XPW attendance figures released by PA commision

I'm sure emax will be around to dispute those numbers shortly.

As much as I enjoy seeing those numbers, something inside me feels that they aren't right. I can't see XPW giving away 300 freebees in Philly. 1000 fans going to see wrestling on a Saturday night somehow seems right, even if all 1000 didn't pay for their ticket. Something just seems funny with those numbers, and it's not settling right with me.

However, if those numbers are correct, XPW's business plan could turn out worse then any plan WCW ever had.

My heart tells me those numbers are right. My brain tells me something is up.

XPW is notorious for papering their Cali shows which used to take place in 3000-5000 seat buildings. I figure 102 might be low but I seriously doubt the 400+ they claim as I imagine they just wanted to have a figure that competed with the 500 CZW drew. Next time someone's at a XPW show and not sitting in the front 5 rows just ask the 10 people around you if they paid for their ticket or got it handed to them on the street.

102 might be a little, but probably not much more then that. I could see XPW give away 500 tickets, just so the number looks impressive.

i know someone who works for xpw. those numbers are a rumor. he was at the show hours before the event started and he saw the # of comps ont a piece of paper. it was 30. xpw only comp 30 or so at philly shows, just family friends etc.

i also asked people during the show if they got in for free and no one said they did. if those #'s were true and 100 people out of 500 people at a show paid, someone would have said yes.

but they didnt. dont belive this, cause its bs.

also i was on the nyc bus trip and all 50 people on it paid as well.

So I guess only 52 people who weren't on the bus paid to get in.

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld:

That's a shame!

lol, yna

no dreamer everyone paid to get in except for family friends and people in the wrestling biz.

there was a comp list and it had 30 names on it.

so their attendance was 500

30 comps

= 470 paid.

if xpw is telling 100 to the commission it could be that only 100 paid at the door. ticket sales online were there + pre paid packages and the bus trip etc. and all those people paid.

I highly doubt an XPW show with Mexico's Most Wanted-Youthanazia in a TLC match, Supreme-Justice Pain in an I Quit match, Jerry Lynn-Psicosis-Juventud Guerrera, Kaos-Jonny Storm, and Shane Douglas-Vic Grimes could get a lower paid attendance than any CZW show. I sure as hell would've gone to New Year's Revolution and Aftermath instead of Live Again if I was in Philadelphia.

lol, true that. the numbers that I SAID were accurate.

I asked people if they got in for free and they said, "I just bought my ticket at the door, I went on the bus trip, I ordered them online, or I paid for a weekend package."

No one said, "I got in for free."

Both feds actually drew the same, with XPW drawing slightly more.

IF XPW had drawn less on Saturday against CZW, CZW fans would have said, "ha CZW wins." But XPW drew more, so the CZW fans made up that it was 100 paid, just so they can make CZW seem better. I saw this post on the CZW message board, and I asked for proof of when this was said, and they said it was an e mail, and I asked them to show me the e mail and they never responded. A bunch of lies and bullshit. If it were true it would be up on 1wrestling.com, but it is not. 1wrestling said 450-500. I know my numbers are correct because 1wrestling said so, I saw the number of comps on a piece of paper, I asked people if they got in for free, and when I asked the CZW fan for proof of it only being 100 paid, they never responded to me. I WIN :headbang:

Even if it is true, which I doubt it is, one bad draw isn't going to hurt Rob Black. If he has enough money to get all the stars he has one bad draw isn't going to hurt him much, especially since all of XPW's earlier shows drew 400-500 people.

i dont know what the record is but czw drew 1600 in viking hall for COD3, literally packing it to capacity, they actually had to turn away 300 fans because there was no more room.

i think xpw drew 2500 once for XPW: GO FUNK YOURSELF. they had go funk youself in the LA sports arena (where the LA clippers play) so they had plenty of room. but im sure that an indy has had more. people considered ecw an indy and it drew over 10,000 a lot

that last stat is WAY off. I think ECW's record attendance was 6K for Anarchy Rulz '99. No way in hell they ever drew five digits.

I figured it would be held by ECW, but I had no idea that the drew tha many. I was thinking about 3,000 tops.

6,000 is pretty impressive, how long did they keep that sort of attendence going for?

ChUnK!

Not very. That was their peek. It happened a week after the TNN deal. ECW slowly went downhill after that.

Keep in mind that the next PPV after Anarchy Rulz was held in an arena that only held I believe 1,600 people. Not very smart move there.

I actually think ECW packed the Hara Arena in Dayton, OH to capacity for Heat Wave '99, but I can most definitely be wrong.

Yes they did pack the Hara Arena for Heat Wave 1998 and 1999. I live in Cincy and was at both shows. They then had one TNN show their and just stopped running the Dayton Market, stupid move. They traveled about 35 miles down the road and had a TNN taping at the Cincy Convention Center and drew 1000 paid tops.

I doubt it. Those were the last hurrah shows for ECW, once they had lost their TV deals. 10K with no TV is beyond impossible.

AA '99 with the 6K attendance is generally regarded as the most attendance for an ECW show.

I checked out the Hammerstien Ballroom website and they say that the capacity for a concert is 3,679

The Hara Arena seats 6000-7000, depending on the floor plan and if there's a backdrop or not.

Hmm, maybe I am wrong. I went to Hammerstein for the last bunch of shows they had there (tag title tourny, night after, Massacre on 34th st, guilty as charged), and i thought it was a lot, it was probably more like 5-6000 i guess

oh yeah...

and everybody say...YATTA!

I could see a couple thousand for the last few ECW shows, but not 5-6K emax. Even in their peak, ECW struggled to draw those numbers, so for them to draw that many in their last hurrah doesn't seem possible.
