Guest Mattdotcom Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 This comes from a stupid sounding fan's live Rumble report, so don't take it as fact until it's confirmed... Sent in by Douglas Just a few quick notes from someone that was there live, knockin' back sparkling water and a beer. Steiner got mad props when he came out, but after the No Contest, he put HHH in the Steiner Recliner and received a LOT of heat for it. Chris Benoit received a semi-standing ovation after his match with Kurt Angle. The Dudleyz/Regal-Storm match was interfered by Sean Morley, who also got clonked by either a fist or the brass knuckles. Was too far away to accurately see. The Show/Lesnar match was actually a good match. Lesnar got a ton of "Holy Shit" chants when he belly to belly suplexed Show twice in a row. Royal Rumble: Brock came across as VERY strong. He took out Team Angle at the same time, "throwing" them over the top rope. He then F5'd Matt Hardy over the top rope, eliminating Matt Hardy. Hardy lands right on Team Angle. Brock also F5'd someone over the top rope down to the floor. It may have been Bautista or Albert. Funny part: Kane and RVD had taken down one of the RR participants. RVD was going to run to the rope, Kane was going to lift him into a body press slam onto the fallen RR participant. Kane launched RVD out of the ring instead. Edge really blew a major spot when he and Mysterio were going for top rope drop kicks. Mysterio connected right on target, Edge was about a half second too late and looked like he tagged the targeted person in the head. Ouch! Bill DeMott took a VERY stiff Cane shot to his left arm from Tommy Dreamer. My best friend and I had the pleasure of riding down the elevator with Bill as we were leaving, and he was legitimately hurt. His left arm was in a sling and he was leaving with one of the trainers to the hospital to have it checked out. I really hope he's okay. Zetterberg is God Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 How is that possible? A rugged hoss who likes to bully people can't possibly get injured.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Man, if he's out for a month, he may even get pushed HARDER when he returns!
Zetterberg is God Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 How many return videos do you think he'll get? 10 or 11?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Hell, it's going to be just like HHH. They're going to show a black and white video of Bill Demott rubbing Icy-Hot on his arm while Creed's "My Sacrifice" plays in the background.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Confirmed by Meltzer, Bill DeMott also suffered an arm injury, but no word on if it was serious or not, from the cane shot by Tommy Dreamer in the Rumble. credit: wrestlingobserver.com
Guest HartFan86 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Chris Benoit received a semi-standing ovation after his match with Kurt Angle. LOL...this guy must of been to far away to see that every person in the building was standing and clapping.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 OMG meltser stealed form me!111 And to continue kicking a man while he's down, Big Bully Bill has not only had his arm injured by someone SMALLER than him (and we all know how he feels about people smaller than him), but is seen crying and buddying up to the kids on Tough Enough each week. Forgive me for sounding like HHH, but that is sorta contradictory to everything we see on SmackDown...well, in my case, I think it's funny, but in H's case, it's breaking the Carnival Rule. Heh, "Carnival" sorta sounds like "Cardinal".

LOL...this guy must of been to far away to see that every person in the building was standing and clapping. The shot they showed on camera showed that at least most of the lower bowl was doing it.

I was there live....everyone, except a few scattered people, were up and clapping. Most of the arena was chanting 'BENOIT' too.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 DeMott will return at Backlash in April to win the WWE title from Brock Lesnar, at a PPV nicknamed "Clash of the Hosses" in a bullrope match. Yeah.
