Shoot Interview feedback

Recommended Posts

Guest teke184

For those of you who don't want to send e-mails, you can feel free to ask questions or make comments here on each week's shoot.

While the Orndorff shoot is featured this week, don't feel limited to posting on it. Just make sure you identify which shoot you are talking about if you choose to discuss a different one.

I haven't kept up with them mainly because I haven't been interested in the people past Sytch and Hyatt but they own me. Everyone read them or I'll throw pebbles at your window.

Your Orndorff shoot interview left out one thing that I was looking for....I expected him to be asked about the Mike Sanders situation, where he pretty much fired him, only for Russo to hire him back within days and put him on TV. Then again, after reading the shoot, seems like Orndorff was down on Sanders for his lack of size.

The name Sanders never came up in the interview. He only plugged the hosses like Jindrak, O'Haire, Johnny the Bull, Palumbo, etc.

Orndorff really came across as a total shitbag in that recap. I've dug most of the shoot recaps I've read so far. It's subject matter where actually bothering to get the tape isn't so necessary, unless there's a classic match on there.

I've enjoyed all the reviews teke. They're one of my favourite articles at tsm

Tell that to an old-school fan who wrote me and bitched me out for my comments about Orndorff.

He felt that I was applying the my opinions about wrestling today to the style and beliefs of old-school workers, was disrespectful to people who'd never read what I have said, that I trash anyone who doesn't like today's wrestling, etc.

He can think what he wants but I believe he's totally missed the boat on the last one if he's ever heard what Jim Cornette, one of my favorite people in the business, thinks about the product today. The big difference between Cornette and Orndorff (the WWE's trainer vs. WCW's trainer) is that Cornette is tolerant of the current style even though he doesn't like it very much. I feel that it is reflected in the success of the OVW graduates vs. the Power Plant graduates in the business today.

I never truly realized just how full of shit Orndorff is when someone brings up the Vader fight today with him.

What Paul said in the video goes against anything that has ever been written and discussed about the situation in which Orndorff himself had admitted to a totally different story a couple months after the fight had happened.

Overall it was a fun read and your Shoot Reviews are one of the few things I read on the main page Teke.

Holy Crap. Bob and I agree. Seriously, I love the shoot reviews. This is like the only place that does them and it dose one every week, so thats even cooler.

The shoot reviews kick all kind of ass, it's tough to write anything these days that 8 million people aren't already doing and you nailed this one pretty well Teke. If I was the type to enjoy embarassing myself I might mention that I upload them to my PDA to read in class but I'm not...oh wait. Orndorff comes across like a complete jackoff in the interview, especially for a guy who always came across as EXTREMELY overrated in my opinion.

Orndorff was a reliable worker but he wasn't anything special to write home about.

Teke, you should do the Vader shoot (if you have it). He gives his side of the fight. He said that he basically let Orndorf hit him a few times and then laid him out and Meng broke it up. It was over Orndorf being a dickhead to Vader. Vader's shoot has some very good matches as well, but it was done in 98 so it's a little out dated.

BTW, I really like your work. The shoots are way too expensive for me to buy so it's nice to have a free way of finding out what various wrestlers have to say. Keep up the good work.

I would do Vader's shoot, but my copy is a little... unusual. Considering that I would want to break an 8-hour shoot down into two 4-hour halves, it would be a pain to do it because my copy has 6 hours on one tape and 2 hours on another. Same deal with Bam Bam Bigelow.

The Nova shoot will be up within the hour. Next week's will be the Million Dollar Man himself, Ted Dibiase, and the week after's shoot will be with Ken Shamrock unless I can dig up a better one.

Brandon, I'd be happy to help you with your fantasy football team when the time comes. It was hard watching Rich Gannon do so poorly in the Super Bowl: he was my first pick in the money league (we can keep 2 players, and I already had a RB and WR), and ended up as the #1 rated fantasy QB. He got me a few wins just by going loco on a few shoddy defenses. Anyway, my team faced the wrong opponent in the semifinal round, and I had to settle for fourth (I scored the 2nd most points that week, and happened to face the chap who scored the most... and it wasn't even close). My 2 keepers next year, as it stands now, will be Gannon and Shaun Alexander.

As for the recap, excellent, as always.

Sandman...

Don't feel ashamed... I actually made that one in the teaser for the article.

Dibiase's was great, Shamrocks was as good as it could have been given the interview.

Oh yeah, do Sid's if you have it. The copy I have is really bad quality and so is most of what I can make out of what he has to say.

I've got Sid's set aside along with Lance Storm's and a few others, which is a problem because I'm trying to pick stuff for each week based on the 10-12 I have set aside and whatever comes in the mail.

That's why I'm posting a poll in this folder to help me choose the shoots that I'll do after I post the Ricky Morton, Tony Atlas, and Rey Misterio shoots. (They will be posted on Feb. 16, Feb. 24, and March 3 respectively)
