown out the window, as he gazes with an unblinking deathwish. “Why’d did you sneak Ced from behind, to scared to attack him face to face? Why even attack him at all? Yo, are you afraid to actually go against me?”

Tom just rolls his eyes and Williams once again rises to his feet, this time shrugging off Flesher’s hand. “Kid, I thought you already got the message.” responds Williams for the first time. “This is why I really, REALLY, don’t like you! It just irritates me that you think I’m afraid of some green little boy, how old are you son, sixteen, seventeen? What do you weigh, two hundred pounds soaking wet?” Danny walks over to Mak and gets in his face. “With his chest puffed out, shades hiding the fear in his eyes, while trying to talk down to a real man!”

“I can’t see why I should have a problem talking down to you.” And the trademark smirk has returned in full forced. “Danny-boy you want a chance to see just how green I am?” questions Mak looking down at Williams shorter frame. “Find the production crew and watch the tape! 12/10/02… it’s a Smarkdown!”

“That’s how green I am.”

And with that Francis turns on his heels and leaves.

“I really want to hurt that kid Tom!”

Flesher dismisses that comment with a wave. “Please, Mak’s always been a non-factor. I’m so in his head right now that he can’t beat anyone above the talent pool of Craven and Xero.” says Flesher stroking his chin, but that look in Mak’s eyes… he looked like he… he finally understood someone, or maybe something? “You’ll get him in the six man though and then you can end his career if you want… just as long as we get the win.”

Good promo, though I'm only commenting in order to have the "Last Post" on all three boards. Rawk.

This plays nicely off what I did by using the same elements. Mak also has a nice grasp of the characters and I like he's in a mental chess game with Flesher, but a physical one with Danny.

I like he's in a mental chess game with Flesher, but a physical one with Danny.

I'd like to note that he's also engaging with a certain Taylor Nicholas Thompson in a game of Mental CHECKERS.

Silent is astute.

TNT is a tit.

Mak is fully capable of writing a promo to advance a storyline that I forgot no one but me, Danny and Mak knew about.

That be slick. There are an awful lots of storylines coalescing at once here, and it'll be interesting to see how everyone handles 'em in the big ol' battle royale.

I, for one, really want to see Mak kick Danny's ass. And that means both of them are doing a fine job.
