Guest bob_barron Report post Posted January 22, 2003 teke does a lot of shoot interviews at thesmartmarks. I would check out his reviews since he seems to know his stuff
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 22, 2003 GET Bill Watts Shoot Interview...good oldschool stuff, talks about running his own promtion and working for WCW, doesn't hold back on anything Justin Credible Shoot Interview...one of my favorites. Tells a TON of Clique stories that Shawn or X pac wouldn't go into. It's really good. Mikey Whipwreck Shoot Interview...yeah, I'm bias...great shoot. He was in ECW just about from the start, talks about how the company grew, early days going from a jobber to world champ. Good stories about riding with Cactus Jack (his idea for the ECW and KFC promotion is brilliant)...talks about his shitty time in WCW. New Jack Shoot Interview...this shoot it just too funny, that's all I can say really. You'll laugh your ass off. Tod Gordon Shoot Interview...as a die hard ECW fan I loved this one. AVOID On The Road With Tajiri & Super Crazy...sounds like a good idea...but it is soooo boring...and that prick Rob thinks he's a comedian and ruins the tape. Shane Douglas Shoot Interview...those dummies did the shoot at an indoor pool and the echo kills the tape. It's too hard to understand anything on it. MAYBE Taz Shoot Interview...good shoot...but it was done in 1998, so you don't get anything after that. Vader Shoot Interview...he talks real soft, I've had mine a couple years and I've tried to watch it twice, kept dozing off. Jimmy Hart Shoot Interview...not as good as you'd think it would be. He kisses Hogan's ass a lot and doesn't say bad things about anyone. GREAT SHOOTS YOU DIDN'T LIST Jim Cornette 2000...maybe the best shoot EVER! his rants on Russo and Bischoff alone are worth having this. Bobby The Brain...another classic shoot, great stories. Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted January 22, 2003 Another good one you didn't list is the Honkytonk Man one. Real good. The Vader shoot is really good too.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 22, 2003 Another good one you didn't list is the Honkytonk Man one. Real good. The Vader shoot is really good too. Honky's too iffy for me...he has such a high opinion of himself it's just too hard to take him serious.
Guest Andy Report post Posted January 23, 2003 I've already got Cornette, Heenan and Honky. Cheers for the thoughts. Andy
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted January 23, 2003 The Sean Waltman one is good too. He tells of an incident between DDP and Underseller which may explain why Undi buried DDP to Vince.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted January 23, 2003 The Sean Waltman one is good too. He tells of an incident between DDP and Underseller which may explain why Undi buried DDP to Vince. I didn't like that one. RF's big deal is to do a shoot with a guy right after he lost his WWE job, cause in theory that's when they're pissed. But the Waltman and Guerrero shoots weren't like that at all, they seemed too nervous about saying anything bad about Vince, cause WWE is really the only place to go now to make any serious money. Guest franchise632 Report post Posted January 23, 2003 My Picks: Abdullah The Butcher Shoot Interview Bam Bam Bigelow Shoot Interview Part 1 Bam Bam Bigelow Shoot Interview Part 2 Bill Watts Shoot Interview Jimmy Hart Shoot Interview Justin Credible Shoot Interview Mikey Whipwreck Shoot Interview Taz Shoot Interview Part 1 Taz Shoot Interview Part 2 Tod Gordon Shoot Interview Vader Shoot Interview Part 1 Vader Shoot Interview Part 2 As for VQ and the like, if you are getting RF masters, the only ones on master that i have seen are Taz,Vader, and Justin. They were all pretty good, the others I had copies of some probably 2nd or 3rd gen. Watts and Gordon were good copies so im sure they would be fine. Anything that is newer tends to have better picture and sound.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted January 23, 2003 GREAT SHOOTS YOU DIDN'T LIST Jim Cornette 2000...maybe the best shoot EVER! his rants on Russo and Bischoff alone are worth having this. Bobby The Brain...another classic shoot, great stories. LOL! Those are the only two I own and they're great. I used to have The Sensational Sherri shoot interview, but with all those goddamn birds chirping in the background, I could barely hear a word she's saying. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Bret's first shoot is pretty damn good too. RVD's aint too great but there is an AWESOME match from Japan on it. With RVD against I forget who.
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Both Bret's shoots are good. Very informative. I think that RVD match may be against Dan Kroffat.
Guest Andy Report post Posted January 24, 2003 I think that RVD match may be against Dan Kroffat. I saw a puro match between RVD and Kroffat (probably the same one) and it was awesome. Cheers, Andy
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Yah I believe it was Dan Kroffat. And that match was better than anything i've ever seen out of RVD not involving Eddie or Lynn.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2003 The Sean Waltman one is good too. He tells of an incident between DDP and Underseller which may explain why Undi buried DDP to Vince. What was the incident? Also, does Stevie Richards have a shoot interview? (Can't tell I'm a big Stevie mark...nope, not at all)
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted February 1, 2003 Sean told a story of a house show tag match, between DDP and Mike Awesome, and Underseller and Kane. Anyway, Undi makes the hot tag, and starts punching DDP. DDP does his wobble deal, like Terry Funk, and this seems to upset Undi. He punches a few more times, and DDP does his wobble-sell again. Undi looks at the curtain, where Sean and others are watching, and makes it known he is not happy. Undi then gives a real stiff punch, and finally DDP goes down. I think what pissed off Undi, and Sean too it seems, is that DDP didn't bump big off the first punch. I think their logic is, and I agree, is that the heel should be bumping big off the big babyface comeback, in order to get the fans into it. And when DDP didn't sell 'the right way', Undi probably used this as his reason to bury DDP to Vince.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2003 Personally, I hope DDP comes out with a second book...........yeah, highly doubtful, I know.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted February 1, 2003 Has teke reviewed the RVD shoot yet?
Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted February 1, 2003 Has anyone ever seen the shoots done by Disco Inferno or Daffney? I know Disco's could be good, but I have no clue how Daffney could fill up more than an hour with stories.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted February 1, 2003 The RVD one is on my "to review" list, but it's far down there because 1. I already have a big stack of ones I'm planning on doing, including Rey Misterio and 2. Frankly, I thought it was halfassed except for what he said about working for the WWF in 1997. The big ones that I'd push that I haven't really seen listed here are: Al Snow Arn Anderson Smokey Mountain Wrestling Fan-week BBW 1994 Missy Hyatt OR the Missy-Sunny shoot (car-wreck value) Road Warriors Eddy Guerrero Ricky Steamboat Bret Hart #2 (1997 and beyond) AVOID: Abdullah (ANY of them) Terry Gordy Shane Douglas Jesse Ventura Jerry Lawler, unless you're a BIG Memphis fan Iron Sheik Tony Atlas I've got to look around my apartment, but I actually have some extra 8-hour tapes of shoots laying around from a trade that didn't go through. At least one of these has the whole 8-hour Cornette shoot on it. If and when I find these, I need to, *ahem*, raise some money to buy new tapes.
Guest Andy Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Has anyone ever seen the shoots done by Disco Inferno or Daffney? I know Disco's could be good, but I have no clue how Daffney could fill up more than an hour with stories. I've got the Disco interview (in PAL) but haven't watched it yet.
