Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 What are some of the funniest death scenes in movies that weren't meant to be funny? Off the top of my head, I howled when the son in Gladiator was trampled by the Romans coming to kill Marcus' family. He bounces off the horse and screams... fantastic. Give me some more!!!
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 For all the idiots out there, this thread will have spoilers. When Meg Ryan got hit by the truck in City of Angels. Mostly because I had just seen Black Dog right before it and I half expected Patrick Swayze and Randy Travis to step out of the truck. "Damn it, Earl, we hit a woman. Meatloaf is gonna' be pissed."
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Old Yeller Then there was the last 5 minutes of Beware, Children At Play...when the townsfolks slaughtered the kids
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 you are indeed a heartless bastard Youth...
The Dames Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Final Destination....Bus Girl. Dames
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Well, I've made myself look like a sick bastard by saying Clockwork Orange had a happy ending, and it looks like I'm about to do it again. When Murphy died in Robocop. Everybody says that scene is so disturbing, but I can't stop laughing. The stuff Clarence says to him is hilarious. Also from Robocop, everything from where that dude crashes into the vat of acid to when he's split in half by the car, is comedy gold.
Guest Lethargic Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 My favorite death scene is still the last death in Blood Shack. The man's dying last words...."the...chooper....is....reeaaaallll."
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 you are indeed a heartless bastard Youth... Least I didn't say Bambi. If this wasn't a thread for funny unfunny deaths I would say Marvin from Pulp Fiction...I giggled my ass off on that one. "Oh man...I just shot Marvin in the face."
Guest Eagan469 Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 When George kills Lenny in the Malkovich version of "Of Mice And Men" We watched it in my 9th grade English class and I burst out laughing, to the dismay of my teacher. I was like "What? That was great!"
Conspiracy_Victim Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Samuel L. Jackson + Deep Blue Sea's supersharks = Hilarity
Guest Black Tiger Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 The Crow: When Draven kills Skank, ED: Not a good day to be a bad guy, huh Skank? Skank: I'm not Skank, that's Skank, Skank's dead. ED: Yeah, (Draven throws Skank out a 4th story window)
Guest starvenger Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 I laughed pretty hard at every death in "Fist of the North Star", no real reason why.
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 The death of the stalker in Misery. *Ding*
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Well, I've made myself look like a sick bastard by saying Clockwork Orange had a happy ending, and it looks like I'm about to do it again. I feel it had a happy ending, but the ending of the book was happier. I mean, come on! He bucked the mind-control bullshit! Kudos to Alex! When ED-209 or whatever the big-ass robot in Robocop was blew away the guy during its unveiling, I died laughing. "You have ten seconds to put down the weapon..." Also, I've found myself laughing my ass off at the guy in the Final Destination 2 previews. Everything gets so damn out of control, and then SPAGHETTI~! is his downfall!!!
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 I don't know if it's funny, but Shimi's death in AOTC was so badly acted that you could almost see the cartoon "X's" come over her eyes when she slumped forward. The final scene in Army of Darkness. Ash proves why he kicks so much ass as he disposes of a witch while qiupping and ends by kissing the dream girl.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 The final scene in Army of Darkness. Ash proves why he kicks so much ass as he disposes of a witch while qiupping and ends by kissing the dream girl. Wicthy: "You loved me before." Ash: "Honey, you got real ugly." Good shit
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Good shit indeed, but I'm sure it was supposed to be funny.
Guest Harry Hood Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Every single death in Troll 2 was hilarious.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Good shit indeed, but I'm sure it was supposed to be funny. Oh it was, but you HAVE to include at least one Evil Dead scene here.
Guest the 1inch punch Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Ditto on the Sam Jackson/Deep Blue Sea. Personally, the guy in Resident Evil who fights off an entire army of zombies and re-unites with the team, only to get shanked by the Licker three seconds later
Guest Ravenbomb Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 When Leatherface's brother got run over by that truck in TCM Ivan in Boondock Saints Joe Pesci in Goodfellas
Guest Prototype450 Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 The Bride of Chucky. The guy gets startled by Chucky and Tiff and he backs out....... .........into a freakin semi. "Heh heh, that works too."
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 My favorite death scene is still the last death in Blood Shack. The man's dying last words...."the...chooper....is....reeaaaallll." What the fuck is Blood Shack? Best. Name. Ever.!
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 What about that fat guy's death at the end of dead Alive? He gets kicked ten times in the balls and gets killed by Satan baby.
Guest Flyboy Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Final Destination....Bus Girl. That was MEANT to be funny. I'd have to go with Bambi.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Final Destination....Bus Girl. That was MEANT to be funny. I'd have to go with Bambi. SEE...now this guy is far more the bastard then I. Bambi's mom biting it is far wose the Old Yeller
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I laughed my ass off when the agent shots himself in the head in Ballistic... I hated that damn movie so much...but that was fucking funny...as is the MOST RETARDED ENDING SCENE DEATH IN HISTORY... she just pushes a FUCKING BUTTON~! I laughed at Starscream's death in the Transformers Movie, but then I just started to cry... WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO, STARSCREAM... I'm a repenting youth...
Guest treble charged Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 To me, the funniest death in Final Destination was Seann William Scott's head getting chopped off. Or, the one at the very end that you don't really see, but you know it's going to happen.
Guest SP-1 Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I have to agree with Bus Girl. But it's weird because I don't think it was meant to be funny. I don't know how I reacted when I actually saw it, but seeing it mentioned here it seems as if it's one of those double take things. "Oh shat. A bus just hit her. *laughs*" I think it might have freaked me out the first time, but my memory isn't so hot. I think I took it more seriously then, though, and didn't see the comedy. Thinking of it here, though, it has a bit of a comedic light on it.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I believe they were originally going to show her mangled remains in the street... in fact I'm sure of it. So that would seem to indicate they didn't intend for it to be funny.
