Guest Mole Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I only caught the last half-hour because Buffy was on. It is only funny because of the comments Simon makes, he's just a mean guy, so it's funny. I bet this show is going to score pretty good with the ratings. What did you fellas think?
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I caught some of it. Simon's a funny dude, I must admit. But what was funnier was the losers who got all indignant and sad when he told them the truth.
Guest Mosh For Jesus Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 When that guy came down the stairs with the wizard costume and that fat guy said "Well hello Great one!". One of the best moments in television history. Just too funny. Also when the girl at the end sang that reaaally long song and the comments that Simon made were hilarious. The first two episodes of that show are just too funny.
Guest Flyboy Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 *ahem* Ryan Starr was screwed. *walks off*
Guest The Electrifyer Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Simon was hilarious. I loved that guy who did the Enrique Ilglasius song. That guy must have a serious mental problem, but I was laughing my ass off at him.
Guest starvenger Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I can't believe that some people were so bad and didn't realize it - it's like they were trying to become the American Cheeky Girls...
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I caught the last half hour...Buffy was on, you know. I think my favorite part is when they expose a bad singer that think's their great...I had SO much of that in my high school. Did the baby man get sympathy votes?
Guest Mole Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I'd go on to the show, sing terrible. Then, Simon would make fun of me. I'd tell him that I know that I am a bad singer, I just wanted to get on TV.
Guest starvenger Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Did the baby man get sympathy votes? That probably got him Paula Abdul's vote, but he was good enough to go to the next round regardless... ...oh and I guess you can tell that I'm not a big Buffy fan. Aside from 24, I really don't have any "regular" Tuesday shows...
Guest NoCalMike Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Since no one really deserves to be named "american idol" they should just do this show where everyone is humiliated, and then bring in the whole group as a whole and tell them they are all cut.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I want to go on there and do a bunch of death growls, just to see their reaction.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 That one guy looked like a cross between Gary Coleman and Cedric the Entertainer but I felt bad for him when he started bawling because he had no way to get home.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I guess I'm a bad judge of talent, because I thought the pimped out dude was ok, and the guty right after him I thought was lame, but all three of the judges thought he was aight. Even the irritable limey.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 That one guy looked like a cross between Gary Coleman and Cedric the Entertainer but I felt bad for him when he started bawling because he had no way to get home. But he was SO bad... I'm going to watch tonight, they showed a preview of them in Detroit and Simon tells some girl she's awful, and she goes into bitchy mode with "Oh. I beg to differ."
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I'm going to watch tonight, they showed a preview of them in Detroit and Simon tells some girl she's awful, and she goes into bitchy mode with "Oh. I beg to differ." That was just about the response they all gave last night. And that one poor guy had to go find someone worse than him, and he couldn't do it!!!

Like I said, I only caught the last half hour, so I didn't see everything.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Good god, I hate reality television. Hate it!
Zetterberg is God Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I don't think I can express the rage I feel when the most talentless singer in history gets told the hard truth and they still act like they should be bowed down to. I can only imagine what Canadian Idol is going to be like.

And Erica Ehm (one of the original Much babes) is a judge... That's something different. I actually saw a commercial on CTV for "Canadian Idol" and it said "coming soon."
Guest the pinjockey Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I feel bad for some of these people though because at least 50% of the bad ones most likely have their parents fawning all over them and telling them they are good so they don't hurt their feelings. So when they actually hear the truth after years of false praise it may be hard. Also, I don't know if anyone else heard on Howard Stern that as a test/stunt they sent Josey Scott from Saliva to the auditions and the judges told him that he would never have a career in the business after he has already sold about 8 million albums.

Damn...that'sa pretty funny actually. Did anyone else think they gave the Detroit boxer chick WAY too much tv time for someone that lost? Wow, your life sucks, so does everyone elses, shut up.

And Erica Ehm (one of the original Much babes) is a judge... That's something different. I actually saw a commercial on CTV for "Canadian Idol" and it said "coming soon." I see. I hope that Lee Aaron gets the "washed up female singer" spot then. And who will play the part of Simon - because there's no way that CTV can afford/will pony up the cash for him. Maybe Daniel Lanois?
Guest treble charged Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Yeah, that latest 'Popstars' has started on Global, while 'Canadian Idol' is starting up soon (not sure when, as I don't get CTV). The best part of these shows are the first few episodes, as I enjoy laughing at the all the awful auditions.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 The guy who killed the national anthem had me laughing my ass off. "Oh say does that star spangled, rockets red glare..." something like that, I just know he put in the rockets line a few times and got everything else out of order
Guest hardyz1 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 The twins and the guy with the outrageously fake sounding high voice were damn funny.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 The twins and the guy with the outrageously fake sounding high voice were damn funny. They were the best sore losers on the show, I laughed my ass off when they got defensive
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Anyone see Conan last night? Oh god. Oh god. Oh god that was funny. Triumph vs. Simon... Put that sucka on prime time and watch the ratings flow! That was quite possibly the greatest thing ever. Well, Triumph bringing a spock look-alike to flip the bird to star wars geeks waiting in line maybe was greater...
Guest the pinjockey Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Wait, triumph was on last night? Thank god for Comedy Central reruns.
Zetterberg is God Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 "Go back to England, bitch!" That was one of the funniest things on Conan(besides the Big Show's appearence) in a while.
